Chapter 13 - Is that so?

"Does that mean she's wearing lens?" Flowerew asked Sinclair.

"I didn't see it myself, but I heard her colleague ask her about her eyesight," Sinclair replied.

"That means her eye colour is not green... could it be blue?" Alfa asked.

Sinclair chuckled.

"What?"

"Sorry Alfa, but I've never seen you so interested in someone before."

"There's something about her..." he rubbed his forehead with his fingers. "I just have a gut feeling that we're somehow connected!"

"Maybe you could... you know... get out more," Sinclair said, winking at him.

Flowerew raised an eyebrow. This guy here was the same age as him and had a mate and five pups... the eldest was almost sixteen.

Then there was him, the Alfa. No mate. No heir. No nothing. He was 30 years old and was still unmated. His father had told him multiple times that he can still go around and satisfy his desires with any shewolf he desires, but they both knew only she can give him an heir. Only his betrothed. His mate.

Even today, at breakfast, she spoke only about work. When he asked her about her personal life, she said, "I live with my parents and siblings." Nothing else.

And now he got to know that she's wearing lenses. Can someone change their entire identity?

"What? You know I'm saying the truth, even your parents would agree," Sinclair said.

"It's not that Ronald... just that, I don't want to become my father. You know the amount of mental torture those women went through... even my mother suffered. I don't want people to fear me, I want them to love and respect me." Flowerew said, sadness evident on his face.

"We all love you alfa. And we do respect you."

"You? You respect me," Alfa said, smirking. "If you'd respected me, you wouldn't advice me to go... whoring around."

"Well, I can advice my best friend that, can't I?"

"You're horrible."

"I know, my alfa," Sinclair bowed, dramatically, only to get a book thrown at him. He caught it.

"When are they returning back?" Flowerew asked, and Sinclair knew he was talking about his 'crush'.

"I told Herman to bring them back as soon as he can. We don't want them to find anything."

Then he saw his Alfa mindlink someone. "Is that so?" He said out loud.

"Alfa, what happened?" Sinclair was shocked at the smile that came on his alfa's face. This man never smiled.

"Miss Hunter... guess her first name?" Alfa asked.

"I don't know... Abigail?"

"No."

"Penny? Betty? Elizabeth?"

Now Sinclair was getting frustrated. "What is it?"

"Aria!"

"Yeah... but it's spelt with a 'Y' not 'I'."

"You knew? And you were guessing Abigail... and all that names? Why" Alfa Flowerew was now disappointed that his best friend never told him.

"Well, I gave you the information and you said you would 'look into it'," Sinclair said, shocked that his Alfa never saw their details. "You didn't see the papers, did you?"

"I was busy!" Flowerew tried defending himself.

"Are you truly our alfa? I mean you should know everything that goes on here, even more..." "Ok, OK. But you could have told me!"

"Great! The blame game! Again!. Fine, I'm sorry alfa, I kept this very important information from you, even though it was your job to see who comes into our territory," Sinclair said, in a sarcastic tone.

"Hey, man, I'm sorry," Alfa apologized. He knew Sinclair had asked him multiple times to check everything before allowing them in, but he didn't and this was entirely his fault.

When Sinclair didn't say anything, he made puppy dog eyes and stared at him, which made Sinclair laugh. He was the only man in front of who Alfa could show his vulnerability. His beta, his best friend. His most loyal companion. He could kill and die for this pack and Alfa Flowerew, without even thinking twice. He had proved multiple times his loyalty lies with Flowerew and this pack. But he also knew his boundaries. If there is someone in the room with them, be it another alfa or a slave, he would not joke or say anything that might shame his Alfa, or make him feel hurt.

"You're not a pup anymore. Idiot!" Sinclair said laughing.

They hugged and went to grab lunch.

Arya's team had just begun doing there job, when their guide Herman told them that they had to return.

"The weather is about to change, it's going to rain soon!" Was the excuse he gave them. Arya knew it was untrue as the sun was high and there wasn't even a single grey cloud in the sky.

Unfortunately, they had to follow his instructions, as the manager Sinclair had told them to strictly follow everything he says.

"Maybe we can send him down, and we stay up here?" Darian whispered in Arya's ear.

"No, we have to follow these people's instructions. We don't have a choice," she whispered back, knowing fully we'll that Mr Herman could hear everything. At least Herman will tell the alfa that they comply to instructions.

It will also help her get away from any suspicion they may already have... God why did Maryann have to come?

Her calling out 'Arya' may just fuelled Flowerew's suspicion. He already thought they had met before, and now this!

Not to mention in the morning when Amelia asked her about her eyesight, when Sinclair was there.

Keeping this secret was getting harder and harder. Alfa Flowerew will need to get her scent before he confirms she is his mate, so she is safe as long as the moonstone is around her neck.

She just needs to find out what happened with Rebecca and her team and equipment, then get out of here.

If they are alive, she needs to find her as soon as possible, then get out of this hell. She needs to be very careful... she was afraid that he could ask her team mates for the truth.

Will she be in danger, or will she get out before been found?
