"Hah!" Kiera scoffed as she crossed her arms. "So what now? Will you take me to prison?"
Dervan shrugged as he took slow steps into the study. "Maybe."
"But you promised me that I could see Alessia!" She yelled and thumped on her chest. "At least let me do that before you send me away!"
Dervan was silent for a few seconds. "I never promised."
Kiera's face reddened. "You… you bastard!"
"But I'll let you see her," he continued, settling on the couch in front of his desk. "Because I am a benevolent man."
Kiera paused, utterly taken aback. 'Did he… just say that with a straight face?'
She clenched her fists as her brows twitched. "Thank you, oh mighty one. I wonder how I could ever repay you for this?"
Dervan studied her in silence for a few minutes, all while the explosive behind her continued to hiss and pop.
"How you would repay me?" He asked, as if in thought. "Then leave this country and never return."
