Two days passed on Mt. Moon.
During this time, Alex Carter claimed the cave at the summit, using the Pokémon inside as training fodder for his own.
Haunter's combat power had reached an impressive 840 points, with its evolution value at 60%, nearing its transformation into Gengar.
Gengar's wicked demeanor and powerful abilities made it an ideal choice for a Villain's mid-to-late stage team.
Meanwhile, Alex's Shiny Grimer had grown immensely. Its evolution value soared to 99% after fusing with many Pokémon. Although it hadn't fully evolved yet, this delay allowed it to continue fusing and increasing its combat power, growing stronger.
Suddenly, the Shiny Grimer within the cave became agitated. After days of fusion, its body had grown significantly larger. As it wriggled over some unconscious Paras and Zubat, they melded into it at a rapid pace.
But this Grimer didn't stop there; it crawled deeper into the cave, seeking stronger Clefable.
Alex hadn't touched the three Clefable, merely using Kakuna's String Shot to restrict their movements. Though awake, they were unable to escape.
Alex had originally reserved these Clefable for Haunter.
Seeing Shiny Grimer continue fusing with Pokémon and rapidly increasing its combat power, Alex allowed it to proceed.
"System Alert: Shiny Grimer activated fusion power, successfully fused with Clefable, Combat Power +95. Learned new skill: Melt."
..."System Alert: Shiny Grimer activated fusion power, successfully fused with Clefable, Combat Power +85."
..."System Alert: Shiny Grimer activated fusion power, successfully fused with Clefable, Combat Power +90."
..."System Alert: Shiny Grimer activated fusion power, successfully fused with Clefairy, Combat Power +20."
Shiny Grimer seemed possessed, continuously fusing within the cave. Its body swelled, seemingly on the verge of bursting.
Yet its combat power surged at an astounding rate.
In minutes, it reached 500 points.
Finally, its evolution value hit 100%, and it began evolving, glowing as it transformed into a Shiny Muk.
"System Alert: Shiny Grimer begins evolution."
"Evolution successful, becoming Shiny Muk."
...**Name:** Shiny Muk
A Poison-type Pokémon living in filth like sewers and landfills. It can squeeze through iron gates and manhole covers. Muk feeds on human-made waste.
**Skills:** Mud-Slap, Sludge Bomb, Body Slam, Melt, Dig, Double Team
**Special Ability:** Fusion
**Evolution Value:** 0 (Next stage: Filth King. Evolving into Filth King requires a great opportunity and consumption of much garbage. A Filth King causes disasters, decaying ground, polluting air, and spreading disease wherever it goes.)
**Combat Power:** 800 points
Witnessing Shiny Muk's evolution, Alex was astonished. "Wow, it reached 800 points of combat power?"
Shiny Muk's body was now colorful, yet still quite ugly.
But the prospect of evolving into a Filth King?
Alex was speechless.
In the original anime, Grimer's evolved form was never shown. Alex thought Muk was its peak (excluding Mega Evolution).
Who knew it could continue evolving?
The Pokémon world is full of surprises, and many evolutionary paths remain unexplored.
Moreover, Shiny Muk gained new skills: Dig and Double Team, both valuable additions.
"Gurgle, gurgle."
Shiny Muk approached Alex, making strange noises that gave him a slight headache.
Thankfully, Shiny Muk's faint fragrance balanced Alex's mood.
With the cave nearly devoid of Pokémon, Alex shrugged. "That's enough. I've lingered on Mt. Moon for two or three days; it's time to move on."
He couldn't completely deplete the cave's Pokémon population...
Outside the cave, Alex checked on Kakuna. Seeing no signs of evolution, he recalled it into its Poké Ball and returned to the airship.
Inside, Emily was busy cleaning. Seeing Alex, she eagerly greeted him.
Pleased with her diligence, Alex felt a twinge of guilt for his actions.
"Emily, you've been dreaming, and this dream... is ending."
Alex led Emily off the airship, standing at the cabin door.
Conflicted, Alex realized having such a beautiful woman onboard was a pleasant thought.
Yet it also led to self-reproach.
"Damn, I'm not cut out to be a Villain," Alex muttered.
As Alex prepared the airship for takeoff, Emily called out from outside.
"Hey, these past days felt like a dream, but I have no regrets. I'm happy to have met you. Actually, I've been awake these days but stayed quiet because I've fallen for you, and I want to stay with you."
Hearing this, Alex was taken aback.
He recalled Haunter's initial hypnosis of Emily, but hadn't continued afterward.
Then... what about the following days?
"I know you're destined for great things, but can you tell me how to find you again?" Emily asked, tears in her eyes.
The airship was already airborne.
Alex considered stopping and bringing Emily along, touched by her devotion.
But knowing the dangers ahead, he decided to wait. There would be other opportunities.
"Emily, I'll participate in the Kanto League. You can watch my matches then... We'll meet again!" Alex assured.
