Moonlight had risen, flooding its silver light over the sad, miserable land consumed by the volcanic lava.
Travis sat in a corner inside the cave, battling with questions that only grew heavier the more he tried to answer them. Apparently, he was the only one scared. The lion king didn't show a single atom of fear despite his people being vanquished, and despite the fact that he and the cubs might be next.
And the dragon, Kai… well, he was another story entirely. The guy didn't seem to give a fuck and was only helping because of him. Travis still didn't understand the fixation Kai had on him, though the dragon was clearly enthralled.
