Chapter 16 - asteroid

On the planet Tofra, everything was looking peaceful, whereas deep in the forest, a huge mountain was covered with a layer of mist. If anybody saw it, they would think it was a natural phenomenon.

Sigurd looked toward the huge hole in the mountain where everyone was busy mining, whereas he himself had been practicing with his sword with more instinct as he wielded his spear.

"Looks like I need to fight different living beings for experience; otherwise, breaking through my fighting instinct won't be successful."

Sigurd was deep in his thoughts. "Sakaar is the only place where there will be a fighting competition. Other places don't have any opportunities for life and death battles, and if there are, I still can't pinpoint the planet. After all, the universe is way too big for me to search for one planet.

Not every planet has a detailed location for him to go, after all; even comic writers didn't write about those places. Should I ask my brothers or wait for the weapon to be completed, then travel to different parts of the universe?"

Just when Sigurd was in deep thought, a huge energy beam moved toward the planet, and Odin appeared with Frigga, along with King Eitri.

"Brother, it looks like you stopped all the work of Asgard, so even my sister-in-law and King Eitri came together. Or do you want to have some personal time with sister-in-law, but Eitri shouldn't be coming along."

Sigurd looked at his brother and wanted to tease him.

Odin looked at his brother, who rarely speaks with others whom he doesn't know, but when he is with him, he even starts to tease. Then he looked at him and spoke.

"Don't think everything in the world has meaning. I wanted to bring Frigga. Just look at the planet and see what was rare—to have such a large deposit of vibranium—and you speak about the work on Asgard. You have been traveling since I got married, and I can't even take a step out of Asgard."

Frigga, who heard the words of both brothers, knew that both of them are the type who prefer to travel and have adventures rather than stay on their home planet doing nothing.

"Can you guys be more mature? One of you is already married, and you guys are so powerful but still bicker as if you were kids. Think what future generations will think of you if you behave like that."

King Eitri spoke as if he were frustrated.

Sigurd came to the side of King Eitri.

"What happened to the energetic King? You look like you have been hit by a dying star—even your eyes can't open properly."

"Don't speak nonsense, boy. It's all due to your different plans and demands that I am wrecking my brain. But you are in luck. The weapon you demanded might be created early, but there will still be a long time. However, I've got the general idea; now I just need to practically make it."

Sigurd looked at King Eitri with surprise.

"So you are working on my weapon. Good, finally I will have something to look forward to."

Frigga looked at them, only to see Sigurd and Odin forget the main reason for them arriving here.

"Guys, if you are done talking about weapons, then we can look at the planet to see if there is something that the machine radar missed."

Then they all walked toward the mine, only to see a large amount of ore had been extracted.

Odin looked at his brother.

"In just three years, all the ore has been collected. What are your plans? To leave a few in the future, if there is a chance, can the mine form again?"

Sigurd heard the words but didn't reply quickly and thought of a future where people were enslaved to mine the ore without any precaution, which destroyed the whole planet and led to it being called a poison planet.

"Brother, no need to leave anything related to vibranium; otherwise, in the future, if anyone in the universe finds out about the ore, it might be dangerous for the native living beings. After all, not everyone cares about living beings if they are benefiting."

Frigga heard the words and then said,

"I think Sigurd is right; if we leave even a small amount, it might cause big problems for the natives."

Odin heard his brother and wife and decided.

"Okay, we won't leave anything on the planet. If possible, we will erase the evidence of vibranium ore here. Frigga, can you use your magic to see if there is anything that caused the vibranium ore to form?"

Frigga came to the center of the ore, where she started to harness energy to look around the ore with her magic. She spent two hours observing the whole surroundings, only to find nothing.

"I don't feel any presence of natural ore formation here. It looks like the mine did not originate here, but as if it crashed from the sky on an asteroid."

Sigurd heard the words and then thought of Wakandan vibranium, which also came to Earth millions of years ago when an asteroid crashed, so it might be of the same origin.

Then he thought of something: if the asteroid with such a small mass crashed on Tofra, then there might be more ore, but he himself wasn't sure.

Odin heard the words Frigga spoke.

"It might have fallen here due to the destruction of a certain realm, which led to this ore being here. But I don't think it's possible to locate the destroyed asteroid. Even looking at the ore, the destruction might have happened a long time ago, so it will be difficult."

Odin looked toward Sigurd and then asked.

"How long will it take to completely mine the ore? We need to start to pack up everything and leave this place. After all, this place is near the Spartax Empire. If they see Bifrost energy frequently, it will be difficult."

Sigurd then called the person in charge of the mining, and they learned that it would take around a week to completely mine the ore. This time, even Odin, Frigga, and King Eitri didn't leave the planet.

It had been more than a week; today was the day when everyone would return back to Asgard.

Odin looked at the people who stored all the ore in spaceship containers; then everyone entered the spaceship. He looked toward the outside just to verify if anyone was left behind.

"Everyone is onboard, right?"

Then he turned his spear toward the sky.

"Bifrost."
