Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Don't Disturb Me!

Although the words sounded simple, they touched Carabella's heart. It was the first time she'd heard someone willing to make her something she liked to stop crying. However, on the other hand, Carabella also felt that the words sounded insincere. Jefferson's true personality, which had always been so arrogant toward her, couldn't suddenly show empathy for her. Moreover, Jefferson had always bullied her since childhood and never felt compassion for her.

Carabella continued to act clueless, refusing to think that Jefferson's words were a sign of affection. She kept her head down as she continued to devour the delicious spaghetti.

"Thank you for making this delicious spaghetti for me. I really appreciate your kindness, Jefferson."

Jefferson lifted the corner of his lips as he stared at those red lips covered in bolognese sauce. His tongue longed to taste them, but he didn't want to act foolishly too quickly. His right hand took the initiative to get a tissue for Carabella.

"Clean those lips of yours. Don't let me bully you again because you're always messy and careless."

Carabella had already suspected this arrogant man wouldn't change his attitude in just a few days. She immediately grabbed a tissue and wiped her reddened lips, looking away. She hoped no more sarcastic remarks would come from the annoying man's lips.

"After this, I want to rest. I don't want to talk to you," Carabella said coldly.

"Even though I just welcomed you here, you are in such a hurry to avoid me."

"It's not written in the contract that I have to talk to you all the time, especially at night."

"But, the contract says that you have to obey my wishes." Jefferson casually showed a mischievous smile, making Carabella unable to control her increasingly boiling blood pressure.

A heavy sigh escaped her lips. She ate the spaghetti so quickly that he coughed. Jefferson spontaneously got her a glass of water.

Carabella didn't want to say another word. She drank the glass of water until it was empty, then continued to finish the spaghetti with only a little left.

A few minutes passed, and Carabella finally finished the delicious spaghetti with Jefferson. She immediately got up from her chair and wiped her dirty lips.

"I'm done eating now. I want to rest in my room. Don't disturb me!"

Jefferson, meanwhile, smiled sarcastically, folding his arms. "Who told you to rush to bed now? I told you earlier, I wanted to talk to you for a bit."

"But-"

"Do you want to bear the consequences for breaching the contract?"

Carabella was forced to comply with Jefferson's stubborn wishes. She followed him into the living room and sat down next to him on the sofa. She didn't dare raise her head, feeling it was inappropriate for a housekeeper to sit next to her employer.

"I have to go back to work tomorrow."

"I know," Carabella replied flatly, she actually doesn't like small talk.

"I want you to stay here all day. Don't let anyone know you're staying here."

Carabella lowered her head even further, trembling as she gripped the dress she was wearing. Imagining herself locked up all day in this mansion was like being held captive. If she had known this would happen, she wouldn't have accepted the offer. She deeply regretted accepting it, and now she couldn't escape. Moreover, Jefferson was a perfectionist in everyone's eyes, so she had to be perfect to avoid embarrassing him.

"Don't worry, I won't be stupid like that."

"I actually-"

"I know you want to maintain your reputation as a perfect CEO. Don't worry, I won't ruin the reputation you've built over the years. Especially since I have to hide from your fiancé so your relationship doesn't fall apart due to misunderstandings."

"She-"

"Did you call me just to talk about this?" For a moment, her gaze fell on the clock on the wall, which read ten o'clock at night. "I really want to rest now. If you want to talk to me, we can continue tomorrow."

Carabella hurriedly got up from the sofa and walked into the guest room. She closed the door tightly and immediately lay down on the very wide and soft bed. She had long wanted to enjoy heaven on earth like this. Since childhood, she had only been able to sleep in a small and dusty room, making it difficult for her to sleep every night. Honestly, only Jefferson could grant her wish in an instant, but she knew he did it only out of pity and contempt for her.

Half an hour had passed, because her body was already very comfortable lying on this bed, for the first time she immediately fell asleep. Does this mean that she will immediately have a sweet dream? Of course not, her body was full of cold sweat and kept tossing and turning as if someone was chasing her until she continued to delirious and scream.

Carabella is currently stranded in a nightmare world. She confronts her cruel father, then tortures her severely with raffia rope until her entire body is bruised. Her cruel father continues to haunt her even though they are no longer related since she was sold to Alexander. She can't escape this nightmare and wants someone to help her save her.

Meanwhile, in the real world, Jefferson immediately entered the guest room upon hearing a startling scream. He sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the beautiful woman, who looked terrified, trapped in a nightmare. Of course, watching her so terrified she was crying and screaming shattered his heart. He slowly pressed his lips to hers, his lips lingering for a few seconds.

In an instant, Carabella stopped crying and screaming. Jefferson was shocked, not expecting the kiss to actually calm her and free her from her nightmare. A mischievous smile spread across his handsome face, his right hand gently caressing her soft forehead.

"From now on, I'll protect you, Ella. I don't want you trapped in that nightmare again. I don't like seeing you cry over anything else."
