The next day, old man Brook and Lucas were already prepared to leave along with their bodyguards waiting for them. Andrew and Butler Finch were not excluded as they set out to leave in two latest Rolls Royce Phantom.
Lucas wasn't bothered by the surroundings or the presence of his grandfather as he continued to work on his laptop.
Moments later, the cars pulled up in front of a small residential building with few floors, so they made use of the stairs till they got to the front of the entrance.
Old man Brook and Lucas waited for a while by the door before someone answered.
"Hello miss!" Old man Brook greeted Ruby who answered the door with a frown after she saw Lucas standing beside the old man. And of course, Ruby recognizes him from the obstetrician's office the other day and couldn't forget his face not after what he did.
Soon, Aunt Sophie also joined her by the door and they both stare at each other in surprise and a bit of frown.
"Hello! How can we help you?" Aunt Sophie replied with a polite and firm tone.
"We are here to see miss April Carter, is she here?" Old man Brook asked with a slight smile hoping for a positive answer. Lucas stood there with his cold face not changing.
"Sorry! But she's not here. What's all of this about?" Ruby's face turned cold with a frown.
Old man Brook didn't say anything and instead wondered where she'd be since that was the only address found on her information.
"If you know exactly where she is, then it will be best if you let us know, it might be too late if you waste much time." Lucas spoke in his cold voice before Ruby flared up in anger.
"It will be best? Might be too late?" Ruby laughed painfully. "It's already too late!" She broke down in tears. "If only you were here few days early, then my friend wouldn't be in so much pain by now. We don't even know if she's alive." She screamed in hoarse voice with tears pointing at Lucas.
"Miss, what do you mean if she's alive? Did something happen to her?" Old man Brook's brows furrowed with worry.
Aunt Sophie had to explain to the old man with her eyes already filled with tears. "After she came back from the hospital few days ago, her husband Jake Steele– returned and took her away in rush. Since then– we couldn't reach her through the phone. Her husband wouldn't allow us access to visit either."
"That's outrageous! How dare he? Find me the address to Steele's residence, now!" Old man Brook's face turned furious with worry and anger.
"Grandfather, I'll take care of it." Lucas's cold face darkened at once as he entered one of the cars and drove away with speed. After listening to what happened to April, his determination to rescue her increased.
"Now– now who knows what Mr Steele have done to her." Ruby's tears flowed even harder with her body trembling in fear. Aunt Sophie as the female adult quickly turned to her and comforted her with her hands wrapped around Ruby's shoulder even though they were both scared.
"Don't worry, I'm sure April girl is safe." Old man Brook assured as his grip on the walking stick tightened.

Meanwhile, Jake Steele in his luxury apartment building is currently dressing up to leave the house for work. When old madam Steele knocked on the door to his room.
"Jake? Please open the door, I need to speak with you urgently." Old madam Steele sighed with worry when Jake finally flared up in anger.
"Mother! If you're here to plead on behalf of that prostitute, then forget about it."
"But- what if something bad happens to that poor girl? Please my son listen to me just this once."
"She has been locked up for two days now without food or water. What if something happens to that baby? Please- for the sake of the child she's carrying."
"For the sake of the child? It doesn't even belong to me. I won't let her eat or drink anything until she confesses who the father of the baby is. I only left for few weeks business trip and she's already pregnant with a bast**d child. How bold she is." Jake slammed open the door of his room in anger pushing his mother to one side.
"Jake, what if it's not her fault. Please let her eat. It's bad for the baby when the mother is not in good health." Old madam Steele pleaded as she wheeled her wheelchair closer to him at the dining room.
"Jake, please don't behave like your father used to treat me. That poor girl has endured a lot of pain. For my sake, let her eat first and then I'll ask her myself who the father is." Jake ignored his mother's pleas and continued to eat.
Jake got to find out about April's pregnancy through Lady Carter. It turns out she has been keeping a close watch on her daughter and got to find out about the pregnancy. Just to regain her trust and alliance with Jake, she quickly called to inform him while Jake in turn delivered vast amounts of money in her account.
At that point, she was able to confirm her strong trust with Jake again.
Old madam Steele watched her son finish his food before she continued to plead with him. His response turned out negative at the end, leaving his mother to sort out herself while he leaves for work.
Immediately she confirmed that Jake already left the house, she quickly wheeled herself into his study to search for spare keys to the rooms in the apartment.
Old madam Steele couldn't find the keys in his room or the study, so she made her way into his walk-in closet. After an hour of searching due to her hard mobility to move it took a while before she finally finds the keys in a luxury box, he kept in the suit rack.
