Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"What is it?" Lorraine asked in a snappy tone.

"Are you here to mock me or my Goddess?" Lorraine said to Princess Marina who was hiding behind a door frame.

"I might have gone too far." Marina said peaking at her from her hiding place.

"You think?" Lorraine said with a snort.

"That's why I brought you a present." Marina said and Lorraine froze.

Turning to look at her suspiciously, Lorraine asked "What present?"

Proud that she had gotten Lorraine's attention, Marina said "Come with me and I will show it to you."

Looking at her with a blank look, Lorraine said "I take it back. I don't want the gift."

"But why?" Marina said in a whining tone before coughing abruptly.

"I promise not to trap you this time." Marina said in her usual tone.

"This time?" Lorraine asked and Marina rolled her eyes.

"You know what I mean." Marina said before matching towards Lorraine, grabbing her head and taking her to her where she kept her present.

Taking her to her thinkering room in the fourth floor, Marina presented Lorraine with a mini version of her bestia form.

Taking her present from Marina, Lorraine examined the purple bestia with the cosmic eyes. Smiling to herself Lorraine turned it to the side and the purple bestia began walking on her hand.

Screaming, Lorraine threw the purple bestia away but Marina quickly caught it.

"What did it do to you?" Princess Marina said as she made kissy noises at the purple bestia.

"Why can that thing move?" Lorraine asked as she watched the purple bestia tilt his head.

"It's part of my powers." Princess Marina said with a chuckle.

"Those blessed by the blessing of fire can animate anything they create." Princess Marina said and Lorraine crept closer to stare at the little bestia in her hands.

"Sorcery." Lorraine said and Princess Marina laughed before taking away the animation.

"It won't move this time." Marina said and Lorraine took it suspiciously.

After turning it every which way, Lorraine, satisfied that the little bestia wouldn't move looked at the little bestia fondly.

"So?" Princess Marina asked with a smile.

"Have you accepted my apology?" asked Princess Marina.

Crossing her arms and facing away from Princess Marina, Lorraine said "Only if you apologize for speaking bad of the Goddess."

"That's not possible." Princess Marina said with a smile.

"Her being wonderful to you doesn't automatically mean that she is not a bad person." Princess Marina said calmly.

Growling in frustration, Lorraine said "Fine! We can agree to disagree. I can't wait to see your face when you realise that you're wrong."

"For now-" Lorraine said sticking out her hand.

"I am Lorraine Quint." Lorraine said and Marina took her hand.

"And I am Marina Chase."

The next morning, Estile smiled in joy as the two girls made quiet chatter. As Estile brushed the Princess's hair, a thought came to mind.

"Your coming of age ball is in a few weeks time." Estile said to Princess Marina.

"How prepared are you for it?" Estile asked and Princess Marina sighed.

"I have to memorise dozen of family trees and I have been taught etiquette from scratch." Princess Marina said and Estile laughed.

"The etiquette classes are just to refresh your memory." Estile said with a chuckle.

"You have never been before a big crowd before." Estile said as she braided parts of Marina hair.

"Yes I have." Marina thought with a scoff.

"And except the people of Alvonia were created from holy beings, they will be no different from the numerous people I have met in Valaria." Marina grumbled with a scoff.

"The coming of age ball has been held twice but I still get so excited!" Estile said in glee.

"Nobility from all over Alvonia will be invited." Estile said, giggling like a high school girl but when Princess Marina didn't so much as crack a sliver of a smile, Estile coughed before changing the topic.

"And you will get to see your sisters too!" Estile exclaimed in excitement.

"The King and Queen must be so thrilled to have the three of you under the same roof." Estile said and Marina smiled politely.
