Chapter 7 - Part 7: The Golden Star-

The battle for Elyndor was over, but peace did not return.

The shadow army had retreated, yet dark clouds still covered the kingdom. People celebrated surviving the attack, but everyone knew the Shadow King would return.

And next time, he would be stronger.

Three nights after the battle, Aren stood atop the highest tower in the capital.

The golden star still shone in the distance.

Unlike the other stars, it seemed alive.

Calling to him.

"You're thinking about it again," Lyra said as she joined him.

Aren nodded.

"The Shadow King said someone found the final fragment."

"And if he finds it first," Lyra replied, "everything we've fought for may be lost."

Aren looked toward the horizon.

"Then we have to reach it before he does."

The next morning, King Rowan summoned Aren, Lyra, and Kael.

A map lay across the royal table.

The golden star's location had been traced to a forgotten land far beyond Elyndor's borders.

A place called the Sunfallen Isles.

Few ships ever returned from there.

Ancient legends spoke of ruined cities, lost magic, and creatures older than kingdoms.

King Rowan pointed to the map.

"The final fragment lies somewhere on these islands."

Aren took a deep breath.

"Then that's where we're going."

Two days later, their ship sailed from the harbor.

The sea stretched endlessly around them.

For the first few days, the journey was peaceful.

Then strange things began to happen.

At night, golden lights danced beneath the water.

Whispers echoed across the waves.

And every morning, the golden star appeared closer.

As if it were guiding them.

Or watching them.

On the seventh night, a violent storm struck.

Towering waves crashed against the ship.

Lightning split the sky.

The crew fought desperately to stay afloat.

Suddenly, a massive shape emerged from the ocean.

A creature made of water and light.

Its eyes glowed like tiny suns.

The sailors screamed.

Kael grabbed his sword.

"What is that?"

Lyra stared in amazement.

"A guardian."

The giant creature circled the ship.

Instead of attacking, it fixed its gaze on Aren.

Then it spoke.

Not with words.

With thoughts.

"The Starheart Bearer has arrived."

Aren felt the voice inside his mind.

"Who are you?"

The guardian's glowing form shimmered.

"I protect the path to the Golden Star."

The sea suddenly became calm.

The storm vanished.

And in the distance, land appeared.

The Sunfallen Isles.

The guardian slowly sank beneath the waves.

Before disappearing, it delivered one final warning.

"Beware the one who carries the golden fragment."

Aren's heart skipped.

"Why?"

The answer came like a whisper.

"Because she serves neither light nor darkness."

Then the guardian was gone.

At sunrise, the ship reached the shores of the Sunfallen Isles.

Ancient ruins rose from the jungle.

Golden towers gleamed among the trees.

The air itself seemed filled with forgotten magic.

Aren stepped onto the sand.

Somewhere on these islands was the final fragment.

And the mysterious person who possessed it.

Friend or enemy, he did not know.

But one thing was certain.

The next chapter of their journey had begun.
