Soon, the three of them arrived at the OB-GYN department and was asked to go in and see the obstetrician. They stared at each other wondering what could have been the urgency for them to even call Aunt Sophie.
"Miss April Carter?" The obstetrician called in a solemn tone immediately she entered her office as they were all still standing waiting.
"Yes! That's me." April confirmed with a confused expression on her face wondering what went wrong.
After confirming the name, the obstetrician suddenly went down on her knees and bowed in front of them.
"Doctor? What is going on? You don't need to do this, whatever has happened we can always resolve it." Aunt Sophie tried to convince the obstetrician to stand on her feet, but she remained adamant.
"Please let me remain like this, I owe you an apology– I have— done wrong to your family and I deserve to be punished." The obstetrician pleaded in a loud voice while still on her knees trembling.
The three standing were confused wondering what the obstetrician might have done wrong.
"Please explain your words clearly, we are very confused here, it will be best if you make proper clarification." Ruby's brows furrowed as she spoke in a frown.
"I — I- I– we- accidentally— Inseminated Miss April Carter instead of another person. Please forgive me Ma'am." The obstetrician pleading and trembling with fear in her voice.
April heard a ringing sound in her ears before she could process what she heard from the obstetrician same with Aunt Sophie and Ruby. They all have the same expression, looking dumbfounded while standing.
"You— You– Repeat what you said!" Aunt Sophie screamed at the obstetrician causing her to shake even more.
April couldn't say anything and almost fell on the ground, but her friend quickly held her tight.
"Ma– madam, please calm down, I'm sure we can sort this out."
"I should calm down?"
"Because of you— Because of you my niece got pregnant! What are you going to do about that! Huh?" Aunt Sophie screamed.
"She— she's– She's Pregnant?" The obstetrician widened her eyes feeling as if thunder is about to strike her from above. This is a grave crime that puts her license at stake if known to the public. She can also be sued millions of dollars for that so not only License is at stake, but her career will also automatically be over.
"Please forgive me! Please forgive me!" The obstetrician pleading continuously but Aunt Sophie wasn't having it, meanwhile tears had began flowing April's cheeks.
She was still thinking about how to convince Jake Steele to let her get a divorce so she could continue her studies, and now she's pregnant. How is she going to continue her studies like that plus she doesn't even know what he would do to her if he's been told that she got pregnant with another man's child.
All these questions were still going on in her head when someone came into the office.
"Where's that b*tch! Get out of my way before I get you arrested!" Lynn Carter screamed in her tiny voice at the nurses by the door trying to prevent her from going in.
"Which of you is the b*tch that stole the donor?" Lynn Carter screamed as her eyes scanned the office.
"Miss Carter, please ca- calm down. All of these can be sorted out." The obstetrician still on her knees pleading before Lynn landed a hot slap on her cheeks.
"Shut up that mouth of yours before I lock it up for you! I trusted you with the donor and you gave it out like it was nothing. Where the hell I'm I supposed to get another one!" Lynn screamed causing the obstetrician to tremble.
With the situation right now, Aunt Sophie can only understand that the donor was meant for Lynn Carter but was accidentally given to April and how will the pregnancy issue be solved? She thought in her mind.
Ruby also remembered the last time they came, the receptionist called 'miss Carter' and it's all just starting to make sense. Meanwhile, April Carter is currently in her own world thinking about the things Jake Steele would do and her possibilities of not been able to study for the rest of her life.
"I believe I'm not talking to deaf humans." Lynn moved closer towards Aunt Sophie in a frown.
"Then I guess you should turn towards the one who created the mess instead of blaming the wrong person." Ruby spoke up and protected her friend.
"Miss— Lynn Carter, why not– let us— inform Mr Brook, so we can– sort this–." The obstetrician suggested still on her knees.
"No!" Lynn screamed at the doctor immediately she mentioned informing Mr Brook.
"We can't let him know about this! Not yet." Lynn whispered.
"You don't need to whisper; since it's not a secret anymore." A thick male voice sounding from the door.
"Mr— Brook?" The obstetrician muttered in tears.
Lucas Brook the donor of the sperm has finally arrived, but someone is burning deep inside because the truth has been revealed.
"Lu- Lucas? Wh-what brings you here?" Lynn stuttered with her eyes widened in shock.
Lucas Brook walks in with his secretary behind him, the atmosphere in the office changed more like the god of war was amongst them. Aunt Sophie and Ruby stood there watching and wondering who the young man is that made the angry Lynn to keep quiet.
"Miss Carter, isn't it?" Lucas Brook asked facing Lynn. "I wasn't aware you were so invested in my affairs for you to go this far, but whatever game you're playing at, I'm not interested."
"Lucas– I just wanted us to have some connection—, since your mother said we will be getting married soon-."
"Having a child would bring us closer to each other." Lynn smirked inwardly waiting for Lucas to reply but she got something else.
"Save the sentiments, miss Lynn Carter. It will be best if you take your leave right now." Lucas Brook's secretary Andrew instructed with his hand gestured towards the door.
"You! How dare you?" Lynn screamed at Andrew.
"Lucas! What do you mean by this? How can you treat me this way!" Lynn screamed loudly but all she got was silence and cold eyes staring at her.
"You'll regret this!" Lynn strode out of the office in anger while frowning.
