He walked out of a jet wearing a hoodie, finishing his drink, checking the time on his phone. Walking down the stairs, the turbines still just switching off. A pilot exited the plane in sort of a panic.
''Uhh, sir sorry to disturb you, but we have to park the aircraft first,'' he said with a worried look on his face. The boy turned around and gave a sort of weak smile— the type you give just to be polite.
''It's alright, I'm in a hurry, just turn off the engines and park later. Also, I said don't call me sir," he replied.
''Of course Mr. Toriyama thank you again,'' he bowed.
The boy simply waved with a smile.
''Please, that was my dad's name. Take care of the family, and expect me to call you again if I need anything, of course you will be paid handsomely,'' the boy grinned.
The pilot continued bowing profusely.
''Yes, yes thank you again do take care, enjoy Japan I'm very sure you will like it here, nothing like going back to your roots,'' he said waving him off.
''Yeah nothing like it''. The boy said in a sarcastic tone, he waved one last time before walking off. Breathing in the air of a place familiar but so strange to him. The pilot entered the plane and sat down.
''Long flight huh?'' the captain of the aircraft said as he started to park the jet.
''Longer flight back''. The pilot replied, his arm resting on the side of his seat.
''That boy, you owe him a favor or something cause this flight was quite on short notice, it seemed like he was trying to enter the country unnoticed, not to mention dodging immigration and the lack of paperwork, hope he's not a criminal." the captain smiled half serious but halfway joking as well.
''No nothing like that, yes in a way I do owe him, I owe him my life and that of my family. Of course there's something off about him but it does come with the territory doesn't it? This much responsibility at that age isn't normal, but I'm sure he has his reasons," the pilot replied while finishing his post flight checks.
''Great, just asking long way home hope you're ready?'' the captain chuckled.
"Ahh, lets get it over with already,'' he smiled back.
Meanwhile on the ground the boy continued walking, only one suitcase in hand and a backpack, he looked up. Suddenly an apparition appears behind him.
''Lost in nostalgia already?'' it said teasingly.
The boy smiled and sighed.
"Guess so, We made it Tick," the boy with blue hair said.
''Seems we have young master Togata,'' the ghost responded.
*Narration*
''Wait, wait, wait, young master Togata don't you think the readers will be a bit lost?''.
''Hmm, Good point Tick lets go back to the beginning shall we? It all started when I was 5''.
*Flashback*
A 5 year old Togata wakes up, he rubs his eyes. A woman's voice calls from outside.
''Togataa! wake up we have to leave in 2 hours''.
The noises of moving objects and zips, unzipping fill the house. Just then a man entered the room.
''Ahhh Dad, 5 more minutes I'm tired',' Togata said.
His dad lifts him from the bed and takes him to the bathroom to brush his teeth.
''C'mon, what happened to the, ''I'm to young to go to bed early before a big trip dad! I'm not in kindergarten anymore!'' Togata? huh'' His dad said giving him his tooth brush.
"He dwied last night from exhaustion". Togata replies with a mouth full of toothpaste which he spits out. "Can't I just sleep on the plane ride there?!''.
His dad picks him up in one big swoop and carries him to the living room where his mom is still packing. ''No way, this is a big deal Togata I need your usual excited self''. He places Togata on the chair and Togata still tired just sulks there.
''No can do, I'm out of energy''. His mom gives him a look. ''Togata this is very important to your dad, we got to go on this trip because he did really good at work, the least you can do is get hyped up like you were yesterday''.
His dad thinks for a second. ''I have an idea''. His dad gets a cup of coffee and dunks some liquid chocolate in it. Togata's mom immediately resists. ''Tom! you are not giving my baby coffee he's to young!''. Tom gives her a shy smile. ''Oh don't be a downer, he's gonna get hooked on it later in life anyway, better he starts now.'' Togata throws himself off the chair.
''This is the first and last time I'm giving you coffee before you reach Highschool or college, just this once ok''. Tom says handing him the cup.
''With this cup I will make thee proud faaather!''. Togata says overly excitedly. Tom just rolls his eyes ''Yeah, yeah don't be so dramatic, just drink it and go pack your toys''. With one sip Togata is basically bouncing off the walls with energy. His mom sighs ''This is going to be a long trip, you're putting him to bed tonight Tom''. Tom scoffs. ''Do you believe you married and idiot, I'm offended! Don't worry the itinerary I have planned will tucker him out so much you'll be asking him to wake up tomorrow''. Tom replies proudly. ''Hmmhm''. She replies with a roll of her eyes.
Togata enters the room almost immediately. ''Done! lets go, lets go, lets go, lets go''. His mom sighs again. ''I love the energy Togata come on Toriyama family vacation Yeahhh!!!". ''Yeah!!''. Togata shouts in agreement!'' His mom smiles. ''Yeahh!!!''.
The family heads to the airport and Togata is still jumping around. ''Toriyama family?''. A man in a suit holding a card with their name on it beckons them over. ''Yeahhaaaa!! Toriyama family vacation!''. The whole family says in unision. The man just laughs as he leads them straight to the runway.
