Synopsis
Sequel to Danmachi: Hero Maker. I'll try not to spoil any events that I have planned for Hero Maker but just know that this is the same Merlin from that story. Merlin to continue her journey, creates a spell and sets out to distant worlds for her own amusement. Along the way, picking up students and training them because why not? The cosmos and beyond is a lonely and boring place without friends.

Chapter 1 - Summoning

The Tristanian Academy of Magic, located within the Kingdom of Tristain. Its an institute that teaches magic to the children of nobility. The magic they teach is focused on the five elements-earth, water, fire, air and void.

The academy is built with a unique design. A central tower surrounded by pentagon shaped walls, with each corner having a smaller tower representing an element that they teach.

But today is a special day for the students of this academy. Today the sophomore mages will be performing the Familiar Spirit Summoning Exam. Students will summon a familiar to serve as their servant and protector. Due to the ritual being regarded as sacred, it can only be performed once, and so if you fail the ritual, you are automatically expelled from the academy.

And so, beneath the cloudy, mid morning sky, the students gathered in the courtyard. Each one is either excited or nervous of what familiar they will receive.

One by one, the students are called up to perform the summoning. Among the crowd, a pink haired girl watched with a hint of jealousy and bitterness, her wand trembling in her hand.

"I'm looking forward to the familiar you'll summon." A dark-tan skinned girl with an impressive bust and fire red hair spoke behind the pink haired girl.

"Leave me alone." She said in response, not willing to entertain them.

As the morning continued, every student now had a familiar with them, ranging from strange magical creatures to normal looking animals. Every student, except one.

"Now, was that everyone?" A bald headed teacher asked. He wore glasses with a blue coat, carrying a wooden staff by his side. His name is Professor Colbert, and he was in charge of overlooking the summonings.

"No, we still have Miss Valliere to go." The red head girl known as Kirche, informed the teacher. She was kneeling beside the salamander that she had summoned.

Upon hearing her name, the pink haired girl, Louise, stepped forward. Everyone parted, forming a large circle around her. The students gossiped, Louise had a reputation in the academy, a bad reputation. Students would call her Louise the Zero, due to how she was unable to cast a spell. Every spell casted would instead result in an explosion.

"After all the boasting from earlier, you'll summon something more amazing than this little guy, right Louise?" Kirche, petting her salamander, attempted to provoke Louise,

"Of course!" Louise responded.

She took a deep breath, then slowly raised her wand.

"My servant, that exists somewhere in this universe!"

The students, now confused as Louise's words did not match the typical spell for summoning.

"What's with that spell?"

"Well, it's original"

Louise continued. "My divine, beautiful, and powerful familiar!"

"I wish and assert from the bottom of my heart… Answer my guidance!" She brought down her wand, aiming it forward, and for a few seconds, nothing happened.

Everyone could already guess that it failed, as always. Just as they were about to turn away, a large magic circle appeared before Louise. The amount of mana that was being poured into this circle was shocking, even those who had a low sensitivity to mana were able to precisely feel it.

Then a sharp cry tore through, Louise now on her knees, her left hand now clutching the wrist of her right hand as the back of it glew a bright red, forming a red symbol that was closely matched to her family's emblem.

'What is this?!' She had never expected to feel pain from a simple summoning. Despite her earlier words, she had doubts if she would truly succeed in summoning a familiar, she would even be grateful if she got a weak and pitiful one, as long as she just received one. Yet now, all her expectations were shattered, and soon words began to enter her mind.

'A chant?' She couldn't help but ask herself. The chant of this spell was long and she had never heard of this type of chant ever being used for summonings, but, she saw it as a chance!

She rose to her feet, still clutching her right hand and walked toward the edge of the magic circle.

"Miss Valliere!" The teacher couldn't help but call out, this was afterall, an unprecedented situation never recorded in the history of this academy.

She raised her right hand over the magic circle, and began to speak.

"Fill. Fill. Fill. Fill. Fill. Let each be turned over five times, simply breaking asunder the fulfilled time.

"Let silver and steel be the essence"

"Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation"

The circle glew brighter, and her voice was amplified for everyone to hear, yet she paid no heed, her concentration was hyper focused on the chant and nothing else.

"Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall"

"Let the four cardinal gates close"

"Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the kingdom rotate"

Louise could feel the mana being drained from her and the surroundings, her head was starting to feel light from the mana drain, yet she continued.

"I shall declare here. Your body shall serve under me"

"My fate shall be with your sword"

"Submit to the beckoning of my will"

"If you will submit to this will and this reason, then answer!"

Her voice became louder, booming off the walls that surround the academy.

"An oath shall be sworn here!"

"I shall obtain all virus of all of heaven"

"I shall have dominion over all evils of hell!"

"From the seventh heaven, attended to by three great words of power, come forth from the ring of restraint, Protector of the balance!"

"Come forth! My servant!"

The magic circle reached its fill, and a bright light engulfed the entire courtyard, blinding everyone that watched.

Louise fell to her knees, her body exhausted and pale from the mana drain, yet she couldn't bring herself to care about it. Her eyes remained fixed on where the magic circle was, covered in a dense fog. She couldn't see past the fog, but she could feel something there, as if her existence was connected to it in some strange way.

Then from beyond the fog, an ethereal voice spoke.

"You really kept me waiting huh? Even my dear Ais was doubting whether this spell would work."

"Hmph, of course it would work, I was the one who designed it after all!"

Confusion showed on Louise's face. "Who?"

From the fog, a woman emerged. Beautiful pinkish-white hair, bright amethyst colored eyes, her body covered in an ordained white robe and a beautifully decorated white staff in her hand. The strange woman locked eyes with Louise, then walked up in front of her.

She put one hand over her chest and bowed her head, still keeping her eyes locked onto Louise's confused eyes.

"I ask you…"

"Are you my master?"

[A/N] What's this? A sequel? You're not even finished with the first story!?

I know, I know. But I couldn't help it. I had this story planned for awhile when I was writing Hero Maker but with how slow that's going I just decided to start posting this alongside it.

I will keep spoilers to an absolute minimum in this story so you don't need to worry.

First world is Louise the Zero. This anime has a place in my heart when I watched it way back then. It's certainly not great, and kinda trash. But, its my trash.

Also shout out to the guy who managed to predict this story in his review of Hero Maker.

Also side note, why is there an mpreg tag on webnovel? Like really? Why?
