Togata's body finished inhaling the ghost's essence as everything goes quiet. He inhales as his hair turns a dark blue then,.... exhales and everything unfreezes. The rain starts to fall again, and Togata opens his eyes but their different, his pupils are missing and a monocle appears on his eye.
Togata looks around and checks his reflection in a puddle of water nearby. ''Hahaha''. His voice comes out, but it's deeper almost overlapped. It's obvious this isn't Togata anymore.
''It worked''. The ghost says excitedly. It starts to levitate. ''This boy's body is something else, he's such a snug fit, I might just get used to him. The ghost drops and decides to walk away. But suddenly he freezes, he can't take another step. ''What is this''. It says fighting against the invisible force preventing him from moving forward.
''No,.... you can't go, we had a deal''. Echoes Togata's voice from inside his body. ''Uhggg dammit,.... I see, now I've decided to keep the body, our deal remains incomplete''. The ghost says in frustration.
''Turn around and do your part''. Togata repeats inside his body. ''You damn pest, I should have chosen different parameters for this deal, I meant to send you to the afterlife with your parents''. The ghost says reluctantly turning around and heading back to Togata's parents bodies.
The ghost touches them and their bodies start to regenerate somehow, flesh recreating, wounds healing, they almost look like nothing happened. Togata's hair starts to turn white. ''That's all I can do boy''. The ghost says trying to leave.
''What do you mean that's all you can do!''. Togata shouts in frustration. ''Bring them back now!''. Togata continues. ''Ahh stop shouting and listen! I've restored their bodies,... but they died hours ago, their spirits have left their bodies already, there's nothing I can do about that.... soo, can I??''.
Togata remains quiet stunned he seems to be in some sort of dark room, he falls to the ground speechless. ''I'm just gonna...''. The ghost says walking away.
''No''. Togata says. ''Whaa?''. The ghost replies as it stops moving suddenly. ''Get out of my body you damn cheat''. Togata says in frustration. ''No way this is mine!''. The ghost replies. ''Get out!!''. Togata thrusts from inside as his body drops to the ground and the monocle disappears. The ghost is thrust out of his body, floating in front of him. Togata's eyes return back to normal he seems to be back in control.
''How the hell did you manage that boy''. The ghost says in utter disbelief. ''I hate you leave''. Togata says just lying on the ground. ''Fine I got all the energy I need from you anyway kid''. The ghost teleports away. Suddenly he's back. ''What?.. No''. The ghost says trying to teleport again, but suddenly he's back. ''I said leave''. Togata says.
''Don't you think I'm trying! There's no way I've done this to myself''. The ghost says dropping to the ground in embarrassment.
''It seems I'm stuck to you boy. We're gonna have to stay together until I can fulfill my part of the agreement, or you release me willingly''. The ghost says. ''No way, not until you bring my parents back''. Togata replies. ''I told you I am not able to boy''. The ghost says sighing. ''Since I was able to change the parameters of our agreement I'm sure you can too, If there's anything I can do for you so you can release me say it, so I may be on my way''. The ghost continues.
''I don't want anything from you, I just want to die''. Togata says going to lie down with his parents. ''No! Don't say that! I'm not going to be stuck with you until you die!''. The ghost says in frustration. ''You're a ghost, I'm sure you can wait a bit longer''. Togata replies silently.
''Do you not understand anything child! If you die I'm sure I die with you! And I'm sure you wouldn't want me joining the family reunion in the after life, or would you now?''. The ghost asks condescendingly.
Togata realizes it's right. ''I guess so........., well I don't know what I want right now''. Togata says. The ghost thinks to itself ''Hmm.., Your father said something about you enjoying your life, don't you want to become someone they can be proud of?''. The ghost asks.
''How do you know they said that!''. Togata asks in frustration. ''Now that we share a body I feel everything you feel, share your memories and I can hear your thoughts so don't even think of double crossing me''. The ghost replies. ''Now answer my question do you now want your parents to be proud of you?''. The ghost asks. ''Yeah''. Togata replies.
''Good now think hard what do you want?''. The ghost asks again.
''I want to find out who did this''. Togata replies. The ghost sighs and then paces around floating in the air. ''Hmm I guess we can do that''. The ghost replies. ''Although you're not going to get anything done sitting here. It's almost morning we need to leave or else you'll lose all hope of reaching your goal, and me being released from you''. The ghost says adjusting it's Top hat.
''What do I do?''. Togata replies. ''You're hungry, but you probably can't feel it because of your grief, we need to eat or we're both going to die''. The ghost says. ''I don't remember how to get to our hotel''. Togata says. ''Yes you do, you just cannot recall it''. The ghost says as it flies into his body''.
''Hey what are you doing!''. Togata asks. ''Retracing your path in your memories''. The ghost replies from inside Togata's body. Then it hops out. ''Well shall we?''. The ghost asks. Togata looks at his parents hesitating. ''I can't leave them''. Togata says. ''Sorry to say boy but their gone, it's time to move on and get on with your life''. The ghost replies.
''It's not that easy! What do you know about family!?''. Togata asks. ''More than you think boy, I feel your pain but that's life now get used to it! By the way, it's what they would want you to do''. The ghost says.
''Fine''. Togata replies blandly. ''Good now let's get going''. The ghost says as it starts to float away. Togata tries to take a step then he falls. ''I can't walk''. Togata says. The ghost turns around to see togata on the floor. ''Ahh children are so troublesome! Hold my hand boy''. The ghost says stretching out it's hand.
Togata reaches out and holds it, the ghost helps him stand. ''Don't think I'm going to carry you, I am not your governess''. The ghost says holding Togata's hand as they walk down the street, forging their path.
