CHAPTER 6 — THE PACT OF TWO MONSTERS
Morning sunlight fell across the academy courtyard.
Lare walked calmly, but he could feel something behind him.
Footsteps.
Slow… suspicious.
Very, very annoying.
He finally turned.
Lare:
"HEY. Idiot prince. Do you have any problem following me like a lost puppy?"
Aricus froze with a noble smile that made Lare want to punch him.
Aricus:
"I'm observing you. You look weird."
Lare:
"Your face looks weird. Now stop following me."
Raen, who was watching from the gate, burst into laughter.
Raen:
"Prince, you got roasted before breakfast!"
Aricus glared at him.
Aricus:
"Shut up, Raen. Go polish your wooden sword."
Raen:
"My wooden sword has more use than your royal brain!"
The three bickered for a full minute until Aricus suddenly pointed at Lare.
Aricus:
"Let's make a pact.
You help me awaken my God Body…
And I will teach you advanced magic and sword techniques."
Lare blinked.
Lare:
"…Why should I?"
Aricus:
"Because you're talented. And because you're the only one who can help me drain my inner energy safely."
Lare looked at him deeply.
He didn't trust this prince… but the training offer was too good.
Lare:
"Fine. But if you annoy me, I'm throwing you into the lake."
Aricus:
"Deal."
Raen clapped his hands.
Raen:
"Great! Two idiots made an agreement. I'm saved."
Lare & Aricus:
"WE ARE NOT IDIOTS!"
The pact was formed—an alliance of rivalry and friendship.
