"I want to take you somewhere today."
Marcus's voice woke Aria from sleep. She opened her eyes to find him already dressed, standing by the window with his phone in hand.
"Where?" she asked, her voice still rough from sleep.
"It's a surprise. But wear something comfortable. We'll be walking."
Aria sat up, "What time is it?" she asked.
"Eight. I let you sleep in. You needed it after last night."
Last night. The gallery and Vera's interruption. The possessive way Marcus had claimed her afterward, making it clear she belonged to him and no one else.
"Give me thirty minutes," Aria said.
"Take forty. I have calls to make anyway."
She showered and dressed in dark jeans and a sweater. When she returned, Marcus was in the living,, speaking French into his phone. He switched to English when he saw her.
"Perfect. We'll discuss further when I'm back in New York. Yes, I understand the timeline." He ended the call. "Ready?"
"Where are we going?"
"You'll see."
