Chapter 4 - Navigating school life (4)

Ming Hua had been relentlessly asking me about Navigating School Life ever since I returned from the hospital.

In today's world of 2036, traditional online virtual games have evolved with technological advancements. They can now immerse a player's consciousness into the game world, providing a truly realistic experience and allowing free interaction with elements within that space. Consequently, they are immensely popular among the public.

Navigating School Life is a campus-themed virtual game that hasn't been officially released yet. The game's designer is an alumnus of Beichuan Middle School, and the game's scenery is modeled after Beichuan's campus. Therefore, the school collaborated with Tianya Company, the developer of Navigating School Life, to specially add this new event to this year's Inter-Class Championship.

The Inter-Class Championship is an annual competition held at Beichuan Middle School. The ranking of each class is determined by their scores in various contests covering academics, sports, talents, and more. Its aim is to foster a healthy competitive atmosphere among students from different classes, promoting unity, motivation, and a spirit of striving for excellence.

Navigating School Life was conducted as a team battle on April 1st. Each fifth-year class sent three students to participate, and our class sent Lai Xin Hui, Chow Zi Qian, and Ong Wei Jun. Although Ong Wei Jun didn't enter the game due to feeling unwell, our class still managed to win second place.

All of this sounds fairly straightforward, but Ming Hua insists that I actually entered Navigating School Life on April 1st and helped Xin Hui and Zi Qian complete the mission and clear the game. He's adamant that I tell him what happened inside the game.

While it's true I have localized amnesia, according to my mom, on April 1st, I fell down the stairs accidentally while participating in the Computer Science Club activity at school and was subsequently sent to the hospital for treatment. While recuperating in the hospital, I didn't even have the smart glasses needed to access the game, so how could I possibly have entered Navigating School Life? But no matter how much I explain, Ming Hua just won't believe me and stubbornly insists that I'm simply suffering from memory loss.
