Just as Mizuta Mu was about to be overwhelmed, Kakashi and his team finally arrived. Kakashi immediately launched a Chidori at one of the enemies, blasting upward with explosive force!
Dog and Dragon each charged toward another Sand Ninja, engaging them in fierce combat.
"Ignore the reinforcements! Kill him!"
Seeing the newcomers, the three Sand Ninja immediately recognized them as the true Konoha Anbu. The Lightning Release user glared fiercely and barked the order.
If they could kill the Iwa Ninja they had surrounded, even if it cost them their lives, it would be worth it!
Besides, reinforcements were already on their way. To sabotage the peace talks between Iwa and Konoha, the Sand Village had deployed nearly all of its remaining elite forces.
"Hmph! You think killing me will be that easy?"
Mizuta Mu's eyes flashed with relief at the sight of the Konoha Anbu. Hearing the enemy's words, he sneered and swiftly began weaving hand seals while the three Sand Ninja were still distracted by Kakashi's sudden arrival.
"Earth Release: Earth Falling Lid!"
The moment Mizuta Mu finished speaking, a massive slab of rock materialized above them, shaped like a giant lid. It crashed down with devastating force!
This ninjutsu was originally designed for long-range attacks, but Mizuta Mu was now using it to crush both his enemies and himself!
"What...?"
"No good...!"
"Get out of the way...!"
The three Sand Ninja who had been about to attack Mizuta Mu looked up at the sudden darkness overhead and cried out in alarm, instantly scattering in different directions!
If Mizuta Mu wanted to commit suicide, they had no intention of joining him!
*Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!*
The three Sand Ninja retreated rapidly as the massive rock lid crashed down from the sky. Kakashi and his team also halted their advance, not daring to approach.
"Earth Release: Lightweight Rock Technique!"
Seeing his three attackers successfully evade the attack, Mizuta Mu's lips curled into a contemptuous smirk. He immediately activated another Earth Release technique, catching the falling Earth Falling Lid with both hands. Through his ninjutsu, he instantly reduced the lid's weight!
*Whoosh!*
With the lid's weight altered, Mizuta Mu pushed it upward a few centimeters with a powerful thrust, then calmly slipped out from beneath it.
*Boom!*
Only after Mizuta Mu had escaped did the Earth Falling Lid crash to the ground, kicking up a cloud of sand and dust. The impact was surprisingly muted, however, due to the altered weight!
"Damn it..."
"We fell for it..."
The three Sand Ninja, who had retreated hastily, cursed inwardly at the sight.
They could only watch helplessly as Mizuta Mu evaded the attack and was immediately protected by the real Konoha Anbu.
"Iwa Ninja! Are you alright? We're the Konoha Anbu. The Hokage was concerned about your safety en route and sent us to escort you!" Dragon said concisely and quickly, positioning himself between Mizuta Mu and the attackers.
"I'm fine. It's good Konoha sent reinforcements," Mizuta Mu replied coolly. He harbored no goodwill toward Konoha and knew their escort was solely for the sake of peace talks, so he offered no apologies.
As for doubting Kakashi and his team's identities, Mizuta Mu briefly considered it before dismissing his suspicions. If they were allied with his attackers, they wouldn't have bothered with this charade; they could have simply overwhelmed him with their numbers.
"Damn Konoha Anbu!"
"Kill them! Slaughter the Konoha Anbu and the Iwa Ninja together!"
Seeing Kakashi and his team guarding Mizuta Mu, the Lightning Release Sand Ninja roared again, addressing his two comrades:
"Lightning Release: Lightning Pillar!"
The Sand Ninja formed hand seals, unleashing a Lightning Release technique. Pillars of lightning materialized above Kakashi and his team, crashing down upon them.
This Lightning Pillar technique was clearly an advanced form of the earlier Lightning Flash.
"Kill them all!"
Faced with the Sand Ninja's assault, Dragon responded with equal ferocity. He barked at Kakashi's team, dodged the lightning strikes, and charged toward one of the Sand Ninja, taking him on alone.
Viper and Dog, meanwhile, simultaneously attacked another Sand Ninja, leaving the Lightning Release specialist to Kakashi.
Since none of them possessed Wind Release to counter Lightning Release, Kakashi's lightning-based techniques were the most suitable countermeasure.
As for Mizuta Mu, seeing Kakashi's team divide the enemies, he happily settled back to watch the spectacle. He could always step in to assist if anyone faltered.
"Your opponent is me!"
*Chidori crackling!*
After concentrating the Chidori in his right hand, Kakashi stepped in front of the Lightning Release Sand Ninja, sneering contemptuously.
"Hmph!"
The Sand Ninja's eyes narrowed slightly at the sight of the Chidori in Kakashi's hand. As a Lightning Release specialist himself, he immediately recognized the Chidori's destructive power.
*Taking a hit from that would be disastrous!*
Still, he scoffed coldly. While the Chidori's power surprised him, he also realized it was only effective in close combat. *As long as I keep him at a distance, his attack is useless!*
The Sand Ninja smirked inwardly as Kakashi charged forward. He swiftly retreated, weaving hand seals to unleash a Lightning Release technique.
"Lightning Release: Lightning Flash!"
"Lightning Release: Lightning Flash!"
*Boom! Boom!*
Two consecutive lightning strikes slammed down on Kakashi, who narrowly dodged them. However, the force of the attacks disrupted his momentum.
"Damn it!"
Faced with this setback, Kakashi cursed under his breath and dispelled the Chidori in his hand.
Kakashi could move even faster, but without revealing his Sharingan, his vision was limited to his right eye, making it impossible to fully grasp the situation. To defeat his opponent, he needed to reveal his Sharingan!
Alternatively, he could unleash the true Hatake Three-Blade Technique, but even a single strike would completely drain his Chakra!
"Hmph! Giving up already? Then die!"
Seeing Kakashi halt and dispel his Chidori, the Lightning Release Sand Ninja sneered contemptuously.
"Lightning Release: Thunderclap Flash!"
*Boom!* The ninja unleashed an even more powerful Lightning Release technique, striking Kakashi directly.
*Bang!*
The figure struck by the lightning dissolved into smoke and vanished.
"A Shadow Clone..."
"He's behind you!"
The Sand Ninja muttered, turning to easily spot Kakashi ten meters behind him.
But then, the ninja's pupils narrowed slightly.
"That's..."
"The Sharingan...?"
