Chapter 2 - Earth

He shoot his eyes opened. His phone was ringing and he missed the call before he could answer. It was Susan. He was back in his bedroom and it was daytime. he saw on his phone it was 12:00 pm. He was very confused as how he returned back home and tried to remember what happened yesterday. He saw messages his wife left him; asking him where he was, and if something happened to him. It was a lot of worried and angry texts, but he didn't know how he could explain to her what happened. He called Susan back; she didn't answer. He saw her lunch break was over. He heard a scratching noise behind him, they continued as he slowly turned around. There she was. The tall woman he saw yesterday; an angel he thought he heard her say. She didn't have wings even though yesterday she did. She had long, wavy blonde hair and her skin was in a way bright as if it was shinning but not very noticible. She was sitting on the window balcony sharpening her sword with a stone. He didn't know what to do, what if she attacked him if he moved. After all, he doesnt know what her intentions are. She looked up at him, "Hello johnny" she said standing up. She had bright red eyes that looked so natural "Are you going to-" he started but was cut off by her, " I come with good intentions, Johnny. I come from a different realm" she looked out the window at the city. He stood up," Mordin", he said. She turned around nodding at him. "This is why I came to you." He turned around rubbing his face trying to understand what's happening; thinking if it's just another one of his wierd dreams. "I'm too excited about this project" he said turning back and looking down. He noticed she was holding his stone. He walked up to her to take it, but she drew her sword on him. He held his hands up, "I'm sorry, that's just something I'm collecting." "A sandstone, Jhonny?" she asked confused, she hesitantly put her sword down and handed him the sadnstone. He put his hands down retreaving it, "It is a building and paving material used from ancient times so it's in those popular ancient buildings". He put it back in it's place, "I don't know what happening, why are you here and did you say you're an angel?" He asked still processing that there's a real angel in front of him. " Yes, i'm an angel, and I came to you; why do you think that is, Jhonny?" "Uh, I'm studying you" He said making it sound more like a question. "Exactly, you know about us, And for some reason you're dedicated to it, so I found you for that exact reason Jhonny" she said "You don't have to use my name all the time you tell me something" "I knew that" she said turning around looking back at the city. "But why did you have to come here to Earth?" He said standing next to her. "I needed to hide; i'm at war and they overthrew my kingtom. I was going to be surrounded and i couldn't let myself be captured." She turned and walked around the room. "How do you know my name and about what i do?" He asked, "We are able to observe different realms, but the problem is that we can't do it mentally. We have a very powerful mirror we call, The Watcher, and we're able to study the realms we observe as well as the beings living among them. The mirror is hard to find because we have it in secrecy deeply within the castle; It's only a matter of time before they find it and use it to look for me and trust me, they will. I knew about others like you that know about the angels, but only as a myth. You on the other hand, truly believe we're out there and now; you're seeing it right before your eyes." "What's your name?" He asked her as he sat down on the bed. "Edana," She sat in the balcony looking out the window again. The sky turned grey. "Tell me everything you got about my kind" She said. He stood up and walked towards his desk, opening a drawer and taking out a couple of files. He sat back on the bed and put the files down opening one about his first research on angels. "I know that about the realm you live among, Mordin, like i mentioned before. You can grow old and die from old age like humans but that would happen in thousand years which is why females can conceive a single offspring. Correct me if im wrong but you used to rule earth before the first humans." "You're right about those facts" she said looking at him. "How did you get this information?" she asked. "I sometimes have these dreams about angels. The dreams iv'e had them as long as i could remember. I choose to be a mythologist for this particular reason. I want to know why i get dreams about angels. Every time i dream about angels, i learn something new about them and i have no idea why i get these dreams. I would think an angel wants me to know that they're real and maybe they want me to let others know about their existence" he said. The room was quiet; the only sound being of the raindrops hitting the window as it rained. "If that was the case, we would just show up ourselves" she said. "I wouldn't have known you were able to do that, i don't learn much in each dream, but over the years i've taken notes about them and started using it to see if there's someone out there that could help me know about angels, but nobody knew about the knowledge i have" "Someone is making you get those dreams. They are giving you pieces of information about us, but who could it be?" She said, thinking of who would want to give a human information about their existence. It was now dark outside and it was still raining. "Why are you at war?" He asked; feeling curious about what could be happening in Mordin. She looked at him but before she could answer, they both hear the front door opening and the sound of Susan with their kids.
