Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Moon Viewing Mountain

At the Pewter City Gym, Brock's father handed Alex Carter a gray badge. With both of his Pokémon defeated, it was time to present the Gym's token.

"You are the most impressive new Trainer I've ever seen. May I ask where you're from?" Brock's father inquired, intrigued by Alex's identity. Over the years, many talented Trainers had passed through, but capturing such a powerful Haunter and displaying such control in battle was rare.

"I'm from Pallet Town," Alex replied.

"Pallet Town? Do you know Ash?" Brock's father was surprised, knowing Ash had recently left with his son.

"Of course, I know him. We grew up together in Pallet Town. I even met him in Viridian Forest," Alex responded.

"Haha, the Trainers from Pallet Town are truly exceptional... How about it, Alex? Would you like to stay for a meal?" Brock's father, now more fond of Alex, invited him to join for a meal.

However, Alex had no intention of staying and politely declined. Time was of the essence. Having secured the gray badge in Pewter City, he planned to head to Mt. Moon to deal with the group of Clefairy and seize the Moon Stones they had collected.

This felt a bit like something a Villain would do, but in this world, one is often compelled to take certain actions. Leaving Pewter City, Alex made his way to Mt. Moon.

Within Mt. Moon, weak Pokémon occasionally appeared, but Alex ignored them, heading straight for the summit where a cave was located.

Spotting the cave, Alex knew he had found the right place.

In the original anime, Clefairy inhabited this cave, alongside Zubat, Paras, and Sandshrew.

According to the plot, Team Rocket had previously targeted this location due to the notoriety of the Moon Stones.

However, they had sent the bumbling duo, who failed to secure the Moon Stones. Instead, some Clefairy evolved into Clefable.

This posed a bit of a challenge for Alex.

Fortunately, Alex had prepared well. If he was to be a Villain, he had to be thorough; when he acted, it had to be impressive!

After his Pewter City Gym victory, the system rewarded him with three thousand points, bringing his total to ten thousand.

He then exchanged points for two high-tech items from the point mall: a Hypnotic Smoke Generator and an Anesthetic Powder Blower.

These cost eight thousand points, leaving him with two thousand.

The gadgets were effective. Pokémon with combat power below 200 would faint instantly, and those below 500 would see their strength greatly diminished.

Only Pokémon with over 500 combat power would remain unaffected.

In the Kanto Region, wild Pokémon rarely exceeded 500 combat power, boosting Alex's confidence. Dealing with the cave meant not only acquiring Moon Stones but rapidly advancing his Pokémon's growth... Late at night, Alex reached the cave entrance atop Mt. Moon.

Surprisingly, two people were there.

Dressed in white coats, they appeared to be researchers.

"Oh, right, in the anime, a researcher from the Pewter City Science Museum was at Mt. Moon to protect it from Villains," Alex recalled.

Curiously, he remembered only one researcher, but there were two now.

And the other was a stunning beauty!

She had a perfect figure, wearing a tight white lab coat and round glasses, jotting down notes on the mountain's stones.

Her refreshing smile as she glanced back made hearts flutter.

"Damn, a great beauty appearing in the middle of the night, what's going on?" Alex's thoughts stirred...

"Emily, it's tough up here. You just graduated; you should be in the city's research institute focusing on projects, not running up here," another researcher advised.

"It's not tough, and I won't be here long. I'm writing a research report on Mt. Moon," the beauty named Emily replied with a smile.

During their conversation, a puff of smoke drifted over. Alex had deployed the Hypnotic Smoke Generator from his spatial backpack.

The smoke caused them to gradually collapse.

Seeing this, Alex, masked, emerged from the shadows. He placed the Anesthetic Powder Blower at the cave entrance and used it inside.

Soon, Haunter was sent to scout.

After surveying the cave, Haunter returned, flashing Alex a mischievous grin, signaling success.

Alex released Shiny Weedle.

"I'll leave the cave to you two. After you've had your fill, bring me the Moon Stones and anything else useful," Alex instructed.

With that, the two entered the cave.

Shortly after, the system notified Alex of their increasing combat power, indicating they were defeating many Pokémon.

Turning his attention to the beautiful Emily, Alex didn't hesitate. He picked her up and placed her inside the airship.

What transpired inside remained a mystery.
