Chapter 9 - Moonsglow

"Yes," Arya said on the phone.

Damion had called wanting to know her decision, and was pleased to hear what she said.

She knew no one wanted this, but now, Arya wasn't going for work, or for her friend. She was going for revenge.

Her parents had died because of her, as she figured out that that alfa pup must have tried to prevent her from going out of the village.

Her grandfather was dead, yet she couldn't say her last goodbye, just because her family was too scared that the alfa will forcefully keep her there.

She didn't know she was a werewolf, because receiving her wolf would only alert the God damn alfa of her whereabouts.

She now knows that dire wolves don't exist in the wild, but yes, there was a totally new species of wolves out there, and she's not going for research, she's going to wipe them from existence.

"You will need to remember Bobo, you can never show your real eyes to anyone. You should always wear this necklace, but never let anyone see the pendant. You can even use this as a weapon," saying this, Kimberly took the moonstone in her hand, and slowly twisted it, and a small spray came from the pendant and sprayed Kimberly with something. She was prepared though, and quickly dodged.

"This was a spray of silver and wolfsbane, quite deadly for werewolves," Kimberly said, twisting it back. "Bobo, when you reach there, try looking for a woman called Patricia. Patricia Stones. She... I don't know if she's still alive or not, but if she is, she'd be a great help. Her loyalty had always been with your father, as she too was from Moonstone pack... but be careful and trust no one. Understood?" Kimberly said in a serious tone.

"And remember, you have never been to Moonsglow village before this, and have never seen anyone... especially the alfa before. Believe that, as they will know if you lie. They can hear your heartbeat." She added.

"I understand, aunt Kim. I promise I'll keep my guard up." Saying that, Arya sat in the company vehicle.

She knew her aunt meant well, and her uncle was worried about her safety, but she had to do this.

The van had all the research equipment, including laptops, esky, ice packs, chemicals that would be needed in research and even biohazard bags. There were even some injection for rabies and immunizations; and they had their flu shots before coming.

Her team included five members, all highly trained professionals, who were younger than her.

"Arya, are you wearing lens," one of the girls asked, as all of them stared at her.

"Yes, but don't say it to anyone, please," Arya said, looking at her green eyes in the mirror.

"But blue..." "Please Maryann, just keep this to yourself. All of you, my eye colour is green now. Don't say anything about my blue eyes," Arya said sharply. Maryann was a nosy one. She was like a four year old, asking questions all day, even personal questions that were non of her business.

There was a chorus of OKs.

"And listen up, we are going to assist Rebecca with 'her' project. We do what she asks us, and help wrap up this once and for all, and we all return together, got it? Another chorus of yes was heard. "Yes Mary? Any questions?" Arya sensed that Maryann couldn't live without asking something.

"What if we don't fine Miss Wells and her team? What then?"

"Simple, we complete the research and return back," Darian replied, smiling. He was the computer genius.

"Thank you Darian. And he's right; we have to compete her research and return with the results to Damion before he explodes." Arya added.

"Arya but..." "And no first name calling. You will call me Dr Hunter, while I'll call you by your respective surnames. Understood?" Arya was already tired of Maryann's questions. Had she not been a professional in tracking animal footprints, Arya would never have her in their team.

"Miss Hunter, why can't we look for them? Miss Wells and her team?"

"No! It could be dangerous. We all know wolves are carnivores, and this particular species are known to be aggressive. For all we know, they could already be...." Arya couldn't complete her sentence. Deep down, she hoped they were well.

There was silence.

The road was long and Arya looked outside at the trees that rushed by. The road snaked itself through the tall trees, barely giving room to sunlight.

"Why don't we stop somewhere to have lunch? It's still a long way after all!" Alex suggested. He was the 'always hungry' one. Where his food went, no one knew. He was slim as a stick, yet ate like an elephant.

"But didn't you just eat?" Shirley asked. She was the short one, but very intelligent. She could do any calculation with her mind.

"Why don't you just mind your own business, shorty," Alex shot back.

"Why don't you say shorty one more time, and see what excruciating pain feels like," Shirley growled back, her hands ready to clutch his crown jewels.

"That's enough! Both of you, just calm down. Don't make me throw you out," Arya screamed. These two just don't get along. If left unsupervised, they'll kill each other.

"I think we have to postpone the idea of lunch. Look," Amelia said from the front. She was their driver. She could drive so slow, a snail would win in a race, or she could make the car really fly. Amelia could drive everything, from a bicycle, to a four wheeler, to an excavation truck. Even a helicopter, all without even learning how to. She had the gift of driving.

Everyone looked out through the window and saw a sign that read:

WELCOME TO MOONSGLOW.

hope you enjoy your stay.

"Well, I guess we'll eat in Moonsglow then, right?" Alex asked. No one answered.

They stopped at a huge gate, and Arya stepped out, handing one of the guards a letter. Reading it, he gave it back to her, saying, "Give this to the man waiting at the next gate." Arya nodded Taking the letter back, she sat in the van and Amelia drove forward.

Arya was finally here. Moonsglow. There's no turning back now.
