Sophia and Prince Henry ran through the gardens, the Queen's words echoing in their ears. They knew they couldn't outrun the guards for much.
"We need to find a way out of here," Sophia said, her voice low and urgent.
Prince Henry nodded, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "I think I see a way," he said, pointing to a small door hidden behind a bush.
Sophia followed him, and they slipped through the door, finding themselves in a narrow alleyway. They ran down the alley, the sound of the guards' footsteps fading into the distance.
As they emerged onto the streets of the city, Sophia felt a sense of relief. They had escaped the palace, but they knew they weren't safe yet.
Suddenly, a figure stepped out of the shadows. "Your Highness," he said, bowing low.
Sophia's eyes narrowed, her hand on Prince Henry's arm. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice firm.
The man straightened, his eyes gleaming with a hint of amusement. "My name is Alexander, and I've been sent to help you, Your Highness."
Prince Henry's eyes narrowed. "Who sent you?" he asked, his voice suspicious.
Alexander smiled. "A mutual friend. Let's just say I have a vested interest in seeing the Queen brought to justice."
Sophia's eyes locked onto Alexander's. "What do you want in return?" she asked, her voice firm.
Alexander's smile grew wider. "I want to help you take down the Queen, and I think I can offer you the means to do it."
Sophia and Prince Henry exchanged a look, unsure of what to make of Alexander's words.
"What makes you think you can trust him?" Sophia asked Prince Henry, her voice barely above a whisper.
Prince Henry's eyes were fixed on Alexander's. "I don't know, but I think we don't have a choice."
Alexander's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Excellent decision, Your Highness. Now, let's get out of here before the Queen's guards catch up with us."
As they followed Alexander through the winding streets, Sophia couldn't shake the feeling that they were walking into a trap. But she also couldn't deny the sense of hope that Alexander's words had given her.
Maybe, just maybe, they could actually bring the Queen down.
Alexander led them to a small, unassuming building on the outskirts of the city. He knocked on the door, and it swung open, revealing a dimly lit room filled with people.
Sophia's eyes widened as she recognized some of the faces. There were members of the palace staff, nobles, and even a few of the city guards.
"Welcome to the resistance," Alexander said, his eyes gleaming with triumph. "We're going to bring the Queen down, and we're going to do it together."
