Chapter 3 - Getting Benefits, imitating Goat Yuan

Casper looked through the diary lazily, it didn't hold any information that was beneficial to him. It was just about Goat Abraham, the War of the Four Emperors, Fraudtul, explaining the Beyonder Laws, some political drama and his rant about how the Savant Pathway sucked.

As Casper yawned, Audrey excitedly spoke up. "Mr. Fool, did Emperor Roselle mention some general knowledge? I'm willing to pay for this!"

However I want it to be communicated privately. She added in her heart.

Upon hearing her question, Casper had another problem.

He could easily become a millionaire by scamming — no, selling Audrey some information at exorbitant — no, at a reasonable price.

But, he had already established himself as a God. He could not be a poor God who asked for funds, so how the hell could he trade for money?

While Casper was pondering the answer to his question. Klein chuckled, his laughter booming throughout Sefirah Castle as he tried to reassert his dominance.

"There's no need, this is very simple knowledge, after all.

"After reading this page, I feel it's very necessary for you to know this. Of course, I'm very certain that some of you are already aware of this."

He said, furtively glancing at Casper.

Klein rapped the table before describing the laws, "The first law is the Beyonder Law of Characteristics Indestructibility. The characteristics of a Beyonder are neither destroyed nor reduced. It's only passed down from one generation to the next."

Klein momentarily paused, probably building up for dramatic effect, "After a Rampager dies, they'll leave behind a Beyonder Characteristic. These can be used as the main ingredients for potions."

He continued in a calm tone, "The second piece of general knowledge—Law of Similar Sequence Beyonder Characteristics Conservation."

"Why Similar Sequence?" Alger couldn't help but ask.

Klein smiled and replied, "What do you wish to pay for the answer?"

"Mr. Fool, what kind of payment do you want?" Alger asked helplessly

"Yes, yes!" Audrey nodded her head nearly indiscernibly but very frequently, indicating that this was something she wanted to ask as well.

Klein paused before answering with a faint smile, "Information on the Secret Order."

After a few seconds of silence, Alger looked at Mr. Fool, deliberating his words, "I will accept this request and help you gather information regarding the Secret Order."

"Can you make the 'payment' in advance?"

"No problem." Alger replied without hesitation. "If Mr. Fool provides information exceeding the information. I'll compensate you in other ways." He said hesitantly.

Klein laughed, "Sure. The so-called Similar Sequence refers to how high sequences are exchangeable with other pathways."

"An example is Sequence 5 of the Death Pathway, Gatekeeper can switch to the Giant Pathways Sequence 4, same with the Darkness Pathway."

After seeing Klein stopped his explanation, feeling content. Casper quickly realised he didn't know the Third Law.

"Mr. Fool, you forgot the Third Law. It's okay to make mistakes, after Epochs, everyone's memory starts failing."

Klein was suddenly flustered, his cheeks flushed red but he quickly regained his bearings.

"Hmm, why don't you explain, Mr. Emperor. After all, it seems I don't remember it well."

Casper nodded, "The Third Law states that High-Sequence items of the same pathway or group intermittently and unconsciously draw Low- and Mid-Sequence Beyonders to them. Even those Beyonders who are not High-Sequence can feel this attraction."

Hearing Casper's explanation, Audrey, Alger and Derrick thanked him.

Derrick paused for a moment, considering his words. He asked quickly, "Uh, Mr. Emperor. Do you think that a Sequence 4 Beyonder of The Twilight Giant Pathway can find the Sequence 3 formula?"

Casper looked at the brutishly tall kid, feeling a little jealous. "Depends. If there are Sequence 3 characteristics of people nearby. Sure. If not, tough luck kiddo."

"I see…. Thank you, Mr. Emperor." Derrick said with a slight bow.

Audrey followed suit. "Mr. Emperor, Mr. Fool. Do you know which pathways neighbour the Spectator pathway?"

Klein brushed it off with his amazing fraud skills. Saying nothing.

Seeing that Audrey would quickly withdraw her request. Casper spoke up.

"I can answer this."

Audrey's and Alger's attention quickly turned towards him.

"Really? Thank you, Mr. Emperor."

"But, since this information isn't really mainstream. So it's going to be a little expensive."

Audrey nodded, "The price doesn't matter, Mr. Emperor."

There's the Tarot Club's atm at play. Now, I can't price it too high or else her impression of me will sour nor too low that I make nothing of this deal.

"Let's say, 900 pounds."

As his words fell, Alger straightened up while Klein's eyes widened. Thankfully, the gray fog protected him from being exposed.

This is daylight robbery at its finest! Is this the benefits of treading the Demonic path?! Klein questioned bitterly.

"Thats fine with me, Mr. Emperor." Audrey said without a care in the world.

Casper's eyes softened as he looked at Audrey as if she was his saviour.

He then turned towards Alger, "Aren't you going to get in on this action? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity you know."

Klein's face instantly darkened upon seeing Casper trying to scam — no, trick another person. He must've been truly despicable in the past.

Alger thought for a moment, considering his choices before nodding with strain. His bank account was going to be stretched thin.

Casper grinned. Everything was coming up Walsh.

"The Spectator Pathway neighbours four other pathways," Casper said slowly.

Klein too leaned forward, eager to steal his knowledge. Truly something the beggar God would do.

"These pathways are — Reader, Secrets Suppliant, Bard, and Sailor."

Upon hearing his answer, Klein's face twisted, realizing he got 1800 pounds with the same answer. He couldn't help but think, 'This bastard was truly a demon.'
