Chapter 2 - Echoes Of Past

The voice was deep and isolated. He began to sense his surrounding but not a single creature was present. He was puzzled yet no emotion was revealed.

"Who is it?

The voice rang again now from his very soul. It was not distinct but very well known. It was his own voice. He shuddered at the very thought.

"Tsk. If you had come even one day earlier, you would have gotten the manual". A chilling voice could be heard from his soul. "I held The Heavenly Six Path cultivation manual to that boy". His voice low. "It's a pity my soul is binded to the manual I cannot give you anything". He voice full of agnoy and restraint. "It seems fate doesn't want you to bear that manual". He paused for a second.

Han Ren blinked twice, confused. His eyes narrowed. His voice full of envy but no emotion could be felt. "Then why did you set this test again?".

'If It was true that someone had already gotten the manual why would you come back here. The test should conclude.'

His voice soar, "Do you just come back here to erase the test?''.

The voice felt silent. After a pause. It replied. "Yes".

Han Ren world crumble, 'then why did I have to get in this trouble.'

He tried to clench his fist, but his fist was no longer present.

"Don't worry, I can heal your injury completely". The sound was now completely silent. SWOOSH!.

Suddenly, a gust of wind carrying an enormous Qi were shot towards him. His body was now fully covered in wind. The separated part was being healed. His whole body was going through a modification. He could feel his injured arms and legs being healed. It just felt as if he was making a breakthrough.

Eh!

My arms. My leg. It's growing back.

It was a miracle. But even if his internal injuries, meridians were healed, that was not the case for his shattered dantian.

The voice was now fading away. "If fate wants we will meet again, Young boy". The voice was completely gone.

Han Ren didn't gain anything. His body was reverted to normal except one thing. Dantian was very important for cultivators. It was their very life without it one could not practice martial arts. Qi is stored in the dantian. Dantian grew stronger, each realm you transcend.

'What a pity', he didn't cursed the heavens but his own luck and desperation. No memory no any opportunities. He was left alone in this cursed world.

But one thing was clear, his body was now strong. He stared at the tall tree beside him. Pulled his hand and thrust his palm towards the tree. Crack! The strength was otherworldly. The tree itself had fallen, but not his palm. He could not feel any Qi inside his dantian but he could make his fist stronger. He was not any ordinary guy in the previous world. He was the head of a criminal organization himself. He knew basis of fighting.

He chuckled, "That guy power must have done it". The envy he had was inevitable. The one who got the manual must be truly strong. He cannot fathom yet.

Now it was time to look for the Han sect.

After wandering the mountains for one and half hour. He finally saw a young lady. Her face was like a jade itself. Eyes sharper and colder. She was just practicing some sword moves. Of course Han Ren could not recognize it.

After watching for a while. She seemed to have notice him.

"Han Ren ?''.

He was confused. Someone actually knew him. More than that it was truly shocking that this body had the same name as him. He didn't expect that.

"Why are you zoning out", a cold yet well known voice broke his thoughts.

"The training grounds is in opposite way", she continued "just go elder MO will be angry at you again". Her voice was distinct yet comforting. It's as if she was being concerned about Han Ren.

After a moment of silence, he nodded and slowly turned away.

A faint voice echoed in his head, it was not distinct yet it felt lonely. A sudden shock struck his head. His vision blurred, breathing unstable. He was again transported to the very void before his reincarnation. He felt as if his memories were puzzled or erased by someone. Sudenly his whole body was dragged inside the void. After a while everything was silent. He slowly opened his eyes, what he saw unrecognizable.

A man was running in a rain, his body coiled with blood. There were visible cuts in his robe. His face was swollen from running in the cold. The surprising thing was he was carrying a infant in his hand. His body covered in red fabric. But his face could be slightly be seen but unrecognizable due to the rain. The man slowly left the baby at the main gate of Han Sect.

He veins pulsed, heart raced faster, another light struck his head. Urgh! Suddeny he was dragged to the void again.

The scene shifted to Han sect. The infant was now a grown man. The face resembled him. A sudden realization strike him. It was Han Ren past that he was seeing.

Thud!

The boy was pushed. There were four figures before him. They were just tormenting him. The four of them continuously beat him, until his face swollen. One twisted his arms. Other three broke his legs until he could move again. Another guy came from behind, his arms chocked Han Ren neck. Another one threw a boiled water, towards his hand.

But not a single cry, nor any hint of fear affected him. The scene was rather disgusting. The lone figure could do nothing. He could only watch. Ultimately Han Ren died.

He was suddenly thrown back to reality. The scene did made him feel anything but his look was that of a disdain and disgust. If it were him in that place he would not die that pathetic death.

Everyone was different. Human beings are like water, they could fit in anything yet don't belong to it. They could be shape to anything but not sustain it. The scene was truly sad and pathetic.

Han Ren had made his mind he was going to make an example out of them. He was not a justice hero nor a god. But one thing was clear the body was now his. And the ones who dared to look down on him will surely go to their's ruins.
