"Why would this man wants to go alone with me? has he figured out my plan and wants to take care of me before my mom finds out?" Eva wondered, feeling a bit scared "You don't have to, we are already outside" Eva declined politely.
"Nonsense, I already said will, so I will, let's go"
Eva tried to refuse but he was persistent and just like that, they both walked back into the mall.
Eva looked left and right in case of any suspicious man in a mask or at least anything that seemed suspicious.
They reached the dresses section, "how may I be of help?" A young, decent-looking woman with a welcoming smile spoke "you have a beautiful daughter, sir" she complimented, crouching down to Eva's height.
"Well, ma-"
"thank you, I want to get her something nice, do you have something in mind?" Fredrick asked with a smile, cutting her off.
For hours, they laughed picking out different dresses of different colors, Eva tried her best to avoid taking something expensive but Every time Fredrick noticed and he would add it to their list
She knew deep down all she wanted what a plain black shirt but she accepted his generosity with opened arms, total forgetting about her initial thought that he could kidnap her
After two hours they returned to the car. They both entered, still laughing at the time they spent together "I am guessing you had a nice time" Eva mom spoke up not looking away from her phone.
"Yes, it was nice" Fredrick said before starting the car.
"Nice, I would describe it more than that , especially that fact that he was flirting with the lady every chance he got" Eva joked. Deep down, she felt scared and conflicted. "What if he was a bad person? would someone who wants to steal all her mom properties be taking us out?"
Eva said to herself and decided she wasn't going to make him sign the papers she initially brought to home, but if she asked for it back now, he would suspect something she thought for a while and then her mind was made up, she'd steal them.
Fredrick got a call and he immediately hung up. The caller was persistent and kept trying but he hung up every time. "why don't you answer it" Eva mom spoke
"I will do that when we get home" Fredrick said looking a bit annoyed, when they got home Fredrick was the first too get down from the car "I would be in my office all day so no one should disturb me" he said before leaving the rest behind.
Everyone looked a bit confused but decided not to question him.
Eva looked at the dresses she just bought laid down on her bed color by color, she heard a knock on her door
She went to check who it was, it was Luke and Lizzy but before she could say anything they pushed past her and entered the room.
"Hey! You can't just enter my room…"
"news flash, we just did" Lizzy said, shocking Eva. "This sweet little devil" Eva thought with a frustrated smile. Lizzy, the only one she actually enjoyed in the family was being rude to her. She couldn't help but wonder why
"Wow what a beautiful dress" Lizzy said picking up a blue dress "yes, it was actually-"
"I didn't ask" Lizzy said cutting her off, Eva's anger spiked. "what the hell is going on?"
Lizzy went to the bed side drawer and picked out a scissors "what is that for?" Eva asked in horror.
"Well, unfortunately I am to young to handle a blade or a knife so, this will have to do" Lizzy replied with a devilish smile. She grabbed a dress and severed it in half.
"NO!" Eva yelled has she tried to take the scissors from her but Like held her back.
"I guess you think you're special because you're beautiful or that you're smart." Lizzy smiled and then her face went dark. She was no longer the sweet little girl Eva knew. Her voice sent a chill down Eva's spine; she was like a completely different person. Lizzy continued, her voice cold and not like any kid her age. "Well, in this house, we make the rules and if it wasn't for your mom you'd have been our maid, you freak" Luke said has Lizzy ripped more clothes till they were all in pieces. They snickered and smirked, finally letting her go.
"What have you done?" Eva's said, looking at some pieces of what is left of her dress on the floor, her eyes wide with a mix of emotions; hate, anger, sadness…
"Calm down, your not even crying, am sure you could get yourself another one" Lizzy said, grinning
Whenever Eva was upset, she would usually just cry to herself or sleep. She was never the type to get angry, but something about today was different. She looked over her shoulder, with a psychotic grin on her face, turning to Lizzy "You will pay for this" Eva threatened, her voice, laced with venom. Lizzy felt her blood run cold for a moment but she regained her composure and smirked.
Eva stood up and looked at Lizzy and Luke, a part of her searching for a hint of remorse, hoping that they'd say it was all a prank but they stood there like they just did her a favor.
The thought of someone doing something nice to her, someone who wasn't even family. And this piece of shit ruined it, made her blood boil.
"What are you going to do? tell mummy?" Lizzy said laughing with Luke
Eva closed her eyes, trying to calm herself down. Consumed by rage and a sudden thrust for revenge, Eva wished she had a knife and she could stab someone's to death. A knife appeared in her hand. She smiled again, that same psychotic grin from earlier. The air felt heavy. Eva held out her hand, the knife hung in the air above it, pointing at Lizzy. Lizzy's eyes widened in fear. Eva pointed and the knife moved on its own.
The knife sped through the air, cutting Lizzy's arm. Lizzy screamed in agony and Eva's smile widened. Luke, paralyzed by fear, just stood watching the whole scenario. Lizzy fell down to the ground, blood trickles down her arm in tears, scared to her soul. Eva stared at the blood has it poured onto the floor.
She smiled wickedly "Would you like a few more? I promise I won't fail to kill you this time…" Eva said still grinning like a predator, playing with his meal.
Lizzy held her hand in shock and pain "A-are you crazy?" she said already in tears. Luke quickly carried Lizzy and rushed out of the room. Eva watched with a smirk "Was it something I said?"
Suddenly, the room started spinning and her head hurt like it was about to explode. She held her head and wiped a bit of blood from her nostril "It seems this vessel is not strong enough yet." She chuckles "Not to worry, I will wait my child… until you're ready to fulfil your destiny". And then… everything went black.
"Eva cut my hand!" Lizzy said has she showed Eva's mom. She stared in horror "what!? How? When?…" Eva's mother's eyes widened in shock.
"Luke! Call the ambulance!" Eva mom yelled has she told Luke as he grabbed his phone and started to dial emergency service, she held Lizzy in her hand and called Eva repeatedly but no response
Fredrick came down looking annoyed by all the commotion. As soon as he came to the scene in front of him made him turn pale. He held Lizzy in his arms and use a cloth to try to stop the bleeding. Eva's mother ran up to Eva's room "Eva!". She was surprised, Eva was lying on the floor, bleeding from her nose. Her pulse was weak and her temperature was significantly high. She knelt down in front of her, panicking "Eva! Wake up!"
