Kiera thought maybe it would be better for her to ditch this mission halfway in. She didn't know what Dervan was planning, and although she had felt she didn't mind going to jail before, that was mostly delirium talking.
At the time, her brain was probably still in a mess from what happened to Alessia.
"He's leaving now." Coyle's voice sounded and Kiera peered over his shoulder to look through the windscreen.
Dervan Salviati really was leaving. He wore a finely tailored carton brown suit, his hair neatly parted as he held onto a black briefcase.
Kiera watched him hand the briefcase over to his driver. Just as he was about to get into the back seat of the car, his emerald eyes took a quick glance at the van that was parked a few meters away from him before he disappeared into the vehicle.
No one else seated in the van caught sight of that but Kiera's lips twitched because she had clearly gotten a glimpse of his subtle glance. 'Yup. We're doomed alright.'
