"Give me a break," I slowly opened my eyes.
I smiled, seeing him standing tall beside me.
His cold, indifferent eyes felt like they were pulling me in.
This man is so charismatic with that coldness of his.
I did not bother with the gun pointed at me as I slowly sat up.
I was inside his office, lying on his sofa, waiting for him.
"I was here too early, can't you at least let me rest on your sofa. You're stingy, you know that?"
I yawned, "I sent the video to your private email. I told you about it, right? The taste test, I will let you have. You don't have any social media or WhatsApp, that would have been easier."
He stared at me for a few seconds before putting down his gun.
He then walked to his table and sat down.
Michael, still looking uncertain about how things unfolded, walked beside him before handing him the tablet.
Seeing as he was interested in watching, I decided to lie back down and once again close my eyes.
My consciousness slowly drifted without intending to. Every sound seemed to be getting further.
...
"This is..."
Michael was not shocked at how brutal Lilith was with the way she swung the metal pipe towards the three students who weren't even fighting back.
Instead, he was shocked by three things.
One was of how she controlled everyone into saying and doing whatever she said.
He heard that Gideon Thomas and the other two were adamant in saying that it was a crazy chihuahua that attacked them.
The CCTV camera where the video Lilith sent was also checked, but none of what happened was seen in the footage that the police have retrieved.
Together with the video of the two female students falling off the stairs, as she had told them to do.
And how the rest of the onlookers believed that the other two had truly just slipped.
Second was how she cleaned the CCTV footage so as not to show anything that she did. How she manipulated everything without too much time.
And lastly...
Michael glanced down at Kieran.
Her coldness was the same as the coldness that Kieran exudes. Not just the coldness, even with how sinister she does things.
The only difference was that she did not mind the mess, while Kieran liked finishing everything in one go.
When he looked up at Lilith...
"Kieran, she..."
Kieran looked up as well.
They can tell that she had actually fallen asleep.
"..."
Michael looked back at Kieran and saw him focusing on the documents.
'He left her to sleep?'
Michael wondered what Kieran saw in Lilith, whom he had never met before, to allow her to do the things she's been doing without killing her.
...
I abruptly sat up.
I checked the time, and thirty minutes have passed.
I did not expect that I'd actually fall asleep in a place where I'd lose my life so easily.
I slowly turned to the two.
Kieran was signing papers while Michael was checking the tablet in his hands.
"I guess I take back my words. But a blanket would be nice, it's cold in your office."
I stood up just as Michael frowned at my words. I smiled at him before walking closer to the table.
I took a box out of my jacket pocket and noticed that Kieran's brows slightly furrowed.
It seems he really disliked the cupcake I left behind.
This time, the box was also black, a small jewelry box. It is no longer a bright colored item.
From my peripheral vision, I noticed Michael's reaction.
He was shocked.
I opened the box and the pair of rings I bought was shown.
They were simple silver-gold bands, adjustable to the size of the finger.
Kieran finally looked up at me.
"..."
"What I showed you was just a taste."
I brought my forefinger and thumb close, holding them just centimeters apart to show how small the taste I was talking about was.
"Taste testers in food are small, just to let your tongue have a little taste, not allowing you to savor it. Making you buy the whole thing."
I took out the ring intended for him.
"Marry me and I'll let you have the best and most entertaining full-course meal you'd ever have."
He glanced at the ring in my hand before looking back at me.
"Reason."
I raised an eyebrow. He once again spoke, asking me for the reason why I had chosen him specifically.
Of course he knew I have other reasons.
Well, I had two reasons, and one was because of his character.
The other...
I smiled, reaching the depths of my eyes, the sweetest smile that I have.
I leaned forward and touched his left hand. The coldness in his eyes intensified, but he did not pull away.
I held it up and placed the ring close to his ring finger.
"I want to play... in the underworld."
There were no more changes in his face.
He was not shocked either that I knew of his involvement in the underworld.
"I told you. I will let blood rain. I will turn the country upside down. Maybe even the world. And that means all sides of it."
I looked down at his ring finger.
"This entertainment, you'll never find it anywhere else. So marry me, Kieran Sinclair. And watch beside me the best show you'll ever watch."
I slid the ring on his finger before taking the ring meant for me and handing it to him.
He wordlessly took it, rubbed it with his finger for a few seconds, before looking back at me.
I smiled, no longer that sweet smile from a while ago, extended my hand to him, and allowed him to slide the ring on my finger.
"Shall we go and get our marriage certificate?" I asked.
The game is on.
