Endless Chaos – Chaos Void Plane: The Path of Story
Chapter 6 – The Roar from the Mountain
The roar echoed across the night.
Deep.
Ancient.
Powerful enough to make the ground tremble slightly beneath their feet.
The entire village fell silent.
Even the wind seemed to stop.
Lina slowly turned toward the dark outline of the mountains.
"…That wasn't normal."
Raphael rubbed the back of his neck.
"Yeah… I was hoping it was just a very angry cow."
The elder didn't smile.
His expression had become grave.
"That roar came from Blackstone Mountain."
Several villagers outside the house began whispering in fear.
"Something woke up…"
"Did you hear that?"
"Is it a mountain beast?"
Raphael looked at the elder.
"What exactly is a Story Beast?"
Garron took a slow breath before answering.
"In this plane… when stories spread long enough…"
"…sometimes the world itself begins to believe them."
Raphael frowned.
"You mean the world creates them?"
"Yes."
The elder pointed toward the mountains.
"Legends create Story Seeds."
"Belief nourishes them."
"And eventually…"
"They take form."
Lina's face turned pale.
"You mean… monsters born from stories?"
The elder nodded.
"Exactly."
Raphael leaned against the table.
"Let me guess."
"The stronger the story… the stronger the beast."
Garron looked impressed.
"You understand quickly."
Raphael sighed.
"Well that's bad."
Lina grabbed his arm.
"Why?"
Raphael slowly pointed to the glowing paper on the table.
"The story I just created…"
"…is about slaying a dragon."
Silence filled the room.
Lina's eyes widened.
"Oh no."
The elder immediately walked to the window and looked toward the mountains.
"That roar…"
"…might not be coincidence."
High above the village…
Black clouds slowly gathered around the peak of Blackstone Mountain.
Something moved within the darkness.
Massive.
Winged.
Ancient instincts stirred.
Fragments of imagination.
Pieces of belief.
Echoes of a legend that had just been told.
A shape slowly formed in the mist.
A pair of glowing eyes opened.
Back in the village, Raphael sat down again.
"So let me get this straight."
"If people believe in dragons…"
"…a dragon might actually appear?"
The elder nodded.
"Yes."
Raphael covered his face with both hands.
"…Fantastic."
Lina nervously asked.
"Are dragons common here?"
The elder shook his head.
"No."
"Real dragons are extremely rare."
"But Story Dragons…"
He looked toward the mountains again.
"…are another matter."
Raphael leaned forward.
"How strong are they?"
The elder answered honestly.
"Strong enough to destroy a small village."
Several villagers outside overheard that and gasped.
Lina grabbed Raphael's sleeve.
"You have to stop the story!"
Raphael shook his head.
"That won't work."
"Stories don't disappear once they're born."
The elder confirmed it.
"He's right."
"Once a Story Seed forms… it will grow."
Raphael looked thoughtful instead of scared.
Lina noticed immediately.
"Why do you look excited?"
Raphael slowly smiled.
"Because every story has two sides."
"What do you mean?"
Raphael picked up the glowing paper again.
"If a Dragon Story is forming…"
"…then the Dragon Slayer Story will grow too."
The elder's eyes widened slightly.
"You're thinking of strengthening the story."
Raphael nodded.
"Exactly."
Lina blinked.
"You want to fight the dragon you accidentally created?!"
Raphael shrugged.
"Well when you say it like that…"
"…it sounds irresponsible."
Raphael stood up.
"But think about it."
"If the dragon exists because of the story…"
"…then the hero of the story should exist too."
The elder slowly understood what Raphael meant.
"You intend to become the Dragon Slayer."
Raphael grinned.
"Someone has to."
Lina looked horrified.
"You learned the technique ten minutes ago!"
Raphael raised a finger.
"Correction."
"I created the technique."
"And I can improve the story."
He grabbed the brush again.
The ink glowed faintly.
His mind raced with ideas.
If belief shaped reality…
Then the details of the story mattered.
Raphael began writing again.
The Dragon Slayer trained under countless battles.
His blade could split the wind.
His courage burned brighter than dragon fire.
And when the dragon descended…
He would stand alone to face it.
The paper shone brighter than before.
A faint current of energy flowed through Raphael's body.
He suddenly felt lighter.
Stronger.
Sharper.
Lina stared at him.
"You look different…"
Raphael flexed his fingers.
"…I feel different."
The elder nodded slowly.
"The story is strengthening you."
Raphael looked toward the mountain.
Another roar echoed through the night.
This one louder.
Closer.
Raphael sighed.
"Well…"
"…looks like the dragon wants an early debut."
The elder looked worried.
"That creature might reach the village by dawn."
Lina grabbed a wooden stick nervously.
"What do we do?"
Raphael rolled his shoulders and stepped outside.
The night sky above the Chaos Void Plane stretched endlessly.
Far beyond the stars…
Deep within the infinite Chaos Void Sea…
Countless worlds drifted like sparks in the dark.
And in one small village…
A new story was beginning to awaken.
Raphael smiled.
"Simple."
"We finish the story."
He looked toward the mountain again.
"And tomorrow…"
"…we hunt a dragon."
