Crew Mark was arranging books in the cabinet when a school bully walked past and shoved him to the ground.
The bully looked at the fallen Crew and let out a mocking laugh.
Just as he turned his head away after mocking him, Peter appeared right in front of him.
Peter said, "Help him up and apologize."
The bully stared at Peter, then reluctantly helped Crew up and said, "Sorry."
After speaking, the bully angrily walked past Peter.
Peter stepped forward and asked Crew, "Are you okay?"
Crew nodded and said, "Thank you."
With that, Crew walked out of the school gate.
Max Heimer came to Peter's side. While walking, Max said, "Actually, you didn't need to help him."
Peter asked, "Who?"
Max replied, "Crew."
Peter continued, "Why?"
Max said, "He's really good with computers. Last month he hacked into the bully's phone and leaked everything inside—selfies, and even a video of the bully doing his thing. Everything got exposed."
Peter asked, "Are you serious?"
Max continued, "For real. The only reason the bully didn't go after him is because after that… let's say, 'self-pleasuring' video got leaked, a lot of girls started liking him. So the bully kind of had to thank Crew."
Peter chuckled, "What the hell."
Just then, police sirens blared outside.
Peter said to Max, "I need to go check it out."
Max quickly replied, "Okay, go! Go!"
Peter ran toward the balcony, quickly changed into his suit, put on his mask, and leaped off.
He shouted excitedly, "Hooooooo!"
Meanwhile, fire trucks were heading to the accident site.
Spider-Man suddenly appeared outside the fire truck's passenger window. "Where's the location?" he asked.
The firefighter looked ahead in panic, then back at Peter. "Watch out!"
A parrot flew over Peter's head; he dodged swiftly, climbed onto the roof, and saw a swarm of animals running wildly through the streets.
At that moment, a man wearing Joker makeup appeared, riding a horse. Peter stared at him cautiously.
The Joker grinned and shouted, "Surprise! Hahahahahahaha!"
He burst into manic laughter and picked up a rocket launcher, firing it.
Peter reacted instantly—jumping off the fire truck, shooting a web to stick onto the incoming missile, and swinging along with it.
Eventually, the missile slowed down. Spider-Man gently caught it and carefully placed it on the ground.
Peter turned to look for the Joker, but a horse's butt suddenly filled his view. The Joker slapped the horse, and it kicked Spider-Man straight onto a car.
Peter lay on the roof in pain.
The Joker looked at him and said, "Hello, Spider-Man."
He glanced at the missile beside them, picked it up, and said, "Can't waste this."
He reloaded it into the launcher, rode a little farther, and then fired at Spider-Man.
Watching the incoming missile, Spider-Man shot out a web and swung away.
Boom! The shockwave knocked him to the ground.
He listened to the Joker's laughter fade into the distance before he completely passed out.
"Beep… beep… beep…"
Peter slowly opened his eyes. Aunt May was the first person he saw. She rushed forward and hugged him tightly.
Beside her, Max shouted, "Doctor! Doctor!"
Soon after, Aunt May asked, "You're Spider-Man… why didn't you tell me?"
Peter said, "I didn't want you to worry."
Aunt May cried, "But this—this makes me even more worried."
Peter looked at her and said softly, "I'm sorry."
He turned to Max and asked, "Did they catch that guy?"
Max shook his head. "No. All I know is that he hacked into the zoo's security doors and released all the animals."
Hearing that, Peter pulled the needle from his arm, grabbed his mask, and ran out.
Aunt May yelled, "Peter, you're not recovered yet! Don't run!"
She broke into tears, and Max comforted her. "It's okay. He'll be fine."
Peter reached the hospital entrance, but as soon as he opened the door, he found a crowd of reporters outside.
Just then, Micol Jay walked over and asked, "Peter, are you feeling better?"
Peter hugged her and tried to shoot a web—but nothing came out.
He stared at his wrist in confusion.
Seeing the streets packed with reporters, Peter picked Micol up and jumped high over their heads.
He hopped across rooftops and returned home.
Peter told Micol, "My powers are gone."
Micol joyfully said, "That means you can be a normal person again, right?"
Peter still hadn't processed it.
Micol continued, "Don't think too much. From now on you can live normally. No more risking your life. That means Aunt May and I won't have to worry anymore."
Peter hugged her tightly. They stared at each other for a moment, then kissed.
Just then, the door opened—Aunt May walked in.
She started to say something but froze. "Oh—sorry, I shouldn't have seen this."
She turned to leave, but Peter rushed forward and hugged her. "Aunt May, I won't take those dangerous missions anymore. I'll stay with you. I won't make you worry again."
Aunt May smiled. "Good… good."
Max added, "I've already told the medical staff to keep his identity secret."
Peter looked at him and said, "Thanks, brother."
Over the next few days, they lived peaceful and happy lives.
A month later
They graduated, and everyone started job hunting. Max worked at his father's company. Micol got a job at a café.
Peter had just finished an interview and was heading home.
Suddenly, he saw two robbers snatching an old lady's bag.
Peter wanted to help, but then remembered—he was no longer Spider-Man.
So he chose to ignore it.
Back home, he saw the headline: "Where Has Spider-Man Gone?"
He tried shooting a web again—still nothing. Then, an idea struck him. He rushed upstairs.
He opened his toolbox and tinkered for half a day.
Finally, he closed the metal lid and strapped a homemade web shooter onto his arm.
He aimed at the door and fired.
A strand of web shot out successfully.
Peter whispered excitedly, "I did it… Spider-Man is back!"
Meanwhile, an old lady was watering flowers in her garden when a bear suddenly jumped in. She screamed in terror.
Someone shot a web and stuck the bear to the wall.
She turned around—Spider-Man.
"Oh! Spider-Man!" she exclaimed.
As Spider-Man swung away, a slip of paper fell onto the ground.
The old lady picked it up—it was Spider-Man's autograph.
She fainted from excitement.
Meanwhile, Peter swung through the sky shouting, "I'm back!"
Cut to Aunt May reading the news. She asked Peter, "Didn't you say you wouldn't be Spider-Man anymore? What is this?"
Peter answered, "Aunt May, this home can't live without me… and this city can't live without Spider-Man."
Aunt May said, "But—"
Just as she was about to continue, Peter snapped, "Aunt May, I'm grown up. I can make my own decisions. I don't need you to choose for me!"
Aunt May cried, "I don't want you to leave me like Uncle Ben did…"
Hearing that, Peter calmed down, hugged her tightly, and said, "I'll be fine. Don't worry. I won't abandon you."
They hugged tightly.
