"No but's young lady, you're not allowed to go ghost hunting just yet." Maddie told the global hero. "It'll be good for you to lean on others at times." She said to Kim. "Go on your date, hun." Maddie told Kim.
-
"Fine." Kim said with an exasperated tone. She looked to the human Danny, who had a smile on his face. She turned to Ron and handed him her communicator. "Danny has his own communicator, if you feel over your heads, call him." She said to the group of ghosts.
-
"I'll answer, but I'm sure you all will be fine." Danny told the group of ghosts. "Phantom, why don't you try to use your town sense to open a portal near the Space Center?" Danny suggested.
-
"Good idea, Danny. Why didn't we think of that before?" Phantom asked.
-
"Because it's been less than a week since we had either power." Danny answered the half ghost clone.
-
"It's really weird when you talk to yourself when you're cloned." Johnny said to both Danny and Phantom.
-
"We know, but it feels so natural." Both Danny and Phantom said in unison.
-
"That's creepy too." Johnny said. "Just get on with the portal already." He said as he waved his hand.
-
"Okay." Phantom said as he closed his eyes and focused and opened the portal to the Space Center and the group, minus Ron, Danny, Kim and Maddie, went through it. The portal closed behind them and the four humans stood in the living room.
-
Phantom and his team hopped on the ground in front of the space center. They found the ghost knocking against the door to the center. There was a metal gate keeping him out.
-
"He must be a new ghost. They could just go through the door." Johnny said as the three ghosts turned into their more ghostly forms.
-
"Let's try talking to them first, they might have worked here when they were alive and want to go back to work." Phantom told the group as they flew to the ghost banging on the metal door. "Hey, you know you could be scaring the people in there." He told the ghost.
-
"That's kinda the point. These bastards killed me, so I'm haunting them." The ghost said.
-
"Well, this whole town is my haunt, including this Space Center. You have to deal with me first before you cause trouble." Phantom told the ghost, which now that he got confirmation that he was a ghost and not a spirit. 'I need to get out of the 'all ecto-entities being ghosts.' mindset' Phantom thought to himself.
-
"What Phantom means is that you have to go through all of us if you want to cause trouble." Sidney corrected Phantom, giving him a look.
-
"Well then, let's get started." The ghost said as he blasted Phantom, who just absorbed the blast with his hand. The ghost, seeing that blasts wouldn't work on Phantom, charged at him with a punch. Phantom sidestepped and raised a knee sharply when the ghost was over it, sending them flying up into the air.
-
Sidney followed the ghost with greater speed and surpassed him and hit him to the ground. Sidney let gravity take a hold of him and he put ectoplasm into his elbow as he slammed into the ghost. The ghost just started laughing and he charged his body with energy and released it outwards from his body. This sent Sidney flying off of the ghost and into a wall of the Space Center.
-
Johnny was revving his motorcycle and rammed into the now standing ghost. The ghost grabbed onto Johnny's bike and stopped it. The ghost picked it up off of the ground and threw it to the side. Johnny hopped off of it in air before Sidney caught it with his telekinesis, before dropping it when it was a foot off of the ground.
-
Kitty charged an extra powerful kiss, which could be noticed as there was energy circling her hand. She let it go and hit the ghost into the ground and left a crater where they were. She did this a few times, but the ghost was just laughing through the pain he should be feeling. The ghost created a spherical shield around himself and charged energy in his hands that he blasted at Kitty.
-
Phantom stepped in front of Kitty and absorbed the attack, but instead of just letting it be the attack, he held on to the energy frequency and continued to absorb the ghost's energy. This stopped the ghost's laughing, and he tried to fly away, but Sidney crashed into the ghost and sent him to the ground again. Vines sprouted from the ground and wrapped the ghost.
-
The vines came from Kitty's hair, which grew into the ground as she was kneeling on the ground with Johnny next to her. "This is new for her, so you better hurry and catch that guy." Johnny said in concern for Kitty.
-
Phantom nodded and pulled out his thermos and opened the canister, still absorbing the ghost's energy, leaving him just writhing on the ground, whimpering. Phantom pointed the canister at the ghost and Sidney and activated it. The white vacuum enveloped both ghosts but only the ghost that was attacking the Space Center was being sucked in through the vines. As the ghost left the vines and went into the thermos, the vines retreated back to Kitty's head. Phantom put the lid back on the canister and he and Sidney went to check on Kitty. "Nice work restraining the ghost. Kitty." Phantom said to the vine haired ghost girl.
-
"Thanks. I didn't even know that I could do that, it was like my core told me I was capable of it in the moment." Kitty said to the half dead ghost boy.
-
"You should try going into your mindscape and reaching into your core, that's how I found out that I had Ice and Nature cores." Phantom told Kitty. "It's also how I found out about several of my other powers that I haven't tried yet." He added.
-
"We might just try that, but we should leave now." Sidney spoke up. "I see reporters and I don't have a hero name made up yet." He told the group of ghosts.
-
"Neither do we. Let's go." Kitty said as she stood up, with Johnny's help. Shadow brought Johnny's bike to them and the ghostly couple got on it and took to the air, both Sidney and Phantom following suit behind the two bikers.
=
Phantom, Sidney, Johnny, Kitty, and Shadow were flying over the city, when Phantom's ghost sense went off and he had to dodge a blast in midair. "Do you all want to go on patrol, or do you want to relax for a bit?" Phantom asked the group of ghosts.
-
"I want to relax for a bit. The new powers took a lot out of me." Kitty told Phantom.
-
"Yeah, plus I have a shift in the morning that I want to prepare for as a human." Johnny told the half dead ghost boy clone.
-
"I want to go on patrol, but I should check in with Theryon and Katherine at my realm. They were making a mass production machine for jewelry when you came to my realm with Ron." Sidney told Phantom.
-
"Okay, do you want me to check in with you, Sid? I was the one who brought Katherine to your realm." Phantom said to his ghostly green friend.
-
"That would be great, you can see the progress they made with the production of weapons." Sidney said with a smile and a glint in his eye.
-
"Excellent, after I check the production there, I'll ask Aranea about the Realm Challenge Guardian thing he told me that he found before I went on my date." Phantom said to the group.
-
"Aranea, I feel like I heard that name before." Johnny said.
-
"Yeah, he asked us about ourselves for some database for some paranormal scientists. He is with you?" Kitty asked Phantom after explaining to Johnny.
-
"Yeah, I freed him from a prison and now he's stuck to me as his master. I was excited to learn about the Infinite Realms from him and how to fight but haven't had the time with everything going on this week." Phantom explained to the ghostly group. "I hope they didn't ask any invasive questions." He said, concerned that they were going to regret his backing.
-
"He didn't, most ghosts and spirits know what not to ask other ghosts and spirits." Kitty told Phantom, who sighed in relief. "All they asked was about our powers, if either of us had a realm or were a champion, which Johnny is, but nothing about our deaths or obsessions." She explained to the half dead ghost boy.
-
"That's good, I didn't want you to regret my backing if you knew that Aranea was with me. I asked him for a database of all the ghosts and spirits near my portal, which is currently undergoing an upgrade, and what their powers were in case I had to fight them." Phantom explained to the trio of ghosts as they flew over the city.
-
"It's fine, dude. Aranea was polite the whole time and left us alone for the most part." Johnny told Phantom.
-
"Oh, I almost forgot. I need to scan you, so my parents' inventions don't hurt you." Phantom said to the ghostly couple.
-
"Okay, get it over with, I'm tired and want a nap." Kitty said as she shuffled so she was sitting on the side of Johnny's motorcycle. Johnny followed her lead and did the same. Shadow popped up between the two of them.
-
Phantom pulled out his communicator and pressed the button that was made specifically for him to scan ghosts. 'Wade must think I'm stupid.' Phantom thought to himself. The light came to scan the three ecto-entities rather quickly and the screen showed the three different signatures were cataloged as allies. "Okay, that's it. Now we can go to Sid's realm. Do we want to go through one of Johnny's rifts, or one of my portals?" He asked the three ghosts and one spirit animal.
-
"Let's go through your portal." Johnny and Kitty said in unison.
-
"That was weird, but okay, give me a moment." Phantom said, ignoring the ghost couple's comments about how similar they were to him and his original and focused on opening a portal in front of the ghostly Fenton Works building. The portal opened and the four ghosts went through and split up from there without a goodbye.
-
"Let's go to the cave. They've remodeled some and it looks so much better. It still looks like a cave, but it's more organized." Sidney said as he and Phantom made their way to said cave.
-
"That's nice. How has Katherine been with joining in with Theryon's people?" Phantom asked his green ghost friend.
-
"She was teamed up with someone who does the intricate details on the weaponry to make the jewelry. They have been clicking so well, I think there's going to be a new couple joining you and Johnny." Sidney said with a smile.
-
"That's good. I was worried that she would complicate things and make people angry. I did pick her up as she was robbing a jewelry store." Phantom said.
-
"Well, you shouldn't be, she has been getting along with every one of Theryon's people." Sidney said. "So, when are you going to register your backing of both Johnny and Kitty?" He asked, changing the subject.
-
"I was thinking of doing it tomorrow while I'm in school. I had a clone go and do it last time, so I should be fine using a clone this time." Phantom told Sidney as they went over the edge of the realm. Phantom noticed that one of the people working went into the tunnel, probably to get Theryon.
-
"That's good. I don't remember if I needed to go with you or not." Sidney said to the half dead ghost clone boy.
-
"You didn't. I remember because I sent the clone because I wanted to oversee the contract between you and Theryon." Phantom told his green ghostly friend. Phantom and Sidney landed on the ground as Theryon came out of the tunnel.
-
"Phantom! Sidney! Nice to see you. What brings you here today?" Theryon asked as he made his way to meet the two visitors.
-
"We wanted to see the new mass production machine of jewelry you were making." Sidney said to the large dog spirit.
-
"Excellent, we just finished it, so come with me and I'll show you two the work that Catherine helped us with." Theryon said to the two ghostly visitors and walked back into the tunnel, Sidney and Phantom following close behind him.
-
It wasn't long before they made it to a cavern on the side of the tunnel. In the cavern, there was a Catherine and a dog spirit working on some detail work. The dog spirit noticed their leader walk in and stood to attention. "Greetings sir!" They said as the three ecto-entities looked into the cavern.
-
Katherine looked up from her work and stopped. "Theryon! Sidney! Phantom! Nice to see you three here. Are you here to look over the mass production machine for the jewelry?" She asked the visitors.
-
"Yeah, I was gonna make this stop before I go challenge a Guardian." Phantom said to the jewelry girl. "As well as checking in on you because you were a criminal when I brought you here and didn't want you having any trouble." He added.
-
"I'm doing fine. There were some minor scuffles with me being a former criminal, but that was quickly squashed after they saw my work." Catherine told the half dead ghost clone boy. "I have done the best work with this guy, Cyanthrope. He does the detail work for their weapons." She added, introducing the dog spirit with her.
-
"Nice to meet you, Cyanthrope." Phantom said, waving his hand. "I heard good things about you from Sidney." He said to the dog spirit.
-
"Nice to meet you as well, Phantom sir!" Cyanthrope yelled out.
-
"Do either of you want to join us at looking at the machine?" Theryon asked the two detailers.
-
"No, sir. I still have work to do on some daggers." Cyanthrope told his leader.
-
"I'm down. I just finished some detailing on some jewelry." Catherine said to the large dog spirit. "I was going to enchant them, but that can be done later." She said, catching Phantom's attention.
-
"Are you able to enchant jewelry that you personally haven't made?" Phantom asked as Catherine joined them down the tunnel.
-
"Yeah, I can't do as much as I can with jewelry I personally made, but yeah." Katherine said to Phantom. "Why? You have some jewelry you want me to enchant?" She asked.
-
"Yeah, I have a ladybug brooch and a rooster necklace that I got on my date. I wanted to give the brooch to my girlfriend." Phantom told the ghost girl. "What exactly could you do to them?" He asked Katherine.
-
"Almost anything. I could make them protection charms, or make them be able to fly, or give the wearer a new suit. It depends on the jewelry though, to determine how powerful the enchantments can be." Catherine explained to Phantom. "I could enchant them for you for free for bringing me here." She told him.
-
"I'll have to think about it. My girlfriend isn't someone who likes flashy items, I don't think." Phantom said. "But it might be something of a novelty since I got them for souvenirs." He told Katherine.
-
"That's sweet of you." Katherine cooed at Phantom before sobering up. "There's something I wanted to talk to you about. I wanted you to back me. Maybe you could even get the power to enchant the jewelry yourself." She said to get him to agree to it.
-
"I am tempted to enchant the jewelry myself, but are you sure you want to be backed by me? We haven't been in contact long, which doesn't seem to be a requirement for me, but it is something big that I don't think you can take back." Phantom told Katherine. "I already did two today, not even an hour ago." He added as they reached the machine.
-
"Just think about it please." Catherine said before Theryon spoke up.
-
"This is our new machine that can mass produce both weapons and jewelry." Theryon told the two visitors. "Right now it is working on some pieces of jewelry that Katherine made to be sold." He added.
-
"I was planning to offer custom jobs after we got off the ground with the mass production." Katherine said quickly.
-
"Yeah, I thought it would only be fair, given that she is the one to design the jewelry." Theryon said to Sidney and Phantom. "We're planning on selling them at the Bazaar. That is a place where it is a neutral zone, we're planning on going Tuesday. So, if you want to join us, you can." He told the visitors.
-
"I might just take you up on that. I would love to check out more of the Realms." Phantom told the large dog spirit.
-
"Me as well, I haven't explored much because I was tied to my haunt." Sidney said to Theryon.
-
"That's fine. We'll be pleased to have you." Theryon told the two visitors. "We're making lots of regular jewelry without the gold and silver and sell the ones with those materials at a higher price." He said and Sidney and Phantom nodded at the idea.
-
"I understand the process, humans do it all the time, but what material are you using for the regular jewelry?" Phantom asked, confused at the lack of other materials mentioned previously.
-
"There were more materials that are more commonly sold. There's too many to name though, so I'll get you a list by Tuesday." Theryon told the half dead ghost boy clone.
-
"That'll be fine." Phantom told Theryon.
-
"Thinking of getting some for your girlfriend?" Katherine asked.
-
"I was thinking that if I back you, I would like to practice enchanting." Phantom told the ghost girl.
-
"Makes sense. I'll totally teach you." Katherine told the half dead ghost boy clone.
-
"Now that you have seen the machine, are you going to leave and go on patrol?" Sidney asked Phantom as they started to walk out of the tunnel. "Or are you going to back Katherine?" He asked.
-
"I think I'll back Katherine first, since I already backed two other people today, and I could just do the registration tomorrow. I really want the power to enchant things. Sounds powerful and useful." Phantom told his green ghostly friend. "Then I'll go on patrol." He added as they reached the cavern where Katherine was working.
-
Catherine poked her head in. "Cyanthrope, I'm going to take a longer break than anticipated. I'm getting the backing of Phantom." She told her detailing partner.
-
"Very well, Katherine. I'll be here." Cyanthrope told Catherine. Catherine nodded and removed her head.
-
"Let's go to my place here and we can do the whole thing you did with Sidney, I know it was not a normal backing." Katherine said to the two ghost boys.
-
Phantom nodded at Katherine's words and started following her to where she wanted to do the backing. "There are two parts to my way of backing. The first is the regular way, and the second way involves me guiding you into the mindscape, where you solidify your core. After you do that, I solidify the bond on my end." Phantom explained to the ghost girl.
-
"Sounds fun." Catherine said as she nodded to the information.
-
"It is. There is a surprise after all of it is done." Sidney said to the ghost girl.
-
"What kind of surprise?" Katherine asked the green ghost boy.
-
"It wouldn't be a surprise if we told you." Phantom told the ghost girl as she opened a door to the topside and ran towards a hotel.
-
"My place is on the fourth floor." Katherine told the two ghost boys.
=
The three ghosts made their way to Katherine's room, which was messy. She had food cartons laid about the room and had her sheets on the floor.
-
"Sorry for the mess." Katherine said to the two boys. "I'm usually much cleaner, but I have been working so much with Theryon's people that I haven't had the time to clean." She said as she pulled out some chairs.
-
"It's fine. Ready to receive my backing?" Phantom asked the ghost girl.
-
"Totally. I, Katherine, wish to receive backing from you, Danny Phantom, if you allow it." Katherine said formally, surprising both Phantom and Sidney that she knew Phantom's full name and stretched her arm out.
-
"I, Danny Phantom, give my backing to you, Katherine, that you requested." Phantom said formally, matching Katherine's tone.
-
Katherine glowed and a line went from her to Phantom. The glow lasted a while longer than it did with the others. Phantom wondered why that was and so did Sidney, since he had seen it twice before. Katherine didn't know what was different, so she was just smiling.
-
"Now we just need to do the guided meditation part. All you really need to do is look inwards to where your power comes from." Phantom told Katherine. "As I said before, you need to solidify your core, which could be seen as merging different orbs." He told the ghost girl.
-
Phantom and Katherine closed their eyes, and Phantom went into the mindscape. Phantom found the familiar giant core and various colored orbs swirling around it. Phantom waited for a moment, and the orbs converged and made Katherine appear next to Phantom in the mindscape. She looked around in awe and stared at Phantom's core. "I need to make my own of those?" Catherine asked with wide eyes.
-
"Yes. I would recommend going with doubles first but listen to your energy on how to solidify your core. After you are done, I'll solidify the bond." Phantom told the ghost girl. Catherine nodded and started moving her arms as though she was moving things that were floating. 'Might as well check out my new powerset while I'm here.' Danny thought to himself as he reached into his own core.
Phantom looked deeply into his core and let the energy and information wash over him. He could understand how to apply bad luck to people and how intense that luck can be, which he got from Johnny. He found out all the different types of kisses in his arsenal from Kitty's bond. He even found out that he could go into any reflective surface in the city that would take him to the corresponding space in the Realms, which was from Sidney.
Phantom could feel how to use those powers, but when he looked into his personal powerset, he just got a bunch of garbled information. 'So I still have to figure out my own powers.' He thought to himself as he saw himself using his nature core to grow plants, and a wail from his face that looked to be ectoplasm based. 'I will have to try that at some point.' He thought to himself again.
-
"I think I'm done." Katherine said as a glowing light caught Phantom's attention coming from Katherine's person.
-
Phantom retreated his mind and arm from his core. "Okay, give me a moment to solidify the bond and we'll be done." Phantom told the ghost girl. Katherine nodded and watched as Phantom examined all the colored orbs. There were red, blue, green, and purple.
Phantom started with the purple orbs and combined them all, 2 by 2, and moved on to the red orbs, doing the same thing. He repeated the process with the blue and then green orbs. Phantom could feel energy and information from each of the orbs getting stronger and clearer as the orbs got bigger and bigger.
Now with four medium sized orbs, Phantom decided to combine the purple and green first, he felt little resistance from this combination and they easily combined. Phantom then moved onto the red and blue orbs, which had some resistance at this combination, but it wasn't hard to combine the two orbs. Phantom combined the last two orbs with even more resistance, but it was manageable.
Phantom started to push the now large, multicolored, orb towards his own core. When they made contact, it felt like it was touching a brick wall. Phantom kept pushing, putting all his strength, mostly mental given the mindscape, into combining the orbs.
Finally, the orbs started to merge, but Danny was starting to feel exhausted. He kept forcing the orbs to combine and the further the multicolored orbs got into Phantom's core, the easier it was to push it inside. But Phantom couldn't let up on the force he was using to push it in, because when he eased up on it, the orb would start to be rejected.
When the orb finally fully went into his core, he felt a rush of energy and knowledge wash over him, even greater than when he looked into his core before. Phantom got the knowledge that the enchanting power could be used for more than just jewelry. The light that came from this combination not only knocked Phantom out of the mindscape, but out of his chair.
Phantom opened his eyes to see that Katherine was a floating silhouette of blinding light and Sidney was on the floor with Phantom. Sidney was looking at Phantom with a question in his eyes, but Phantom just shrugged, not knowing that would happen, nor what was happening currently as none of the others floated when the bond was solidified.
It was a few minutes until the blinding light started to dim away and Phantom yawned in exhaustion. He shook his head to wake him up some until he could talk to Katherine about the whole thing. Katherine floated back to the floor and the light went away. She looked taller and radiated power from her stature. Her clothing still fit her as normally. 'So, Johnny and Kitty's clothing wasn't originally part of their forms.' Phantom thought to himself.
-
"That felt euphoric." Katherine said in a haze. "My mind felt so opened and I got so many ideas for pieces of jewelry and everything." She said as she went to her drawer and pulled out a notebook and started to speed draw some designs. It was a minute until she remembered that Sidney and Phantom were still there with her. "Oh, sorry. When I get inspiration, I just have to draw it down." She apologized.
-
"It's alright, now, for the surprise." Sidney said as two rings formed around his center and he showed Katherine his human form. "Everyone who underwent the bonding process with Phantom has got a human form." He said to the ghost girl.
-
"That's amazing!" Catherine said to the now human Sidney. "How do I do that?" She asked, excited at the prospect of being a human again.
-
"You need to flex your core and think of your human form. When you manage the transformation, you'll take a deep breath and feel amazing." Sidney told the newly backed ghost girl.
-
"Okay, as Sidney is here to help you, I'm gonna go." Phantom told his friends. "I suddenly feel very exhausted after bonding with three different ghosts in such a short amount of time." He told the two ghostly friends as he left the apartment and out of the hotel as a whole. Phantom used his town sense ability to look and see if anyone was at his house that shouldn't see Phantom there. There wasn't, so Phantom opened a portal to the living room and walked through it.
Phantom floated downstairs to check on his parents and Nikolai as they worked on their inventions. They were currently working on ways to grow the interior of the lab without growing the exterior. According to what Phantom overheard, they would have it done by Wednesday.
Phantom floated away back upstairs and grabbed some rocks from outside, invisibly of course, and went to his room. He wanted to practice enchanting the rocks and see how much he had control over the power. He was going to make the rocks have attributes of various magical elements, like fire, water, air, ice, and lightning
Phantom started with the air attribute and decided to make the rock levitate on its own. He meditated and pulled the rock into the mindscape with him. The enchanting was like writing things with emotional energy, so he decided to try it the way he undid the curse on Queen Dorathea's amulet, but in reverse.
Phantom pulled at his core and a thread of energy, thin as a spider's web, came out and Phantom reached out to the thread and felt the breeze in his mental hair. He pulled the thread to the rock in his hand and when the thread contacted the stone, it was like it was being sucked in, wrapping around the stone and stitching itself into the solid matter.
Phantom started to feel the rock start to buzz, and he cut off the thread before it continued to put in the stone. Phantom believed that adding more energy would make the rock blow up. Phantom opened his eyes and his hand to find the stone raised into the air and stay a solid ten inches above his hand. He moved the levitating rock to the table, and it stayed floating.
Phantom was going to start another stone when he noticed that his hand was disintegrating. 'Odd.' He thought to himself. 'Aranea? Something is happening to me, and I don't know what is happening.' Phantom asked the spider samurai through the telepathic link.
-
'What is happening to you, is it hurting you?' Aranea asked through the link.
-
'It's not hurting, but my hand is disintegrating. What could that mean? I'm the clone, if that helps with the answer.' Phantom told Aranea.
-
'It does. Have you used an exorbitant amount of power on your own?' Aranea asked his master.
-
'I did a backing. This one took a lot more force for me than the others. It left me exhausted afterwards and I decided to try a new power that I got.' Phantom told the spider samurai. 'And I just realized that I did the backing as a clone and not the original. Could that have gone bad?' He asked his mentor.
-
'I believe not. You have two cores, so I don't think you still count as an original, especially since you can turn human in both the original and the clone. You are just experiencing energy exhaustion after pushing yourself today.' Aranea told Phantom.
-
'But I absorbed a ghost's energy before doing the backing.' Phantom said through the link. 'Wouldn't that partially counter the exhaustion?' He asked the spider samurai.
-
'Was that before or after you did the backing?' Aranea asked. 'Because if it was after, it would explain why it's happening now and not during the backing' They said.
-
'I guess that explains it. Thank you.' Phantom told Aranea.
-
'You're welcome. You should disperse the clone.' And Phantom did.
