Sunny shook his head stubbornly
"I don't want to" a grim expression was on his face
Nephis looked at him with a pained expression. And then she spoke with a hint of sorrow
"Go.. L-" Nephis paused. Luckily Sunny couldn't hear her due to the spire destroying itself
'What happens if this actually kills him? Cassie didn't know what it does' Nephis hesitated. For the first time in her life, Changing Star hesitated
Sunny kept staring at her, a expression of longing that she couldn't describe. And she, was longing for him as well
Nephis felt happy that Sunny wanted to stay in this hell with her. But she also hated herself for being happy
"Why? You have a sister to go home to" Nephis started to tear up a little
Sunny stared at her for awhile before shaking his head
"She doesn't even know I'm her brother" Sunny had a wry smile
Debris continued to fall around them, as dust began filling Nephis lungs. But then, both of them heard a crack
They turned their heads and saw the Gateway in a network of cracks. It glowed faintly and then it extinguished
Sunny muttered a quiet curse and dashed towards Nephis. He grabbed Nephis and hoisted her over his shoulder after she let out a pained yelp
The entire Spire was collapsing under its own weight. Countless rocks and boulders were falling overhead
"Curse it!" Sunny summoned Dark Wing to dodge the falling debris
A boulder nearly hit Sunny on the head, Nephis moved by using her Aspect to propel them
"Sunny! On your left!" Nephis screamed
Sunny glided to the right to narrowly dodge a falling boulder. This went on until Sunny was almost on the ground
"Abo-!" Nephis screamed but it was too late
A rock of considerable size punted Sunny's back and he screamed, it hurt like hell but what hurt Sunny more was

'Damnation!' Sunny gritted his teeth
He moved midair to protect Nephis from the fall. When he crashed into the ground, he groaned
"We still need to move!" Sunny pulled himself up
Nephis gritted her teeth and helped Sunny move. Everything was falling on their heads, waiting to crush then under it's weight
Eventually they managed to escape the massive spire. Breathing heavily, they collapsed on each other
"Argh! Neph! It hurts!" Sunny yelled
Nephis pushed up, which made Sunny scream louder
"I'm sorry! Here, let me" Nephis placed her hands on his chest, intending to heal him
Sunny groaned and pushed Nephis hands away
"Don't torture yourself for me" Sunny smiled weakly and coughed
Nephis lingered for awhile before sighing and sitting next to Sunny
They watched the spire destroy itself, together in silence
Nephis glanced at Sunny before inhaling sharply
"What does saying your True Name do?" Sunny's eyes widen
"H-how did yo-" Nephis covered his mouth
"Save your breaths. By how do I know, Cassie told me. I won't use against you if you're worried, I promise I won't, you can kill me if I do" Nephis looked at Sunny's conditions
Sunny glared at her, if looks could kill, Nephis would be a puddle of blood
Nephis didn't pay the glare any mind and instead she looked at him worriedly... And frustration
"That brings me to my second question. Why did you stay? Why? Tell me please" Nephis frowned
Sunny glared at her for some more before sighing
"For the first question, I rather not say" Nephis nodded and Sunny rolled his eyes
"And the second question. I finally had someone to care about, and you think I would want to leave them? Haha, that would leave a very bitter taste in my mouth" Nephis ears turned red when she heard that he cared about her but she composed herself immediately after
"But most of our friends are in the waking world"
Sunny let the words hung in the air before sighing
"Because I care about you more than all of them combined" Sunny blushed a little so he turned his head to look at the light less sky
And since he done that, he couldn't see Nephis widen her eyes and blushed uncontrollably
To avoid the awkward moment, Sunny spoke
"I'm going to scout the area" Sunny sent his shadows gliding away
Nephis nodded and laid down next to Sunny she crossed her hands on her stomach before saying
"My Aspect is called Light Bringer, it's of the Divine Rank. As you know, I can have multiple Soul Cores, I am currently a Demon. I inhereted the Sun God lineage. I will tell you the more detailed explanation later" Nephis sighed and turned to look at Sunny
Sunny looked at her wide eyed and coughed
"I also have a Divine Aspect, it's called Shadow Slave. I don't want to talk about its innate ability. My Flaw is that I can't lie, and I have a Divine Memory. You may think that I have the Shadow God's lineage, but I actually have the daemon Weaver's lineage" Sunny sighed
Now it was Nephis turn to stare at him wide eyed
Sunny relished the look of absolute disbelief on her face. Sunny soon laughed out loud
"I'm sorry, you just look so cute when you're confused" Sunny had his fill of laughter. Nephis on the other hand, just blushed until she was a tomato (To-may-to, or To-ma-to?)
Sunny grinned and relaxed his shoulders
"Oh yeah, the Divine Memory is kinda useless, but it can hide you against any type of divination" Sunny just now noticed Nephis remaining blush
'Is she blushing? It's hard to tell when it's only grey and black' Sunny wondered but then pushed the thought away
They stayed silent until Sunny groaned
"Okay, there's no Nightmare Creatures nearby. We would have to find food by killing the more powerful abominations" Sunny sat up, followed by Nephis
"You have a few broken bones, it's a miracle you're not bleeding" Nephis looked at him worriedly
"It's quite hard for me to bleed, and I can handle the broken bones" Sunny groaned and struggled to stand up
Sunny did stand up but then fell down and screaming
"Okay, maybe not" Sunny grimaced
Nephis sighed and helped him up by holding his waist
Sunny blushed at the contact but didn't say anything since Nephis didn't say anything
"It might be hard to fight like this" Nephis summoned a weapon Memory, since her original weapon got damaged and it was repairing itself in her Soul Sea
Sunny raised and eyebrow and grinned
"Did you forget about something?" a myriad of sparks appeared in front of Sunny as Saint was looking around with a indifferent gaze
They made their way back to the Bright Castle. It was pretty quick for a two very battered people, but they made it work
"Set me down here" Nephis gently placed Sunny near to a wall, as he groaned in pain
Nephis sat down next to Sunny, she relaxed her shoulders and rested her head on Sunny shoulder
Sunny coughed and looked away with a blush
Nephis lingered before sighing
"You should let me heal you, it pains me more to see you suffer" Nephis frowned
Sunny glanced back before saying softly
"Just the bare minimum, it also pains me to see you suffer"
Nephis smiled and placed a hand on Sunny's hand. A soft white radiance spread to Sunny's body as he glowed with beautiful incandescent light. But as soon as it came, it left quickly
But in that small amount of time, Sunny's bones managed to connect, not fully but enough
Nephis grimaced before smiling at Sunny's condition

Sunny sighed and rested his head on Nephis head. They stayed like for awhile before deciding to hunt for food
With Sunny's shadows and Shadow Sense, he was able to find a abomination quite quickly
It was a abomination that Sunny killed out of necessity before. And with that knowledge, both of them were able to kill it quickly
They roasted the meat on a fire, its smell was wonderful since Nephis cooked it herself. Saint wasn't here because Sunny sent her on a hunting trip
Sunny and Nephis sat next to each other, Sunny was quiet while Nephis was humming a cheerful tune
Sunny glanced at her before taking a stick with roasted meat on it
"Are you humming one of Kai's songs?" Sunny took a bite out of the meat
Nephis froze mid way of grabbing her share of the food, before coughing
"Yes" Nephis ate quietly in shame
Sunny laughed before shaking his head
"You really do like him that much, why not ask him out? I doubt that anyone would deny a beauty such as you" Sunny grimaced at remembering Kai's unfairly good looks
Nephis didn't answer at all so Sunny broke the silence with a chuckle
"Really? You have insanely high standards. Meanwhile me, I don't really think anyone would like a fool like me" Sunny shrugged before continuing to eat
"I would.." Nephis whispered to herself
Luckily Sunny couldn't hear what Nephis saif
"What was that?" Sunny raised an eyebrow
Nephis looked at him before eating, smiling to herself
"Nothing" her tone was quite cheerful
"If you say so" both of them ate in silence
Soon Saint brought a massive Nightmare Creature that even terrified Sunny, while Nephis didn't show much of a reaction
After a week or two, they killed and stockpiled everything that was useful in the Castle. Sunny gotten a few useless Memories, so he fed it to Saint, Nephis gotten a Memory that was similar to Prowling Thorn, the creature that Nephis killed to get it was a spider like abomination, its strings was extremely durable and it seemed almost endless. The rest was useless so she gave it to Sunny. Sunny had to teach Nephis how to use her new Memories, and luckily she learned quickly due to Sunny's tips, still, it was quite adorable seeing Nephis groaning in frustration
Before they left however, Sunny went back to where he gotten Weaver's mask and grabbed a torch of white flames on it
Nephis looked at the torch before asking
"What's that for?" Nephis raised her eyebrow
Sunny shrugged before grinning
"Just settling a debt" Nephis nodded
Btoh of them made their way to the massive wall surrounding the Bright Castle
Sunny gazed upon the impregnable wall that separated the Castle from-now sealed-dark sea
Sunny grinned then turned to Nephis
"Shall we get climbing Princess?"
Nephis didn't respond and just nodded before summoning Arachnid Dagger-the memory that was similar to Prowling Thorn
