Hexa walked further from the castle with the unbuilt tent in her hands. Soon, she found a nice, flat grassy area next to the village.
She took the tent out of the bag and started at it. Had she ever thought she'd need the skill to build a tent someday? No. Does she have any idea how to do it? Ehh..
She took some kind of pole out of the bag and stuck it in the ground, then put some fabric and put it on top of it. Ending up with some kind of Native American-like tent didn't help when there was just one pole holding it up.
Soon, a recently familiar voice came from behind Hexa. "Are you trying to build a space rocket?" The person said, followed by a laugh.
Hexa turned around to see the familiar pink-haired soldier.
"I thought you would need help with this," Maya said, smiling from the laughter.
Maya took down whatever Hexa had contructed, and built a broper tent instead.
"There, much better. Now you can actually sleep there," Maya told Hexa.
"Thank you for helping. You got a name?" Hexa asked.
"Not allowed to tell personal info to people outside the legion, sorry," Maya said, her expression unreadable.
"Oh, then I suppose I'll call you firefly. Since you really lit up the darkness for me," Hexa said, her tone a little flirty.
Maya's tanned cheeks tinted a rosy color. "Oh, shut up. What kind of an idiot are you? Bugs as disgusting," she said, dropping the fake nice act entirely. "It's Maya," she informed.
"Maya..," Hexa said, testing out the name. "I like it, but still think firefly suits you well enough."
"Ugh. I'm happy I don't have to see your stupid face again," Maya blurted out.
Damn it. What if she finds out I want to kill her? Maya thought in slight panic, though not letting it show on her face. Her slight blush disappeared due to her blood running cold.
"How come? Because firefly, I was planning to visit the castle as much as I can," Hexa said, her smirk fading bit by bit.
"Forget it," Maya spat.
"Hey, Maya.. Why do you suddenly sound so different? Did something happen back in the castle?" Hexa said with a genuinely caring tone, her flirty demaur disappearing.
"No, this is my normal tone," Maya said defensively.
Hexa noticed the defensive tone in Maya's voice, so she placed a gentle, reassuring hand on her shoulder just for Maya, whose face was staring to get rosy again, to push it away.
"I don't want your stupid warmth," Maya said, glaring at Hexa.
"Aw, c'mon, firefly. Don't act so hard to get," Hexa said, pouting playfully. "And by the way, do you think the tent would fit two people? Hypothetically, I mean," Hexa said, her pout disappearing.
"I–I think so. Why are you asking? I thought you had two people with you," Maya blurted out.
"Oh, right. I forgot I wasn't here alone. Just asking. Nothing much," Hexa said, that smirk on her face again.
"You're hinting something, aren't you?" Maya said, her cheeks growing hot.
Hexa looked the taller woman up and down, before stepping closer to her, their faces close together and chests almost touching. Surprisingly, Maya didn't move away.
Maya leaned in. The cold demaur had disappeared under her flusteredness. Her eyes flickered down to Hexa's lips, wetting her on intict.
Hexa's voice softens. "Come here, firefly. I want to see that discipline up close," Hexa said, slowly closing her eyes as her lips clashed on Maya's.
Maya closed her eyes, tilting her head just right to deepen the kiss. The world seemed to disappear around them as their lips pressed harder on eachoter. Maya wrapped her arms around Hexa's waist, trying to get her closer.
They finally pulled away. Maya's face was flushed, but she still kept hold of Hexa's waist as they both gasped for air, before Hexa spoke.
"Look at me… good. I like you like this, firefly," she said seductively, her eyes full of heat. Maya let out a flustered squeak as she looked straight into Hexa's eyes.
"Stay with me tonight. Just us," Hexa said, bringing her hand to caress Maya's cheek.
Before Maya could answer, she was already pulled into the tent, the shorter woman's hands wandering all over her body. "A–Ah.." she managed to get out of her mouth as Hexa began to work her mouth on her neck. She was utterly helpless under her touch.
