Once outside the pack hotel, I wrapped my arm around my body to steady my racing heart as I waited for a ride.
If I hadn't been cautious on my way to the Casper villa, by taking a detox pill Serena gave me beforehand, I might have actually fallen into Amelia's trap today.
I hadn't intended to go after the Casper family, but Judy's actions had crossed a line.
Anger surged through me as I thought of how humiliated I would have been if they had been successful.
Just then, a strange black car stopped in front of me and I stepped back in fear.
Suddenly, the window rolled down to reveal someone I least expected.
"Get in."
Under the dim light of the streetlights, his eyes glowed in silver, boring holes into my face.
