Chapter 2 - Acting Haughty in front of a Scammer God and his followers

"Good Afternoon, Mr. Fool~" Audrey greeted cheerfully, lifting her skirt courteously. She soon turned towards the other members, greeting them ceremoniously.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Sun, Mr. Hanged Man… Huh!" Audrey paused, looking at the foot of the table at a figure that crossed his legs on the table arrogantly.

Audrey's sudden yelp caused the other members to turn their heads. Their eyes widened in surprise.

The figure looked imposing although not as imposing as Mr. Fool. He had deep red eyes that emanated through the gray fog trying to conceal him.

Looking at their gazes, Casper couldn't help but chuckle. He raised his fingers and waved to them.

Alger and Derrick were stunned at the man's actions, unable to fathom the sheer disrespect towards Mr. Fool.

How can he be so haughty in front of a God!The thought passed through both their minds.

While Alger and Derrick were stunned, Audrey took the chance to observe the man using her powers of a Spectator.

Suddenly, Casper's gaze turned towards her — feeling an intrusion in his Spirit Body. In a loud and thundering voice, he said, "Know your place!"

The sound resounded through the gray fog as Justice Audrey clutched her head in pain, feeling the voice resound in her mind.

Seeing her disgruntled expression, Casper couldn't help but think, I can muster this much authority in Sefirah Castle?

The other members instantly stiffened, their gazes darting between Audrey, who trembled slightly, and the crimson-eyed stranger who now sat with calm indifference.

He's definitely a God! And judging by Mr. Fool's indifference, 'He' might be 'His' friend.

This thought passed through the minds of all the Tarot Club members unanimously.

Klein looked at him, happy that his back wasn't exposed or else everyone could see the cold sweat staining his shirt.

"I am letting you act freely, Mr. Emperor." Klein's calm yet distant voice resounded. "But remember where you are."

Alger, Audrey and Derrick caught the slight honorific Klein used to address 'Him', affirming their suspicions even more.

Casper raised his hands, an amused smile resting on his lips. "I only reacted to being watched. Isn't that fair, Mr. Fool?"

Audrey, regaining her composure, forced herself to bow slightly. "My apologies, sir. I didn't mean to offend." Her tone was soft but tinged with curiosity

He waved his hand dismissively.

"Curiosity isn't a sin — remember not to try and observe every person you meet. More often than not, that'll end badly."

Seeing both Mr. Emperor and Mr. Fool address each other with similiar honorifics. Alger didn't dare to raise a question about who he was.

Is 'He' Mr. Fool's old friend or an acquaintance.'

Klein on the other hand was fuming. Not only was the uninvited visitor immune to his mod powers of kicking but he was also able to exert slight influence over the Mysterious Space above the Gray Fog.

Although The Emperor's influence was quite weak, it still made Klein wary.

Klein directed his gaze towards all of them, he could vaguely understand their thoughts. Realizing how far the conspiracies could go, he felt it was better to get ahead of the narrative.

"He's an old acquaintance of mine. That is all you should know."

Casper grinned, "Acquaintance isn't that hurtful? I thought we were the best of friends!"

He said with faux disbelief, clutching his chest theatrically.

Audrey, Alger, and Derrick instantly lowered their heads, afraid that a wrong glance might provoke another overwhelming reaction.

Klein's lips twitched behind the veil of the fog.

Audrey, Alger and Derrick shot each other nervous looks before deciding to break the awkward silence that settled.

"Mr. Emperor, Mr. Fool," Alger turned towards the two Deities, "I have obtained nineteen pages of Roselle's diaries this time."

Hearing the Hanged Man's words, Klein felt the urge to beat him up. You didn't need to tell that bastard!

"I must thank you for sending your adorer to get rid of Qilangos, Mr. Fool. These diary pages are my compensation."

Casper did read about that in the paper, though he didn't pay much attention to it as he was too busy working his ass off to earn 300 pounds.

Klein nodded.

Upon seeing Mr. Fool's reaction, Alger continued, "The limit of my current memory is six pages. Please allow me to give it to you later."

"No problem." Klein said gently.

Soon, the six pages were manifested and flew to Klein's hand. At that moment, Klein wanted to test a theory.

Hence, he produced another copy before Casper.

Sly little bastard. Casper thought with a click of his tongue before deciding to reveal the fact that he was a transmigrator. He needed to win the dear Mr. Fool's trust after all. But invading his Castle probably did not make a good first introduction.

Casper picked up the pages and added, "God, it's been Epochs since I've seen this language." He muttered loud enough for everyone to hear.

Instantly, everyone's attention was drawn to the engrossed Casper.

Klein's eyes widened, So he is a transmigrator! Epochs…. So he has been here a lot longer than me huh?

Suddenly Klein had a grim thought, Has he still not found a way to escape this world after Epochs? Does this mean I'm stuck here.

Klein's face instantly fell as he pondered his words.

On the other hand, Audrey and Alger were both surprised. So it's a language! Not a code! They thought at the same moment.

Derrick just tilted his head, he frankly had no clue who Roselle was and what his diary entailed. So he sat there twiddling his thumb.

Thank God, I learned Chinese in college due to my fascination with lotm or else I would be finished!
