Chapter 8 - The New Maid.

* Someone's coming–and it's not mom* The erratic sound of footsteps in a state of running, and soon, the person soon arrived at the bathroom door and immediately flung it open.

As the doors were swung open, a lady in a maid uniform immediately walked in. She had thick black hair and eyes, an honestly beautiful face and a body that should only be allowed on a goddess.

Seeing her, Ethan's mind froze in place, as he stared at her unblinking while on the ground.

" Gasp!" She exclaimed, as she saw him wet on the ground with water continuously splashing out of the broken pipe.

" Young master! Why are you on the floor? You're supposed to be resting!"

She asked in a worried tone, as she went closer to him an dtried to lift him off from the ground.

" I'm fine, I'm fine. I can get up myself," he said nonchalantly, but just as he slowly stood up, it hit him.

*Did she just—did she just call me "young master"?* His brain barely processed it before his heel slipped on the wet tile. The next thing he knew, gravity betrayed him.

He was falling!

But just before he fell completely, a soft, but firm hand wrapped around his waist and held him up.

It was the same lady who had just come in, again, it hit him! * Who the hell is this lady?*

Immediately, Ethan ut some distance between them, as he stared at her suspiciously.

He should have realized it. This lady was a stranger in his house, how could she be in his house without his knowledge, did she break in? And why is she here of all places?

" Who and what are you doing here," he demanded, his eyes glaring like a beast staring at potential danger.

" Oh, please calm down young master, there's no need to be afraid, I mean you no harm," Her words were frantic, but her eyes—calm, calculating—betrayed a strange confidence for someone who'd just found her employer half-drowned in the bathroom.

" What do you mean you mean me no harm, you some kind of alien? And what the hell is the meaning of this young master talk?" He asked annoyingly.

" Alright, young master, my name is Emmanuella Meyers, but you can call me Ella. And I'm the new maid your mother has assigned, to take care of you," She explained, while slightly bowing her head in courtesy.

" New maid, what do you mean by that?"

" You see young master, your mother had been worried that they leave you at home all alone for too long, and so she decided that she would hire a houseworker, technically a maid, who would take care of the house and act as your guardian till they get back. The events if two days ago had also been enough to reinforce this idea in her head,," Ella spoke with a slight hint of disgust in her tone, but she made sure not to show it to Ethan.

" Till they get back? Didn't t they just return?" Ethan said inquisitively.

" Yes. They had arrived to take a few experimental equipments and then left a day later after leaving you in my care, which was yesterday. You were asleep throughout the day and so they were unable to say goodbye. I wasn't expecting you to be awake, so I had been shocked when I heard the sound of water hitting the tiles," Ella explained.

" So you're saying that they left a day after they returned," his eyes darkened, showing a bit if sadness.

" Yes, they had to return for their work,"

* Work. Always work. His hands clenched at his sides. Their son was unconscious, and they still left him to a stranger. Am I really that worthless?*

The thought hit harder than he'd like to admit. Breathing suddenly felt like a chore.

" Alright," he replied in a disheartened manner," could you call over the plumber to fix this, and I don't want to sound bossy, but could I ask for toast and, I don't know—orange juice–i guess. Would that be too much,"

" Of course not sir, it'll be my pleasure.," then she turned around and walked away.

Seeing her receding figure, Ethan sighed, as he returned to his room and laid on his bed.

As soon as he got into the room, he locked the door just to make sure no one would come in.

" So, what are you?" He said out loud, almost as if he were speaking to someone, but—there was no one else in the room.

" Young one, I have told you, I am a god, and now you host my soul," a voice responded, shocking Ethan.

If he had wanted to believe that everything up to this point was nothing but a dream and a really tense hallucination, he knew now that that was not the case and what was happening right now was real. Very real.

A ripple of purple smoke burst from his head, twisting, folding, until it shaped into a wolf so vast it nearly grazed the ceiling. Stars flickered within its fur. Shadows bent away from it like servants bowing to a king.

Seeing the beast, Ethan felt nothing but fear, but after encountering the creature many times over already, he had finally been able to get past it.

" I'm surprised you aren't sprawled on the ground screaming right now. Most times unless you've met me a hundred times, you would scream your lungs out if fear. It seems you have a better will than most," the best spoke again, revealing it's cosmic jaws that seemed to swallow the universe.

" Gulp~ what do you want, and why are you in my head?" Ethan asked, his voice still shaking in fear. He really felt like screaming, but he wanted to hold himself down for as long as possible.

" Because you were the one that absorbed my blood and didn't die, you shall be the one to become the child of prophecy," said the wolf, it's time a mix of helplessness and disdain.

" Child of prophecy? What does that mean?" Ethan was confused by the strange words the wolf was saying, it all seemed like fantasy gibberish.

" In due time child, you shall understand. But for now, I must train you. You are my vessel. Meaning if you die, I die, which is something I cannot let happen. Meaning, you shall receive training from a god!" The wolf exclaimed with a proud look on its face.

" Train me? For what?" Ethan asked , confusion lingering on his head.

" I must train you on how—To Become A Werewolf,"
