This was an impossible situation! The old man only gets up twice! When he walks in, and when he leaves!
How in the whole wide world was he on his feet again? For who? The most useless man in the whole extended family?
Things must be going wrong.
"The potion that he gave grandpa must have bewitched the old man." Someone muttered.
This was a very strange situation, and none of the family members knew how to process it let alone accept it for what it was.
Even Jaai was as confused and stupefied as the rest of the family. When he had gone to the traditional healer to get the potion, he hadn't thought that it would mean a lot to his grandfather.
Although he was quite worried that the potency might be compromised because these herbal doctors can make up stories in order to sell their products.
Jaai never imagined that this potion would work so efficiently to the extent that the old man would get up on his feet, walk to him and hug him!
As if those gestures were not enough, Old Mr Hullevard has just announced openly that he felt very indebted to Jaai.
Archie's jaws dropped to the very floor as he watched. The members of Elaine family were the most worried and stunned speechless.
There was a situation few months ago. There was a family meeting going on about the Hullevard Firm. In the middle of the meeting, one of the family members had slumped and passed out.
The old man only moved in his seat, showing how shocked and worried he was!
But in this moment, the old man was standing on both feet, holding on to Jaai as though his whole life depended on it.
A lot of the family members were very envious of Jaai. They would kill the whole neighborhood for this opportunity that Jaai had just landed himself.
This situation could be compared to a comet rising up from the ocean towards the sky. The possibility was below zero.
"What the hell is happening?" Marcus muttered, his lips too heavy for him to pick.
Elaine could not find her voice. Jada had totally forgotten about her own plight. This new situation was very much drastic and unprecedented.
"You have bewitched grandpa!" A loud voice blarred out of nowhere.
All gazes were attuned to the pitch of the voice, heads moving in symphony to the sound.
Baron was seen stomping off his seat. His father was trying to call him back, but Baron seemed to be really hyperactive. He must have really gotten the short-temper from his father. A surplus for the matter.
"The potion is an enchantment potion. You bought it in order to bewitch grandpa! You want to mess with the mind of granda so that he would only favor you!" Baron yelled in accusation as soon as he stopped in front of Jaai.
Jaai was confused. He could never have imagined that someone could randomly hurl such a huge and humongous accusation at him.
"Where did you get it from? Huh! Confess right now when I'm being nice to you!!!" Baron grabbed Jaai by the collar and was about to choke him.
"Do you want me to slap you to death?! Is that when you will begin to talk?" Baron lifted one of his hands and was bringing it down angrily.
"Stop this madness!" Wirtz grabbed his son's shoulder and pulled him away.
"Father!" Baron was stunned that his father was stopping him from beating this nuisance up.
He could swear that his father always talked about wanting to kill Jaai every minute back at home! Why did his father stop him all of a sudden when he was about to ostracize the nincompoop?!
"Allow me to beat this bastard up!" Baron insisted.
"Have you lost your mind?!" Wirtz bellowed at his son. "Do you have no respect for my father?!"
When Baron saw that his father, Wirtz was really serious about this, he quickly backed away. He lifted his gaze and looked at Old Mr Hullevard who was just a step away from him.
He saw a scowl in the corner of the old man's face. The old man looked very angry!
In the Hullevard family, no one dared to interrupt the old man. There was a grave penalty for it.
But Baron hadn't only interrupted the old man, but he had picked a fight with the person who had just gained the favor of the old man, while the old man was standing directly in front of him!
Fear gripped every area of Baron's body, to the very depth of his bones.
Instantly, he dropped on his knees and buried his face between his knees. He didn't have the guts, no matter how little, to look at the old man ever again.
Everywhere was quiet when the old man cleared his throat. There was a wave of dread sweeping across the room, blowing against the courage of all the offsprings of Chairman Hullevard.
"I guess I have lost my respect in this family." The old man said. After this, he turned around and left.
"Father! Father please forgive us!!!" Wirtz cried on top of his voice.
He wanted to follow the old man but the caregiver stepped into his way.
"My husband wants to be alone." She said softly, but there was a great deal of anger in her voice.
She rolled her eyes then hurried after the old man.
"Father!" The rest of the children called after the old man.
Yet, Old Mr Hullevard didn't stop in his tracks. So it seemed, the most respected and honored day of the old man has been ruined.
As Wirtz watched his father walk away with the caregiver, his face has turned red, flushing with great rage.
He turned around in the same instant and glared at his son.
Baron was still kneeling with his face between his knees. He dare not lift his gaze.
"Get up!!!" He bent down and picked Baron's head up once.
"Honey!" Sophie ran to her husband. She knew what he was capable of when he loses his temper.
"Back away, woman!" He warned sternly and she stepped back.
Sophie kept her eyes peeled as Wirtz pulled Baron to his feet. After all, a mother would not stay idle and watch harm come to her son.
"Why did you do it?" Wirtz pushed Baron's face to the back as soon as Baron was up on his feet.
"Did I instruct you? What did I tell you about impulse?!" Wirtz asked Baron, every of his words dripped extreme ire.
Smack! He slapped Baron with a backhand.
"Honey!!!" Sophie ran to hug Wirtz in order to stop his hands from moving.
Wirtz looked at her dryly and scoffed. He pushed her away with all his might.
"I said get lost, woman!!!" He screamed.
After this, he grabbed Baron and started slapping him all over his face. With fists, back-hand, and palms.
"What are you going to do now?" He didn't stop.
Crack! There was a crack in Baron's nose.
"If father kicks us out of the family, will you take responsibility? Do you want to lose to this bum called Jaai?" As he spoke, he continuously beat his only son until blood filled his fist.
At this moment, blood has covered every corner of Baron's face.
"No!!!!" Sophie threw herself at him then pushed him away. She ran to her son and hugged him, crying her eyes out.
"This crazy woman!" He stomped to his wife again and grabbed her hair.
"I guess we know whose family causes nuisance now." A sudden feminine voice said behind Wirtz.
When Wirtz heard the voice, he stopped what he was about to do at once. He turned a glare to look at the person who dared to speak to him like that.
He saw Elaine walking to him with her neck high in the clouds.
Elaine can now show her ego. Her son-in-law has just won a favor from her father.
Wirtz let go of his wife's head and turned towards Elaine.
"What did you just say?" Wirtz asked, his eyes filled with bloodlust.
"Maybe the anger has made you deaf, little brother." Elaine stopped when she got to him. "I'll repeat myself."
Elaine scoffed. There was this air of confidence around her.
"Your family is such a big joke that pisses us off!" She added sternly.
"This little wench!" Wirtz lifted his hand and brought it down ruthlessly towards Elaine's face.
Grip! A sudden hand blocked his slap, stopping his hand midair. Flushed with rage, Wirtz turned to look at the person who dared to grab his arm with such strength.
"You should think twice." Jaai warned, pushing Wirtz's arm back.
