Eva decided not to call her out. If Jayne didn't want to tell her about her family just yet, then she should wait until she does and She could know about Eva's.
Eva walked home. she walked into the house, greeting everyone she came across. Everyone turned their heads to be sure someone else hadn't entered the house.
When it was dinner time, Eva came down and joined them all, helping her mother to serve the food and set up the table, then she took herself and sat on the dinning table, prayed and ate, ignoring all the eye that were on her that moment.
Everyone else was scared to eat, "Eva served us food? EVA??" they all thought, raising their eyebrows to one another before picking up their cutlery and eating slowly.
As soon has they were all done, Eva picked up everyone's dishes and headed to the kitchen to wash them.
"should we be scared?" Luke asked, seemingly bring the most dumbfounded person there. "I am also very confused"
That night everyone proceeded to bed early, they all concluded that Eva had either been kidnapped or possessed…
In the morning, Eva woke up to a knock on her door; as always "I am not going today, I don't feel so good"
The sound of her mother's steps walking away came to an abrupt stop and then it proceeded to her door. The door creaked open an her mother's head popped in to make sure Eva was the one sleeping in her bed. Alas, she was the one
She closed the door back and left in a deep confusion, Luke was already in the car with
Frederick. Fredrick came inside back "where is Eva?" he asked
"she said she isn't going today" her mom replied
"Eva, Eva wants to miss a day of school? Wow, I think she really hit her head" he said before heading back to the car and driving off
Eva mom, made sure she did everything she needed to do, Lizzy was asleep, she went up stairs to her room to watch something
There was a knock on the door few minutes later, it was Eva "it must be very important, judging from the fact you decided to come to my room for the first time" Eva mom said turning off the television
"nothing serious really, just wanted to talk about how much money your dad left you aside the two mansions left in your name, wow" Eva said has her mom listened, the smile on her face faded
"who told you this?" she asked in a serious tone. Eva just gave her the files she took from Fredrick and it's interpretation, she stared at it like she refused to believe what she was seeing
She read it and re-read each line before lifting her head back up, "what is this?" she asked
"the files, your precious soon-to-be husband, for three years, has planned to make you sign" Eva said walking towards the loose floor board and picking out the original file that was there and exchanging it with the one she and Jayne made
"What are you doing?" her mom asked raising her head up to get a better view of what she was doing on the floor
Eva gave her the new printed paper she planned to exchange with and the interpretation to her, "this is another copy, tampered to our favor of course, that I made so I could turn the tables on him"
"and why should I trust the only child that hates me the most" she asked
"Firstly I don't despise you, you just never treated me as your own, and whether you believe me or not is your choice, your decision. I'm just here to make sure you got the warning firsthand" Eva said has she prepared to leave
"Wait, why are you doing this for me? Form where, you stand, I deserve everything bad that comes, you could call it karma, if you must.
" Eva stopped not turning back to look at her "we don't have a good relationship and I think you are aware…But… whether I like it or not, you are still the only one I have close to family. So, yeah, I do this because throughout those terrible days and things you have done, you were actually there when needed you, even if it is just a bit" she said and walked out of the room, leaving her mom in thoughts. .....
Eva got bored of staying at home and decided to stroll out, she walked along the neighborhood, looking at all the houses that were lined up until her eyes fell on a little boy wandering along the street.
She reached a neighborhood, she only saw at a distance from her room. It was a bit dark most of the time and cops stop there once in a while to look around.
"Where are your parents?" she asked but the boy didn't reply, he just kept shaking, Eva held his hand and gave him a warm smile and hugged him for a while
She redrew herself and the boy felt calm, "T-t-they're c-chasing me" the boy managed to say.
Eva looked at him "who?" she asked
"John? John!"
"Mummy…" the boy said has he ran away from Eva and to meet a woman behind her.
Eva turned around to see the woman holding John like she hadn't seen him in years, they both sobbed in each other embrace
"Hey kid" a deep man said from afar, his eyes flashing with a dangerous glint.
Eva turned to see some men standing a few steps away from them, each of them holding a weapon.
"Hey beauty, how about we take the boy and you. Are you single?" one of the men spoke up
Eva had never encountered such a situation before , she didn't know what to do. She stepped back, prepared to run.
"are you scared?, don't be we won't harm you if you behave. " another man said with a maniac smile, moving move closer
Her heart was racing, she kept on walking backwards until she could feel the mother and son behind her
"come to us sweetheart, we aren't bad people, they just owe us some money and we needed to give them a little warning since they aren't ready to pay up yet." they spoke, coming closer
Eva asked the mother "are you legs hurt?", she shook her head in fear
"Good, cause I will need you to run and take has many corners has you can, do not let them catch you"
"What of my baby boy?"
"leave him with me I will take care of him."
" you are wasting time girly" one of the men spoke grabbing a bat
Eva just held the boy hand tightly and shouted "run" and they both sprinted in different alley
