That evening--The rain had calmed down--Though the grey cloud still etched with something darker--as a horse then rattled fiercely against the wind. They seemed to have reached a cornfield; there was a small yet beautiful cottage--Far away from the city--Like it was something sacred.
Finally, the horse slowed down with the command of the conductor.
They then reached the cottage--As the master had ordered them to--And waited.
Inside--
Eleanor packed up her things in a bag--Her hands were swift yet hesitant as she held on to it. Dominic emerged from behind, holding on to a cane as he called for her. Eleanor, daughter.
She turned and saw him holding a wool dress. Please accept this as my gift, he placed it in her hand. Eleanor's gaze fell to it--Then at him, she smiled warmly and hugged him.
Dominic hugged her back; his frail breath fanned against her.
"Thanks so much for everything father" she murmured. Dominic patted her back--Don't, daughter, don't mention it.
They then parted. Eleanor gazed at him--At how tears pooled on his gaze.
"Come on, daughter, it's time" Eleanor nodded as they both then stepped outside.
As soon as she did--The cold air kissed her cheek--as she pulled her hood down her face--Her gaze then flickered up the inky, night sky then at the carriage Infront of her.
She then turned to Dominic once more--He smiled at her as if to say "go, my daughter, there is a better future for you then here"
Eleanor replied to it by smiling as if to say, "I know my father...I know"
She then turned to the carriage once more and got in--She quickly settled in as she felt her heart thud against her ribs--the thud matching the rhythmic movement of the horse's steps as they then began to move forward in the dark--To a new beginning.
