"Rise and shine, my bodyguard; this is not time to be sleeping!" The energetic princess popped into Kai's room, with a smile flashing on her face, giving Kai a "good morning, beautiful" look.
"Ohh, come on, princess, this early?" Kai said as he pulled the blanket over his head as he tried to continue his sleep.
The princess was thunderstruck by Kai's words as her heart thudded louder for a second. The sun was up, over the mountains, as the golden shine disappeared, with the streets full of playing kids.
'Huh! Is he for real? I gave him 3 hours after the sun rose up, but he's still pulling that blanket as if he's pulling some food! I'm even hungry since I skipped my breakfast in order to eat….' Suddenly, before the princess finished her sentence, her stomach growled louder. She swiftly clutched her stomach as a bit of hunger pain attacked her.
"Hey Kai, just wake up already before I get angry. Did you even see the sun?" the princess said, and surprisingly, Kai threw away his blankets and started to check around. He saw the bright light shining outside, while the beauty of the princess shone in front of him.
"Good morning, princess! Sorry I overslept!" Kai stood up and bowed fast as he panted while his heart thudded loud. His mind raced, thinking about what the princess would say.
'Ohh, damnit, how did I even forget that I was a bodyguard? The worst part was that I remembered that she was a princess.'
"Seraphina," Kai said in his mind.
'Really, I'm going to kill you, even in my dreams, if I see you!'
'[You are such a dumbass.]'
'Grrr!'
His eyes blazed with rage as Seraphina continued to annoy him while he was bowing down to the princess. His mind raced, thinking about whether the princess would forgive him or not.
"Just stand up straight and don't do it again. My stomach is empty as if I last ate 5 days ago, so let's forget about this and get ready for breakfast since I was waiting for you," the princess said as she listened to her growling stomach.
Suddenly, Kai also growled, getting his hand to tighten it, trying to stop it from making noise.
"Ohh, you are hungry too?" A warm chuckle bloomed in Sonia's face as she looked at the starving Kai.
Kai scratched his head out of embarrassment while his two eyes stared elsewhere and said, "Ah, I guess so."
The two had some breakfast, and the princess wanted to stretch her legs, so they went on a walk, with Kai as a bodyguard.
They pierced the Luminaris streets, where kids were enjoying their day playing around with heart-touching smiles looming on their faces.
The princess opened up to Kai and got him surprised as she said, "So, do you know how to wield a sword?"
"Embarrassingly not, I was a bit used to guns that got me killed." Kai said, with his eyes filled with disappointment.
