"You're sending me there?" I beamed.
When we stepped out at 7:30, Kieran looked at me before glancing at his car.
So I asked for confirmation if I understood it right.
He nodded once before getting in. Michael went to the driver's side, no longer surprised at Kieran's decision.
I happily walked to the other side and got in.
"You already know where the Kingsleys' main mansion is?" I asked Michael.
Michael nodded.
I did not bother with where I'd ride after the will reading. There are cars and drivers in the main mansion.
I would be the chairwoman after the reading, so they will have no choice but to serve me.
Most of the servants in the main mansion did not like me either because of how problematic I was. Sometimes, they'd act like they did not hear me when I ordered them for something.
At first, I'd make more trouble for them, but after a few times, I found it too boring. Ignoring them became my norm.
Now, if they don't serve me, then I will just fire them, and no one would be able to do anything about it.
Thinking about when I got there, and they still look down on me, I couldn't help but giggle.
Firing them with a flick of my hand and the face they'd have when that happens excites me more.
I saw Michael glance in the rear-view mirror, and I simply shook my head.
I glanced at Kieran, but his eyes were already closed.
Having nothing else to do, I did the same.
Somehow, I felt my consciousness once again drifting away.
...
"Miss Kingsley."
I slowly opened my eyes.
"Wow, you guys must have some sleeping pill aura. This is the second time I have fallen asleep while with you," I reacted when I woke up from Michael's calling.
"We have arrived," Michael no longer reacted to my words and simply informed me.
I looked around and saw the big gates of the main mansion.
It is two minutes away by car to the main mansion, but if I walk, it would take a few more minutes.
I laughed, "I must be the last one to come. They did not leave the gate open at all."
Michael glanced at me.
"Do you feel bad?" I asked him.
He looked in front.
"Cold. You guys are really cousins."
I shrugged, "Oh well, I guess I'll just have to kick that gate open."
I was about to step down when Michael spoke, "Grandfather."
I looked in front and found another car that had just arrived.
It seems that I came just in time for the will to arrive.
I couldn't help but laugh.
"I guess, even fate does not get along with them. They would need to open the gate if they want the will to be read today."
I sat comfortably and leaned back, waiting for the gate to be opened.
Kieran looked at me.
I looked at him before putting on a wronged expression.
"You already brought me here, are you going to make me walk from the gate to the mansion?"
He simply closed his eyes.
I shrugged while Michael drove in front of Patrick Sinclair's car.
My relatives surely do not recognize this car, and we arrived almost at the same time as Patrick Sinclair. They must have thought that the one holding the will brought two cars.
I looked back and saw the gates closing. I giggled once again. How childish of them.
When we arrived in front of the mansion, I watched my relatives smile and welcome us.
I grinned and got down.
"My, my. Uncle, you are so excited to see me after so long?"
Richard Kingsley's smile dropped instantly.
The unexpected caused him to be unable to act the good uncle act.
"What's with the sudden change, uncle?"
Richard cleared his throat, "You're here."
"You told me today was the will reading."
"What father meant was that you were late."
I looked at the one who spoke.
Richard Kingsley was the younger brother of my father, Leonard Kingsley. The second child of Jayden Kingsley.
And the one who spoke was Gary Kingsley, his eldest son. He is of the same age as Riven.
"I am on time, though," I replied.
"You should have arrived before 9 am."
"Gary," Richard called out.
"Lilith had just lost... her family. Don't be too hard on her."
Gary looked away in irritation.
I kept on my smile, but it was no longer the smile of making fun of them. Instead, it turned into a mocking one.
Something they did not seem to notice as Richard looked at me while sporting a gentle smile.
"As long as you're here now."
I suddenly felt bored with making fun of them.
Richard looked at the car I got down from. He furrowed his brows. It seems that he recognized it a little but could not remember just who it is that owns it.
Just then, the other car's door opened, and the one who stepped out caused the rest of them to be in shock.
"Sir Patrick Sinclair," Richard said in disbelief.
I came up with an idea while looking at their faces.
I smiled, took a deep breath, and slowly walked over to Patrick Sinclair.
"I greet grandfather," I respectfully said while bowing slightly, causing another bout of silence from my relatives.
Patrick stared at me for a few seconds.
"Hmm," he acknowledged my greeting with an indifferent look on his face.
The way he smiled at the cemetery was truly just an act.
Looking at his serious face now, I finally understood where Kieran got his paralyzed facial muscles.
But his acknowledgment of my greeting sent another wave of shock to my relatives.
And I couldn't help but smile wider.
This is so fun.
