Click-clack. The sound of footsteps echoed across the hall. Finally it stopped in front of a door.
[The higher-ups]
The door opened and members sat in an oval-shaped table, they were the Executives Members.
"Now. There is a small piece of information that I want all of you to be wary of."
The presentation showed an image of Adrian and words, reciting his entire life.
And two words underneath the image in bold—The Gifted.
"Excuse me, but why does this asset claim a title?" One questioned.
"Oh. Do not worry, Head Executive David will fill you in." A woman shrugged.
"As you see, Unit 091 or Adrian, is the one I personally chose. At first, he may appear emotionally unstable. That was my first impression as well, however, as I observed him more, he seemed far more talented than the other assets you all chose."
"I see, you were the one who requested this meeting, am I wrong?"
"You were spot on."
"I knew it! You asked our presence here for you to show off your precious asset!"
"He is not an asset."
His voice came out rather firm, opposing the earlier calm he used.
He opened his mouth and closed it again, supposedly gathering his stubbornness, he announced.
"Sir. Adrian is not an asset nor a unit, he is a person. I will not tolerate whoever treats him equal to other assets. I request this meeting be adjourned."
The executives exchanged confused glances at each other.
"He's emotional, how rare. The little one is really precious."
