I'm writing this while working at my part-time job, so continuing 'Chronicles of a Soul Reaper' or 'HOD' is a bit much right now. I'm putting this up instead. It's mostly based on what I remember from Bleach, so I'm just posting it for fun to kill time.
I originally thought about tackling a VRMMO novel, but as you know, settings are everything in those. It's too difficult to manage that while working. Fantasy is the same, so I'm just going with another parody.
For context, my job is at a PC Cafe from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. I can't play games, so I just use the counter computer. Then I go home, eat, play some games, and write 'Chronicles' or 'HOD' in the middle of the night. Hahaha. That's why the chapters usually drop in the early hours of the dawn.
Reincarnation is a wonderful thing. However, there are mandatory conditions required to actually pull it off.
First: You must be a high school student. You can't be too old or too young. Right around high school age is the sweet spot.
Second: To initiate the process, you must either die or be asleep. If you die, you'll meet a God or the King of the Dead to be reincarnated or possessed into a new body. If you fall asleep and dream, a God might descend and grant you the opportunity. Well, either way, both rely entirely on luck, so I'd advise against any rash decisions like suicide. I happened to be the latter case. I found myself in a space of pure, blinding white, facing a man who was blonde and incredibly handsome.
"I am God! To put it simply, from now on, you're going to be reincarnated into the world of Bleach."
The man claiming to be God looked down at me, wearing an arrogant smirk as he spoke.
"Uh... may I ask why it's Bleach?"
"There's no particular reason. I'm sending you there because I feel like it. No, I'm not taking requests for wishes. You're just taking whatever I decide to give you."
"Isn't that... a bit unfair?"
In most parodies, the God usually compensates the protagonist's situation to some degree. Why did the one I met have to be a control freak who wanted everything his way? It was beyond unfair. God merely chuckled at my grievance.
"I'm the God here. You just do what I tell you to do. OK?"
"Ah... yes, sir."
If God tells you to do something, you do it. What would change if a mere mortal like me complained? I had no choice but to shut my mouth and accept it. God seemed pleased with my submissive reaction and nodded with a satisfied grin.
"Good attitude. Now, I'll let you know your basic specs. First off, you're going to be a Hollow."
"Wait, isn't Bleach about Soul Reapers? Why a Hollow?"
"Because I say so. Anyway, you're a Hollow. But since a regular Hollow is a bit boring, I'll make it so that as long as you grow properly, you can eventually become an Arrancar—and even reach the Vasto Lorde level—without any external requirements. Normally, only special entities can achieve that, but hmm... let's make you the exception. To start, we'll keep it simple: you'll begin as a piece of trash-level Hollow. Once you're there, do whatever you want. Build a harem, wage life-and-death battles against Soul Reapers or other Hollows, or just hide and live a quiet life. Whatever you do is up to you. I might even send you a gift every now and then. Now, off you go."
Snap!
As soon as God finished explaining my starting kit, he snapped his fingers. A vortex of absolute darkness, like a black hole, tore open behind me and began to pull me in with terrifying force. Knowing resistance was futile, I surrendered my body to the suction and was swallowed into the abyss.
"Safe travels! Oh, and try not to die immediately~!"
Right before the darkness consumed my vision entirely, I saw God waving at me with a playful smile.
