Chapter 28 - Chapter 28

In the video—

Thor watched as the raft carrying his mother drifted farther and farther away, engulfed in flames. His eyes were filled with grief and rage. Without another word, he turned and left.

Inside the prison cell of Asgard—

"Well, well, isn't this my mighty brother? What brings you here all of a sudden? You know, this is the first time you've come to visit me since I was locked up," Loki said mockingly, his usual elegance and charm masking his smirk.

Thor, his expression cold and distant, said flatly, "Loki, drop your illusion."

Loki froze for a moment before his illusion shimmered away in green light. The cell's true appearance was revealed—chaotic and broken. Loki leaned weakly against the wall, blood at his feet, his face pale and worn.

"Was Mother at peace when she passed?" he asked quietly.

Thor removed his hood. "I'm going to the realm of the Dark Elves… to avenge her."

"Loki, you've betrayed me countless times. But this time… can I trust you? For Mother's sake."

Loki's eyes glinted with fury and pain. "You can trust my anger."

"Dark Elves?"

Watching the scene in the video, Thor's trembling hands slowly clenched into fists. "Those Dark Elves killed my mother? Damn it! I'll slaughter every last one of them so they can never harm her again!"

Having made up his mind, Thor decided that once the video ended, he would go to New Mexico, reclaim his hammer, return to Asgard—and annihilate the Dark Elves himself.

The video continued playing.

Inside a massive battleship, Loki glanced at Thor. "Are you sure you want to bring me to Earth? I don't think that's wise. After all, considering what I've done there… they don't exactly like me."

Thor chuckled and patted Loki's shoulder.

But before long, a gigantic ship suddenly attacked their vessel.

The scene shifted—bodies of Asgardian soldiers lay everywhere, and Thor, his hair now cut short, was held helplessly by the Mad Titan.

"Hand over the Tesseract," Thanos demanded. "Or I'll crush your brother's skull."

Loki, standing before the Titan, forced a calm smile. "Go ahead. Kill him."

Thanos' expression flickered with mild surprise before he pressed the Power Stone against Thor's head. Purple energy surged, and Thor screamed in agony.

Just as his head was about to burst apart, Loki could no longer hold back. "Enough! Stop it!" he shouted desperately. "The Tesseract isn't here—it was destroyed along with Asgard!"

But before Thor could react, Loki raised his hand, conjuring his magic. The Tesseract appeared out of thin air.

Seeing it, Thor spat blood and glared weakly at his brother. "You… really are the worst brother…"

Loki's expression softened. "I promise you, brother—the sun will shine on Asgard again."

The camera cut.

Loki stood before Thanos once more, seemingly kneeling in submission. But behind his back, his hand glowed as he formed a dagger from pure magic.

"I, Loki, Prince of Asgard, Son of Odin, rightful King of Jotunheim… God of Mischief."

He turned to glance at Thor, eyes filled with resolve.

"I offer you my undying loyalty…"

In a flash, Loki lunged—aiming the dagger at Thanos' throat.

But the blade froze in midair, stopped by the power of the Infinity Stone.

"Undying?" Thanos sneered, grabbing Loki by the neck and lifting him effortlessly. "You should choose your words more carefully."

"You'll… never be… a god…" Loki choked out.

With a sickening snap, Thanos broke Loki's neck and dropped his body to the ground like garbage.

"No!!!" Thor roared, leaping from his seat in the theater.

In that moment, he no longer cared that Loki was adopted. He no longer cared about the betrayals.

All he saw was his brother—murdered before his eyes.

In another theater—

Natasha frowned deeply as the footage played.

"What exactly did Loki do to make Earth hate him?" she muttered.

And Thor—his hair was short in the video. What had happened between then and now?

When Nick Fury brought Thor to Washington and assigned him to me, I even offered to help him get his hair trimmed, but he refused—said no one could touch his hair!

And now… he's wearing an eyepatch? Did someone actually blind him?

There were too many details—too many mysteries. Natasha wished she could record it all.

The video reached its end.

On-screen, the streets of Manhattan were in ruins. Alien corpses littered the ground.

Thor, holding Loki in chains, nodded to the others before vanishing in the light of the Bifröst.

Tony Stark looked around the team. "Well, folks, the Battle of New York is finally over. We beat the alien invasion. I gotta say, that was intense—I almost didn't make it back from that wormhole."

He straightened his tie and added casually, "Anyway, I ordered some shawarma. Let's go grab a bite. Wait… where's Linen?"

Everyone exchanged glances.

"Linen was just here," Natasha said. "I'll go find her."

In a nearby shop—

Linen watched Thor and Loki vanish, then removed the Judge's mask from her face. "Why did you come looking for me?" she asked quietly to the empty air.

"Because only you can understand all of this."

A faint green light flickered behind her, and Loki appeared, wearing a TVA insignia on his chest.

"To be honest," he said, "I really wanted to use this chance to see my mother again. But I can't. Even though I miss her dearly."

"My mother was raised by a witch. The moment she looks into my soul, she'll know I'm not the Loki from this timeline."

"So, Linen," Loki continued with a faint smile, "I'll leave it to you—to save her from the Dark Elves in the future."

He spread his arms wide, his tone teasing again. "As a thank-you, I've prepared a little surprise for you—on the day Pompeii meets its end. A gift… an Infinity Stone."

"Oh, and one more thing—let Thanos snap his fingers. Let it happen. It's fate. I know billions will die… but that act will delay the arrival of 'God.'"

"And you, Linen—you'll have the power to bring them all back."

Loki turned to leave, pausing for just a moment. "Your friend's coming. See you next time."

With that, he vanished into thin air.

Natasha appeared moments later. "What are you doing here? Tony's already waiting with shawarma. After a fight like that, we could all use a meal."

Linen nodded silently, following her out.

The video ended, and the theater lights flickered back on.

Natasha, however, didn't move from her seat.

"It all connects…" she whispered. "It's just like the last video. No wonder Linen said she could stop the Snap but chose not to."

"But what exactly is this 'God's Appearance'? Could it really be something worse than losing billions of lives?"
