First, I'll head to Bill's Lighthouse, then move on to Vermilion City to challenge Gym Leader Lt. Surge and earn the Orange Badge.
Leaving Cerulean City, Alex Carter glanced around. Seeing no one, he took out his airship.
Eager to reach Bill's Lighthouse, Alex was curious about the unique, phantom-like Pokémon rumored to appear there.
In the original anime, this Pokémon didn't appear often, only occasionally. Alex wasn't sure if his timing would be right, but it didn't matter much. Meeting it or not would be left to fate.
Since he was passing by, he figured he'd take a look to avoid any regrets.
Meanwhile, the sea was teeming with Pokémon, offering a great opportunity for his Pokémon to grow stronger in a secluded spot... The airship's speed was impressive.
In less than half a day, Alex arrived at Bill's Lighthouse. The sun was still blazing, but the area was a desolate beach, rarely visited.
Perhaps only adventurous Trainers ventured here to catch Pokémon.
The ocean in this Pokémon world was breathtaking.
Coconut trees swayed by the sea, the sand warm underfoot, and the distant ocean waves created a peaceful scene. This place was perfect for a vacation.
In a corner of this beach stood a lighthouse on a seaside cliff—Bill's Lighthouse.
From afar, Alex decided against a direct visit.
Bill wasn't just anyone; in the Pokémon world, he was an expert in many fields, respected even by Professor Oak.
Unless something special warranted it, Alex felt it best not to approach.
He didn't want to be discovered doing anything suspicious, which would be hard to explain.
Before coming here, Alex had stocked up on necessities in Cerulean City, like beach chairs and fruit platters, all stored in his system space.
His wealth came from collecting small pieces of Moon Stone from Clefairy's cave on Mt. Moon.
While Alex had recycled a massive Moon Stone to the system, he collected smaller pieces scattered around the cave.
Such items were rare.
Many Trainers needed them for Pokémon evolution, making them easy to sell for money.
In Cerulean City, he sold three small Moon Stones for nearly 100,000, which he used to buy items, without spending it all at once.
"I remember the sea has many Pokémon, even more than land, because the Pokémon world has a larger ocean area. This means there are actually more sea Pokémon, many undiscovered by humans," Alex mused, lounging on a beach chair.
With that in mind, Alex summoned the system's point mall.
"System, do you have items to attract sea Pokémon?" Alex asked.
"Certainly. Here are some recommended items for the Host."
"One, Sea Herb, attracts Pokémon within a thirty-meter radius. (Three thousand points per plant.)"
"Two, Jade Fish Grass, attracts Magikarp, Goldeen, and similar Pokémon within a three-hundred-meter range. (Five thousand points per plant.)"
"Three, Nether Water Orb, a self-luminous orb in water attracting Pokémon within a thousand meters, with a charming effect, making many Water-type Pokémon reluctant to leave. (Twenty thousand points per orb.)"
...Reviewing the recommendations, Alex chose the Nether Water Orb.
Following the beach, he distanced himself from Bill's Lighthouse, found a narrow cove, and placed the Nether Water Orb at the water's edge.
Occasional waves washed over it, submerging the orb, but as they receded, the orb resurfaced.
After about ten minutes, several Krabby emerged on the beach, with Magikarp leaping in the shallows.
Alex reclined on his beach chair, having released all three of his Pokémon.
Haunter used Hypnosis, causing many Krabby to lose combat ability, while Shiny Grimer wriggled toward lively Magikarp, directly absorbing them.
Beside Alex, Shiny Kakuna accompanied him, enjoying the sea breeze. Its constant staring annoyed him.
He gave it a light kick and applied the previously purchased Sonic Disruptor to accelerate its evolution. If it could evolve into a Shiny Beedrill, it might prove useful.
However, for now, Alex found it a bit bothersome!
This continued for a while. Haunter and Shiny Grimer both increased their combat power, reaching their daily limit. Alex retrieved the Nether Water Orb.
Just then, Alex heard a cry.
It seemed to echo from the ocean depths, reaching the ends of the earth... The sound made even Haunter, with combat power nearing a thousand points, shudder.
"Is that the mysterious Pokémon?"
