Prom day arrived with perfect weather and maximum chaos.
I woke up at 7 AM to Sophie calling, already in crisis mode. "The salon moved my appointment! I need your slot! Can we switch?"
"Sophie, it's seven in the morning"
"THIS IS AN EMERGENCY!"
By the time I stumbled downstairs, still in pajamas, Aunt Maria had already started preparing an elaborate breakfast. Maya sat at the table, bouncing with excitement despite the early hour.
"Is it time yet?" Maya asked. "Can we start getting ready?"
"Prom isn't until seven tonight, May-May," I said, pouring coffee.
"But the getting ready is the best part!" She had a point. Sophie had created an entire schedule for "prom prep," complete with color-coded time blocks.
Kai emerged from the guest room, hair disheveled, looking like he'd barely slept. "Please tell me Sophie isn't calling everyone at dawn."
"Just me, apparently. You're safe."
