Ryuu wakes up the next day to his alarm clock being as annoying as it was made to be. He looks around still with a haze of sleep covering his eyes and then nods his head like he still wasn't sure he now lived in Hotd. He gets out of bed and takes a cold shower to wake up, gets dressed and walks out of his house in his school uniform. He has on a black buttoned up over shirt with a white tank-top underneath. His black semi-short hair is tussled by the wind as his deep brown eyes lazily look around the street. He spots Rei Miyamoto walking with Takashi Komuro. Her waist length orange hair tied into a ponytail blows in the wind, flows like the wind is gently trying to make sure that the world knows that she is one of the heroines of this dark and cruel world. She spots him staring and notices his uniform, she walks over and decides to talk to him. Hello, I'm rei Miyamoto. Are you going to Fujimi academy as well? Ryuu looks at her stunned, she is far more beautiful than the anime gave her credit. Yes, I am. I am Ryuu Kami, I start today actually and I just moved in yesterday. She replies. In that house over there? She points at his 2-story white house with some gold trim around the door and roof. I didn't know someone lived there. I should introduce myself and my parents to yours sometime. Want to walk with me and my friend Takashi Komuro over there to school? As she looks over her shoulder to make it clear who she was talking about. Ryuu looks at him and replies. Sure, I don't mind. Also, you won't be able to meet my parents, they are over in the U.S right now for work. So, I live alone at the moment. Rei looks saddened that he is alone but quickly masks it and grabs Ryuu's arm and pulls him over to Takashi. Takashi this is Ryuu Kami; he just moved in and is starting at the same school as us. I want to show him the way and maybe all three of us can be friends. I mean we live in the same neighborhood, and it would be great to have another friend. Rei says in a cheerful voice. Takashi looks at Ryuu like he just stepped in dog shit and give a dismissive wave of agreement. Rei's face turns dark at Takashi's lack of manners but turns to Ryuu and gives him a bright smile. The three walk towards their new school. Hey Rei, what do you do for fun around here? and I hope it's not rude but what do you like to do for as a hobby? Ryuu asks kind of shyly cause he's not quite sure what would be rude in Japan since he lived his whole past life in America. She gives a bright smile and says, It's not rude Ryuu-Kun. The fun things around here are karaoke, bowling and arcades. I like Sojutsu, reading; music and watching shows about Sojutsu. What about you Ryuu-Kun? He files that away for later, maybe if they become close friends, he can give her a spear made in his underground fort for her birthday. She might like that. Ryuu replies, That all sounds fun. I like going to the shooting range, reading, music as well and I am kind of a big nerd. I watch anime, read manga as well as fantasy and sci-fi novels. I don't have any of that stuff at my house right now because I just moved in. Rei looks interested in the kinds of hobbies he just mentioned. She says, Ryuu-Kun you've gone shooting? How is it? my dad won't let me even see a gun let alone shoot one. Also, I don't think it's all that nerdy to like manga or watch anime. In fact, me and Takashi watch anime quite a bit too. We should all watch some together sometime. Takashi looks livid that Ryuu is talking with Rei and that Rei is willing to hang out with a man she hasn't know long as well as drag him into it. Ryuu notices this and winks at him. He has no like or dislike of Takashi; in fact, he understands him quite a bit. But that doesn't mean he will let him get away with any bullshit he might try to pull, at least for now he genuinely wants to get along with him as a friend. He would rather have more friends than enemies before the zombies show up. (Dude needs to calm down, Me and her are just talking. Can't she make other male friends? I don't have feelings for her; I just want friends in this life right now. If I end up liking her; well, we will see what happens when we cross that bridge.) The trio continue onwards to school; Rei and Ryuu continue to talk throughout the whole walk.
