"Alright. I will be there."
With Kayla insisting so much, Leo couldn't find any excuses.
"Lord Lancer will be outside your room. He will guide you."
Kayla disconnected the call, and immediately after, Leo heard a knock on his door.
"Aren't they moving a little too fast? Just what could have happened? Don't tell me they finally found out the dark truth about the Elixirs?"
Leo rubbed his temples, and stood up. With each passing second, the bad feeling inside his heart was only getting stronger.
"Give me a minute to get ready."
He didn't know what was going to happen. He prepared himself for the worst.
He wore the jacket that he had brought with himself, patting his empty pockets a few times. Even now, he hadn't used any of the clothes that the Guild had delivered to the large wardrobe in his room.
"I really hope that I'm overthinking." On his way out, he picked up the dry lemon that he had subconsciously started treating as his good luck charm.
He kept the lemon in his jacket's pocket and opened the door.
Lancer was waiting for him outside, dressed just as lavishly as last time. His sunglasses were a different shade this time, but they still suited his charming face as much.
"Shall we get going?" Lancer asked Leo, gesturing towards the list.
"Can I ask what this is about?" Leo walked besides Lancer, throwing a question.
"We will find out soon enough. Unfortunately, Blaze isn't here. Otherwise, this would've been more interesting." Lancer's face didn't show much reaction, but his voice carried a hint of seriousness.
He kept glancing at Leo again and again, something clearly going through his mind.
Lancer brought Leo inside the lift, and tapped his key card on the access panel. The destination was the thousandth floor of the Hero Tower, a place where the Guild's Executives gathered to take important decisions that could have serious implications for the Guild's future.
The doors of the lift opened on the thousands floor, throwing Leo off guard.
"This is the thousandth floor?"
Beyond the lift's opened doors wasn't a mere floor. It was like the lift had connected with another world entirely.
There was a clear blue sky high above with clouds scarcely scattered across. Occasionally, silhouettes of unknown creatures could be seen flying through the sky.
"That's right. This is the thousandth floor." Lancer stepped out of the lift. "Amazing, isn't it?"
Leo followed Lancer, looking around. Even the air of this place felt different. It was as if the lift had connected to an entire different reality.
Leo's feet touched the grass, and he lost control of his body. An unknown force grabbed his body, making him levitate in the air.
"Don't resist this force. It'll be taking us to our destination faster."
Lancer also relaxed his body, letting the force lift his body. Unlike Blaze, Lancer couldn't fly. But still, he was completely relaxed as his body rose in the sky, like he had gone through this multiple times.
After the two rose sufficiently in the sky, their bodies were propelled forward.
The experience truly made Leo feel like he was flying through the sky.
Sharp winds brushed against Leo's skin, making his hair flutter all over the place. But this was still an experience that left Leo mesmerized.
'Is this what the heroes that can fly feel? It would've been so convenient if I could actually fly.'
The unknown force protected his body. Even as he was flying faster than light at the moment, he didn't feel even the slightest discomfort. The unknown force had created a shield around his body.
Beneath him, Leo felt the surroundings change. It went from a barren land to greenery all over the place. He even flew over a city that looked like it had been abandoned, with rubble and broken buildings all over the place.
Not far from the ruined city, he saw a skeleton lying on its back. The skeleton didn't belong to a human. No, it just couldn't belong to a human since no human was so large.
Even the smallest bone of the skeleton was a thousand feet long. If counting the height of the entire skeleton, Leo had a feeling that it would've been taller than the entire Hero Tower.
Even more shocking was that this wasn't the only skeleton. Along the way, he came across many such skeletons. Some had humanoid structure, while others had beastly shapes.
"What is this place?" Leo really wanted to ask Lancer, but he didn't think that Lancer could even hear him with the loud sounds of winds.
Within minutes, Leo had traveled the distance that could easily be called larger than the length of a continent on earth. Fortunately, the journey did come to an end.
In the distance, he saw a colosseum that looked similar to the one created in prehistoric Rome.
They started descending as they reached the colosseum. Eventually, both of them landed in the middle of the colosseum.
"Is he the one?"
"He doesn't look like a scammer. I guess we can't judge them by their faces, can we?"
"He is just my type. What a pity."
Leo's gaze roamed around, and he saw that there were at least ten thousand people sitting across the colosseum.
Leo even recognized a few faces in the crowd. They were Heroes! He could even see Heroes that were in the top ten, sitting in the front row.
At least five out of the top ten heroes were present in his place. As for the rest, they were uncountable. It was like almost all the Heroes, excluding a few had gathered in the colosseum.
There was one person that was sitting before the heroes in the top ten. A special seat was arranged for the person, who looked to be in his early fifties.
Even if he was to ignore the heroes, there were still many other people present in the field. And most of them were wearing a white coat of the Tower's Scientists.
"You are finally here, you fraud!" A white robed man shouted out loud.
