Chapter 7 - Regret

She stepped back, and he missed but he was fast enough to scrape her armor. Stepping forward, holding his sword with both his hands, he swung it at her head. She took the opportunity of his opened torso and aimed under his chin to get his throat, but he blocked it with his sword. When his arms were down she punched him, making his head turn. He turned back around with blood covering his mouth. Susan watched from the cabin. She didn't know what to do. What if he killed Edana? Will he find her hiding in the cabin and kill her too? Will he bring more angels to take over the world? She called Jhonny, he needed to know what was going on. He didn't answer. She looked at the window again. They were swinging at each other with their swords. Edana managed to injure him but it wasn't enough to take him down. She called Jhonny again while she ducked down the window, he answered. "Hey, I was in a short meeting," he said, "Jhonny, he's here" "Who, Lynx?" "Yes, right now Edana is taking care of it" "Aren't you at the cabin, Susan?" "I'm watching from a distance, but in case anything happens to her, I have to interfere" "Don't, listen, just stay where you are and give me your location; don't let him know you're there if he doesn't know already" with that he hung up. She decided not to send him the location for his safety. She looked out the window and they were gone. She couldn't see them and there wasn't much to look at. It was a bad idea, but she wanted to go outside to look for them. She got up and heard a big thud near the window. She looked out and there was Lynx lying on the ground, he had cuts on his face and bold on his armor now. He got up and flew straight up. They're fighting in the air. Jhonny got out of work and ran to his car. He got on and checked to see the location, but Susan didn't send it. "Come on Susan," he said. He called her, but she didn't answer. "Fuck" he figured they were in the woods because she was in the cabin. He drove off to the park in the woods and decided to look for them himself. Lynx noticed the way she was flying to keep herself up in the air. He remembered he had wounded her wing when he tried to capture her, and he used it as an advantage. She almost stabbed an exposed part in his torso while he was distracted in his thoughts, but he was fast enough to avoid it. When he did so, he flew fast behind her and cut her injured wing. She fell a few feet down, but she was strong enough to still fly. "It takes more than that to lose my wing!" she screamed at him angrily while she lunged at him swinging her sword. "I'm trying to make you lose your wig slowly and painfully before I kill you the same way!" he screamed at her as he dogged her move. But she was fierce and she didn't back down as well as the prince. Out of rage, she charged back ay him, and with a swift movement, he cut a couple of feathers from her wounded wing. She fell down hard on the ground and Lynx quickly pinned her down on the ground with his body. He held her arm down and pierced his sword into her wing. She winced in pain. "Now, after I end you, I will go back and perish your kingdom, everything you and your angels have created. I will kill every inferno angel and be the ruler of Mordin", Edana held his sword, cutting her hand in the process, she held the blade tightly as blood dripped from her hand, "I believe you're as clueless as I am about Dillon. You don't know who really killed him, so you want to end the life of every Inferno angel because that's the only way you will get the angel that murdered him." She said. "Silence!" he said lifting his sword above his head about to strike her with it. "Hey!" Lynx turned and looked at Susan. At that moment, Edana took that opportunity to grab her dagger and slit deep into his throat. She pushed him off her and he fell to the ground gagging and holding his throat. She got up and walked towards Susan. Susan noticed silver liquid on Edana, and the golden liquid was coming from her wounds. "I had it handled Susan," she said. "It didn't seem like it, he was about to decapitate you." "You have to go now, it's not safe" "What do you mean, you just killed him" "I just slowed him down, he's a prince so he has special powers that can heal any wound" "Slitting his throat isn't enough to kill him?" asked Susan. "Unlike a human, no" "Then how do you kill him?" she asked. "It's a secret, The royals of each kingdom know how to kill their own permanently, but it's something only they keep to themselves" "So you have to know the secret?" "Yes" "Susan!" they both turned towards the woods and see Jhonny running towards them. "How did you find us?" asked Susan. "Are you alright?" he said holding Susan. He looked at Edana and asked the same question. "You have to take Susan somewhere safe" She stopped and turned to look at Lynx that was still lying on the ground a good distance away from them, "He's seen her, he will target her now" Jhonny looked at him, "What happened?" he asked, "I took him down for now, but Jhonny there's something you have to know, so expect me to show up later on after I know what to do with him. Take Susan and get out of here now" she said demandingly. "I will," he said. he held Susan's hand and they walked away. Susan turned "I'm sorry, Edana" "I understand that you were trying to save me, but you don't have to anymore" Jhonny and Susan walked away, she explained to him what happened and about the secret of the kingdoms. Jhonny listened to her and he felt worried more than ever knowing his wife could be in danger. He thinks if it was better for him to tell her an excuse than to tell her the truth and involve her in this mess. He isn't prepared to live without her.
