After parting ways with the others, i came back home with the takeout food and the 4 gold coins that were remaining.
"Mom, I bought food!"
"Aah son, what took you so long! I was so worried!"
She stated as she warmly hugged me.
"Here, i got extra money today so i ordered takeout."
I purposefully did not eat alot as i wanted to have a good meal with my mother in this house 1 last time, for the next 2-3 months.
I set the food on the table as i went to the bathroom to freshen up.
after taking a bath, i went into the dining hall where mother was sitting eagerly awaiting my arrival with a smile on her face.
"Come on let's eat!"
I stated as i anticipatedly dragged the chair, sitting down and put some food on my plate.
I served my mother some aswell since i didn't want her to move alot because she was still recovering from the sergery.
so i basically take care of everything inside the house along with earning aswell.
It is exhausting but that helped mother recover so well in just 2 months and she's no longer in threat of life.
No matter how many times i get on my knees and beg my loyalty and give my life to milia a 100 times still wouldn't be enough to show her just how grateful i am to her.
She saved 2 lives by giving those 15 coins... she especially saved my mother and for that i'll forever be grateful to her.
"How does it taste mom?"
I asked as i chowed down the delicious meal like a glutton."
"It's absolutely delicious... i have never had something that tastes so good."
I Felt genuinely happy that she said that but was also a little angry that she said this food is better than what i make.
"I'm glad you like it!"
"But ofcourse, it's nothing compared to what my son makes!"
She stated puffing her chest.
"Hehe!!"
Now that mother was completely normal and her vitals were healthy with no signs of the disease, i felt like i could happily go there and make some money.
I'll obviously come back once a month since it barely costs 2 silver per travel.
Now that i can afford it.
"There's something important i gadda tell you mom!!"
Just as things were calming down and i was washing the dishes.
I started talking to my mother who was watching the tv.
"Hmm! What is it son?"
"I... am going on a trip, it's related to my work... It's a long trip and i'll earn alot aswell but... I don't think i'll be back until the end of winter."
'What? Winter ends 3 months from now... are you sure you'll be fine?"
"Yes... my party members will be there, Kt's my last mission as an adventurer... after that... I'll probably retire mom... and find a job here, but for that i need a lot of money and that's why..."
"You don't have to explain it to me son! I understand your circumstances, I don't mind you leaving. I will be completely fine!"
My mother stated with a warm smile to rid me of my worries.
"I'll send money every month so be sure to spend well alright?"
"Ofcourse! You aswell... make sure you make things right with your party members."
The moment she said that, i felt my heart sink.
Mom... it's not a relationship that can be mended.
It was broken a long time go, I'm only going there to make money.
I've atleast realised in this past 2 months what my self worth is and that i cannot trust anyone blindly.
If someone wants me in their life than there must always be a reason why they do because... in the end i have absolutely nothing to offer.
And the moment they realise that they'll discard me like i'm their tail and they a lizard!
I'm no longer interested in making bonds mch less a harem.
I've matured past that stage or rather i've realised that i can't be deluding myself into believing that my existence is worth something when all i am meant for is expectations and those expectations when they fall on me will always fall down beow their expected results and they will always lead to disappointment and dissatisfaction, ultimately leading to me getting discarded.

i stated as i waved my hand towards my mother.
"Farewell, I'll see you soon son!! Be Safe!"

After 2 days i finally reached my destination.
after taking some turns and drifts i finally reached the mansion.

The maid Kania stated.

'Well, you are the only one who desn't find my words offensive or well so thought... I guess you hate it aswell... considering you gave me the most disgustful look i've ever seen you make."
"Well... that was inconvenient but maybe i misunderstood you... I believed you were just giving me empty flattery because you wanted to get inside my pants."
'I guess you weren't entirely wrong... i did want you to pay attention to me... I'm sorry for inconveniencing you with all the offensive remarks... For my own personal gain i ended up saying creepy things..."

I stated as i looked at her with puppy dog eyes
"You are as cunning as ever too, aren't you master... Your innocent act won't work on me! You may be sincere but those extreme acts of yours might brand you as a manipulator... Please don't make people misunderstand you more than you already are!"
"Haha... sorry about that! Still...I'm sorry."
"I accept your apology."
She stated with a smile, as she continued
"Shall we go? Everyone's waiting for you."
