The next morning, Julian woke up to the delicious smell of cooking coming from the kitchen. He sat up, initially thinking it was his mother's cooking. But then he realized that he no longer lived with his parents.
"Who is cooking something that smells this good? Could it be him?" he muttered in disbelief, then got out of bed and went to the kitchen.
In the kitchen, he saw a red haired man busy cooking with an apron tied around his waist.
Noticing someone walking into the kitchen, he turned around and found Julian, who had just woken up, looking sleepy. His hair messy, and still wearing his bear pajamas.
"Look at yourself, it's already past 6:15 a.m. and you woke up late?" he said, holding a spatula in his hand.
"I usually wake up at 7:00 a.m. It's still too early for me to wake up," replied Julian, stretching his body and yawning sleepily.
"What are you cooking?" he asked as he walked over to him.
Arcane replied that he was making fried rice with shrimp in it. "I hope you're not allergic to seafood. Because that's my favorite food, and you'll probably find food like that almost every day."
Knowing this, Julian waved his hand and said that he was not allergic to seafood at all. He was actually allergic to apples.
"You're allergic to apples? I've never heard of anyone being allergic to apples," commented Arcane.
"I don't understand why I'm allergic to apples either. When I was 5 years old, I saw my friends eating apples that had been cut into rabbit shapes. Then I asked my mother to do the same, but when I ate it, I had an allergic reaction," replied Julian.
This caused him to have difficulty breathing and his skin became red and rashy due to the allergic reaction. Since then, he has never eaten apples again, and his mother has always kept him away from anything containing apples.
"I see. Apples have so many vitamins that are good for your body. But what can you do? For someone like you, they're poison. I'll keep the apples I buy in the fridge separate, so you don't touch them." The man continued cooking and placed two plates of seafood fried rice on the table.
Seeing the delicious fried rice, especially its fragrant aroma, caught Julian's attention, and he immediately tasted it. He was amazed by how delicious the fried rice was and didn't expect Arcane to be able to cook so well.
"I didn't know you could cook this well. Why didn't you do it last night?"
"Since morning, I've been tired from tidying up the room for you to stay in, then from noon until evening we went out to take care of the marriage license. By nightfall, I didn't have the energy to cook. That's why I just ordered food delivery," replied Arcane.
He also said that he would be leaving that day because he was going to enroll in a girls' school not far from their current home.
Hearing this, Julian was still curious as to why Arcane had chosen to enroll as a teacher at that school. There were many other schools that definitely needed math teachers.
'Is it because the salary is high? Or could it be that there is a girl he has his eye on at that school?' he thought suspiciously as he stared at him.
Feeling that he was being stared at uncomfortably, he immediately turned to Julian and tapped his forehead with the spoon he was holding.
Julian was startled when his forehead was gently tapped with the spoon in Arcane's hand. Reflexively, he rubbed his forehead, grumbling in annoyance at being hit like that out of the blue.
"Why did you hit me? I didn't say anything to you, but you suddenly hit me like that. What kind of husband are you? We just got married and you're already being violent," he said.
"I only hit your forehead gently. Besides, why are you looking at me like that, as if I were a criminal in this house?"
"I'm just curious! What made you want to become a teacher at that girls' school? Are you stalking a girl who goes there?" Julian asked suspiciously.
He was now worried that he was helping someone commit a crime by easily entering the school. Especially since it was full of very young teenage girls, while Arcane was a 26 year old adult male.
Once again, the man tapped Julian on the forehead with his spoon because he thought he was committing a crime against a teenage girl.
"Next time, think before you speak. I'm not trying to get in there because I'm after a girl. So don't talk nonsense like that!"
Julian's lips pouted because once again he got hit on the forehead, even though it was just a light tap.
But he felt relieved that Arcane hadn't signed up to approach anyone at the school.
Then what was his reason for going there?
He tried to ask that question, but Arcane changed the subject by telling Julian to wash the dishes after he ate.
"Like I said before, you do your own part. So you wash the dishes and glasses you used, including washing your own clothes. Do you understand?" he asked in a firm tone.
"Yes. I understand."
The math teacher nodded contentedly, then took his plate and glass to wash them before finally tidying up his clothes and getting ready to go to school.
Julian, who saw Arcane getting ready for work, immediately stood up from his seat and grabbed his bag.
What the man did actually amused Arcane. "You don't have to do that. Are you trying to be a good husband, huh?"
Julian's face immediately turned red when the man teased him like that.
"I'm just returning your kindness! You made breakfast for me, so getting your bag is no problem! If you don't like it, I won't do it again!" he said, turning his face away.
"I'm not saying I don't like it. It's just that you don't have to force yourself to do things you don't want to do."
He put on his shoes and was about to leave the house. However, his steps stopped when he grabbed the doorknob and turned to look at Julian standing behind him.
"Why are you still here instead of finishing your breakfast? Are you waiting for a kiss from me, hm?"
Julian's face flushed red again, and he looked panicked.
"I'm not waiting for that! Just go already! You're so annoying!"
Without saying another word, Arcane laughed and walked out of the house, leaving Julian alone inside.
"Now what am I supposed to do?"
