Chapter 11 - Alfa Flowerew

"Have we met before?"

Ever since Alfa Flowerew had entered the building, he felt strange. He knew that the lab, or institute, or whatever the humans called it was sending more doctors in for the research that the blonde girl was doing... but....

That girl Rebecca, she had gotten too close to finding out the truth. How many times had he warned his pack members to stay hidden, but with modern technology, hiding was close to impossible.

They even used one of that flying objects; a drone, they called it; it could fly high and take pictures of the areas that would be impossible for anyone to get to.

As he neared the dinning area, he felt restless, like there was something amiss. No, he didn't catch the scent of his mate, but something was off. A smile crossed his lips as he entered, which was very rare.

"Here he is, Alfa Flowerew," he heard his beta, Sinclair say.

His heart almost stopped. There was the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, standing at the table. She had amazing green eyes... green eyes? His mate has blue eyes! Well, it can be lens... but why would she need lens, after all, werewolves had perfect sight. Werewolf... she didn't smell like a werewolf! Was she human?

"No, Mr Alfa, this is our first meet!" Arya said, smiling. "And this is my team." All of them smiled and greeted their host, but Flowerew was still looking at the beauty standing in front of him.

He listened closely at her heartbeat, and she was telling the truth. But he had met his mate when she was young, and her eyes were blue not green.

"Well, I welcome you all to our little village," he said, taking his seat. "This is a welcome lunch, but you all will be provided food and cleaning services from us, for as long as you stay."

"With all our respect, Mr Alfa, I'll have to decline the cleaning services, as I won't allow any unauthorized personnel to come anywhere near our work," Arya said, as lunch was served to them. "And I have a request, the cleaners that cleaned up the cabin on the last day, if they have seen any of the previous teams equipment, we will really need it."

"I'll have Sinclair look into that matter," Flowerew replied, taking another bite of egg."

He had noticed that this girl, the leader, wasn't making eye contact as the other girl was. Was she hiding anything? The blonde one used to chat away, looking at him straight in his eyes, which did agitate him... but Miss Hunter?... his mate is Moonstone... does that mean... yes, she's not his mate, just some random girl.

'Alfa, everything alright?' Sinclair mindlinked his Alfa.

'There's something amiss. Meet me at my office later, and get Yalandro'. He mindlinked back.

Alfa Flowerew was sitting with his beta, and another man, who was short and stern. As soon as lunch was over, and the guests had left, they came straight into the huge office.

"Is everything alright, Alfa? You looked disturbed during lunch," Sinclair asked, concerned.

"Ronald, I want you to keep an eye on them. Yalandro, you're my best detective, I want you to go find out as much as possible about her... dig everything up, her past, family, friends... everything! Living or dead! Understood?" Flowerew said, in an authoritative voice.

"Yes Alfa, but may I ask why?" Sinclair asked, while Yalandro just nodded, being a man of few words.

"She's hiding something Ronald, I can feel it."

He still remembered the day his father took him to that pack meeting in another wolfs territory, when he was fifteen. It was a very important peace treaty, and as the future Alfa of the Moonsglow pack, he had to go.

Returning back, they discovered that his mate's scent was gone. They did everything they could, even went to her only known family, her aunt Kimberly's house, but her scent wasn't there, at all.

Her old grandfather didn't know what happened, and lead search teams into the mountains, calling out to her, crying.

It wasn't until years later, that they had learned that his family came to visit that day she went missing. By then the old man was long gone, and no one else knew where she went, as these people had found a way to mask her scent.

After learning this, the then alfa Kane, tightened up security and built gates all across his territory, no one get in or out without his permission.

"I feel like she's my long lost mate..."

Sinclair was shocked hearing this. His Alfa never felt this way before, but he had to admit, there is something mysterious about Dr Hunter. It was like she knows more then she shows. Their Alfa did have a funny name... Flowerew! Who even in their right mind names their child Flowerew? That toothpick of a guy laughed, and he heard the girls heart skip a beat. As far as Sinclair knew, humans weren't afraid to say what was on their minds, and that is what that man did, but she was afraid. Why?

"Don't worry Alfa, I will send someone to keep an eye on them."

"My Alfa, I will start working immediately; but first I need a photo of her," Yalandro said.

As Flowerew sat on his bed, he remembered the day he first saw her, blue eyes, cute smile, curly hair... she looked like a princess.

His father saw him staring at Aria, and told him that she was the girl he's been betrothed to, meaning she's his mate.

He remembered how ecstatic he felt, and couldn't wait to grow up. At twelve, he had his first change, and the first thing he smelled was her. The sweet smell of lavender mixed with honey and wildflowers... but it was getting away.

He ran toward the smell as fast as he could, and saw a car. He could also smell her parents; where were they going?

He ran up the hill, and while getting down, tumbled and landed right in front if the old white car.

Everything was a blur from there. The car swerved off the road, tumbling down into a ditch, panicked screams of everyone in the car, then sobs... and then... nothing. The car was surrounded by adult wolves of their pack.

They were rushed to the pack doctors, but because they were so severely injured and had lost huge amounts of blood, their wolfs couldn't save them, and they passed on, leaving Aria Moonstone to the care of her grandfather.

Flowerew did try to play with her as much as he could, but she was broken.

The faster Yalandro would do his job the faster he'd know why his feeling this way for a stranger.
